Hey now! Parts of Texas are being taken over by the Lib's. Travis County, Austin, Texas. Big parts of Houston which is the fourth largest city in the US. We have some crazy people left, but they are getting old and dying off.
My daughter lives in Austin and is a liberal!!! Some parts of their state is majorly blue. Just like Alaska is becoming!!! Yea!!!
The Republican party is basically a party of the elderly - hence no love of gays, etc. That will change as they are dying off and the younger people will take over - IF they have a party left after this upcoming election.
Let's not mince words - if you are a racist, homophobic, religious redneck bigot - then vote Republican - without the racism and hate they wouldn't get 15% of the vote.
Last night on Real Time, Bill Maher said that he realizes when he votes Democratic he is voting against his own best interests. But he does it for the good of the country. That gives me hope.
I love Bill Mahar!!!! Never miss his show on Friday nights. He nails those Republicans on his show, but is careful in doing so. Love his humor!!! Great guy! He even made a funny about President Obama in the debate regarding the million dollars he donated and smoking dope. Cracked me up!

It floors me every time I see one of my friends voicing support for Republicans(R-Money and Douchebag Ryan in particular),because they are clueless to the fact that these asshats being elected will only cause their lives so much more trouble and ruin our Country. These friends cannot be reasoned with,so I just accept them foibles and all,while I shake my head in disbelief.
Most of mine are Progressive Democrats,but,I got stuck living in the Mid-West for awhile. My parents taught me to be nice to the "Mentally Challenged"-guess I took that to heart.Hahaha...Maybe that's why I spent so much time hanging out with my kids and dogs when I lived there-and avoiding people when I was wasn't "on the clock" getting paid to talk to them:)

I'm a white, female, straight, senior (70), registered to vote as 'non partisan', on Medicare, have multiple sclerosis, have been divorced for 25+ years, own my home free and clear, am now retired, on a fixed income, receive social security monthly, worked/office beginning at 19 and retired from a wonderful career at the age of 65, paid for SS and Medicare while working, am paying a monthly premium for my Medicare now, pay a monthly premium/insurance for drugs, pay a monthly premium for secondary insurance (to go w/the Medicare) - Blue Cross and have to say that I feel very, very fortunate.
Do NOT vote Republican (and especially for the lying candidate running for president) across the board - national, state and local.
They will NOT allow what I have today (which I worked hard for!) and I fear like hell if Romney gets in and changes things w/Medicare that I will not be able to obtain medical insurance due to my MS. No one can pinpoint what the man says - he changes his mind every day. I felt sorry for President Obama having to debate him - what a farce Romney is!!! I hope he drops the nice guy routine next go around and knocks Romney on his ass!
I was just about to add that! I am a teacher and a proud union member, and I am horrified by the number of my colleagues who spout Republican talking points.
They're not only idiots, but they have extremely short memories. I often wonder how that "trickle down" crap worked so well for them during the Bush/Cheyney Regime. And they dare ask "Are you better off today than four years ago?"
