I'm curious what town this truck was in-- cuz unless it's one with an abnormally majority of die-hard, partisan jerks I have trouble believing this person could get a job. My parents had three teenage girls in their house and never once bothered with any kind of home protection. But when the kids left and 2008 rolled around, OMG-- the family needs assault rifles and handguns and who friggin' whatever else they're wasting their money on. They have an entire wall stacked so high with food storage that they put cloths over them and use them as tables.

We just "recovered" from Sandy and despite what happened to us, we consider ourselves fortunate. We lost power, and our generator died. My husband prepared for the storm by taking the branches off two trees that are close to the house, and they both came down during the storm, we just had minor property damage.
I had to drive through the storm on Monday to get my mom to Dialysis and back. It wasn't as bad as I had imagined, but still scary and surreal.
Murphey's Law- The power comes back on, and the cable goes out.
I hope all visitors to IM who were affected by Sandy are safe and well.
