Anti-voter suppression video from Michael Moore. Better label this one NSFW.

Okay those old people scared me a little.

But I do admire the message, and I agree that if we let the Republicans steal this election we deserve to be haunted by angry grandparents.

So remember, VOTE! Vote like your life depends on it!

Or simply vote like you're afraid your granny is going to watch you have sex. That certainly motivates me!

O/T: But I have to wonder after watching Christie praise President Obama how mAnn Coulter's taking it? Christie is (was) mAnn's man...she thought he should have been the nominee and now Christie is singing Obama's praises for his response to Sandy?
    Oh the inhumanity!

    1. I don't understand why wingnuts are up in arms about Christie's praise for PBHO's response to the storm damage. I normally can't stand Christie, but seems obvious he cares deeply for the people in his state and he's truly grateful for the support and compassion our President has provided and will continue to provide.

  2. I was thinking when I saw the still of the video (before I hit play) "aww, that black lady looks just like my nanna Helene!"

But after hearing the lady in the video say "cock punch right in the nut sack". . .I can't really see the similarity.

Still- EXCELLENT video. I like the WWII vet reminding everyone if the GOP steals the election, it will be because we LET them steal it- AGAIN.

If there is ANY noise on election day about voter suppression, we need to go out into our communities en masse and stand up for disenfranchised voters.

You don't even have to be "official"- just go to a local polling place in an area where there is most likely to be minority and/or elderly voters and keep your eye out for anyone being turned away- offer to go back with them and advocate for them. As long as you don't mention any candidate or party inside or on the grounds of the polling place, they CANNOT make you leave.

I will be going to my old 3W neighborhood where many elderly blacks live now and if anyone at the polling place tells me I have to leave- I will say NO- call the police if you want; it's my right to be here.

I early voted at Randall's and there was a ton of people in line, even in the middle of a weekday.

I'm still scared of the republicans pulling out every dirty trick they have. The difference is this time, I think if they try and steal another election, we will stage a revolution of the likes which bitter mittens and stepford annie cannot EVEN imagine.

I spit coffee when reading your last point, G. Yes, that would be a good motivator.

But really, I'm disappointed with Michael Moore - I like grandparents to be wise, sound, and set good examples. I don't like to hear them do raunchy sailor talk. It's just not the octogenarian way.

I would have agreed with you, but over the last few months I've been caregiver for a 90 year old lady, retired very successful businesswoman. She says stuff like this with ease. I read that at oldtimer's assisted living homes, the elders tell raunchy sex jokes.

I couldn't believe it, when my traditional mom who was married happily to my father, gave me advice after my divorce: To focus on myself, don't get hooked up right away, and just have a "boyfriend".

      Maybe, they are "wise" ??

Disappointed because because some old folks who have earned the right to say whatever they please say what ever they please?

"It's just not the octogenarian way."

      Say what?

      Surely you gest?

      True, Leland!

My husband's late grandmother was a "rosie the riveter" gal, she was a nurse in a Mash unit in WW2 and could make a truck driver blush.

Margaret and Helen's blog is another great example.

  7. My brother showed me this the other day. He,my sister and I roared with laughter. Our 84 year liberal mother lives in a senior housing complex, and let me tell you-the women in the foreground pictured is our mom to a T! We laughed so hard, because we could picture her grabbing and twisting Willards' nut sack with her right hand exactly like this one said she would do.(Wearing a little innocent grin the whole time). That's assuming Ol'Willard has a nut sack because I'm thinking he doesn't.

Christian Radio Host Predicts: ‘There Will Be Blood’ And ‘Civil Unrest’ If Obama Loses Election

On his Wednesday afternoon radio program, evangelical radio host (and outspoken anti-gay activist) Bryan Fischer expressed his theory that if Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney defeats President Barack Obama in next week’s election, there will be widespread mobs with looting and bloodshed.

The reports of looting in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Fischer said, are “just a preview of what’s going to happen if President Obama loses the election.”

The American Family Association radio host then gazed into his figurative political crystal ball: “I predict there’s going to be civil unrest. We’ll get a lot of these flash mob burglaries.”

Fischer added that in the wake of an electoral defeat, Obama’s supporters will likely say, “‘President Romney’s going to take away our lollipops. We’re entitled to it. We’re just going to go get it. The election’s been stolen from us. What is ours by right has been taken from us by the dastardly Republicans.”

He warned: “There will be blood.”

Well he doesn't have anything to worry about, since President Obama will be president for another 4 years:

"Rosebud" nursing home. References to "Citizen Kane"?

I thought the clip was funny. A lot of elderly people "tell it as they see it", yeah the language is NSFW, but if it gets the point across while making people laugh, why not?

OT Don't know if anyone's posted this yet, so forgive the repeat-

Bloomberg, the mayor of New York who swore he wouldn't endorse a candidate, who politely refused having the President visit because it would cause gridlock etc, who O.K.'ed the New York Marathon despite the route going through affected areas, not to mention gridlock, has given a BLAZING endorsement for President Obama, citing climate change and his ability to "get things done"
