Bill Maher wonders if Fox News even knows what media bias is?

Courtesy of HBO:

If there's one drum the right wing likes to bang it's the one about the "liberal media", which, by law, must appear in every right-wing editorial or come out of the mouths of every Fox News and radio show pundit at least four times a day or Rupert Murdoch strips you of your wingnut accreditation.

Claiming "liberal bias" is like a tick. If you make up a scandal and it doesn't get reported to your satisfaction, it's not because the whole Solyndra thing was a great big nothingburger, it's because the liberal media is protecting the president. If Sarah Palin says something stupid and it gets reported, it's not because Sarah Palin said something stupid. It's because the liberal media has it out for strong conservative women who quit their jobs and do nothing for years.

And to this end, Fox News' website now has this thing called "BIAS ALERT." And each day, in bright red letters, they post some example of what they think is "liberal bias."

Except there's only one small problem: it's almost never an example of media bias. What they seem to have uncovered is that ...grab hold of something ...not everyone is a Republican.

I think Maher really nails it here,

You know the idea of Fox News attempting to point out media bias in other news outlets is kind of like a New York streetwalker calling a young woman wearing high heels a whore.

And it is almost exactly like the pedophile I posted about yesterday screaming "faggot" at the top of his lungs while buggering young boys at every opportunity. Same thing only, if anything, Fox News may be even MORE shameful and disgusting.

I wonder if it is possible to seek psychiatric help on behalf of a media giant?

My local newspaper, admittedly and unashamedly biased toward the GOP, latched onto that Foc News 'scandal' over Libya, you know, the one where the President 'murdered' four Americans because he reportedly had access to live video and audio, and sat there and heard three requests for help and IGNORED THEIR PLEAS. One of the parents of the dead was all over Fox caling for someone's head on a platter, so of course Fox was all too happy to offer the President's.
Trouble is, even Newsmax has called it a lie, as the CIA was responding within an hour from nearby. But my good old paper, home of endorsements to Dave Camp and Jim Stamas (he's the MI legislator who got famous on Rachel for denying our female reps a voice because they expect respect) came out with an innuendo-laden piece three days ago, and then yesterday called for the President to own up, and before the election. I wrote a long FACT LADEN letter online, pointing out that it was so swell of them to print this on a Friday before the election, since there is no way a regular letter written in rebuttal would ever make it in before Tuesday, although I hoped the editor might have the integrity to print the truth before then himself. Not holding my breath. The only saving grace is that their circulation is down so far I doubt they any any influence at all, but it is infuriating that a news outlet can fall so far. Thank you Fox...you have now succeeded in dumbing down not only the populace, but the press designed to save us from propagandists like you.

Well, our northern Michigan newspaper has a Port Huron (not nearby) editorial today about merging fire departments and how it takes time for such mergers to work. This is what the city fathers want to do here. What happens if your house is on fire while the city and county are working out their merger? Local papers can be such a drag on the real world!

While our local paper did endorse President Obama, they decided not to endorse for the local state representative position. The one in office is an idiot but the paper said that the opponent had no experience. So we should probably go with the idiot and his experience? Aghhh!

I think it's called "projection" -- you know, accusing one's enemies of doing the very thing one is guilty of. The GOTP do it constantly. Did they learn it all from Roger Ailes?

And, some have been listening to 'their' bias for four plus years! Can you imagine what it is going to be like when President Obama is reelected?

I suspect their viewership will drop dramatically after that!

  7. Pedophia has more to do with hetrosexual men than with homosexual men. I'm saying one has nothing to do with the other.

    No?
