President Obama pardons turkey in decades old White House tradition.

I think this may be one of the sillier traditions foisted upon the President of the United States (And clearly the President thinks so as well.), but I post it simply because I think it is really cool that Obama gave a shout out to number cruncher extraordinaire Nate Silver.

Perhaps he should create a new post that could coincide with Bill Clinton's "Department of Explaining Stuff," only Nate's will be the "Department of Explaining Math to the Republicans."

You know the funny thing is that if Obama WERE to create such a cabinet position, the Republicans would filibuster their asses off to keep Nate Silver from getting the appointment. Not exactly Nate Silver fans, don'tcha know?

I'm finished fawning over the President. Let's get some things done. First off, he needs to get rid of Arne Duncan and Race to the Top. Obama needs someone who's taught at least 10 years before he can be nominated Secretary of Education.
Happy Thanksgiving. Let's roll the tape of Sain't Sarah pardoning the turkey and slaughtering of animals in the background. This should just be an IM tradition.

Get your OWN blog and start your own traditions. This is G's blog. Post the link when you finish.

    2. I agree but I'm afraid Duncan is in it for the long haul, they'll never get rid of Race to the Top and we'll be stuck with NCLB too as there has been no movement to fix it in the last four years and I doubt there will be any in the next.

      Just not a top priority.

If fawning bothers you, why are you here?
Why would you even click on this thread? There is freedom of choice you know, you did not have to click on this thread.

I will fawn over my President if I want to, and I don't care if you or anybody else likes it or not.

It seems like the War On Christmas comes earlier every year. For the folks over at Fox News, some of whom are still reeling from the outcome of the election, it seems there are many more reasons to be concerned this holiday season.

In the days before Thanksgiving, Fox filled its shows with dire, sometimes terrifying segments about all the threats surrounding the merriest season of the year. There’s the eradication of free speech by atheist “loons,” the possibility of choking on our food, the diseases spread on airplanes, and the endless depression that comes from Christmas commercials.

If we even make it to Christmas, that is. Fox’s morning man Bill Hemmer charted the possibility that the “apocalypse” would arrive on Dec. 22, and just how sad it will be when we all get wiped out, leaving all those unopened presents under the tree.

So, sit back and take in the best of Fox’s holiday doom and gloom. And as you endure the season, take a moment to think of all those over at Fox News, who clearly need a little cheering up.

That's the funniest montage of stoopid I ever saw - but the comments are fantastic!

Gird your Loins! The bully Atheists are taking away your nativity, raising prices of airline tickets, and using germ warfare.

  4. OH, he is going to be in trouble with the Catholics for that one. And you better believe Faux will take just that tiny part where his hand is pardoning the turkey, make up some shit and replay it over and over.

I hope starting next year he can start pardoning heritage breed turkeys. They're healthier, will live longer and look much more like our traditional native birds.

Boy, Malia sure is looking more and more like her mother these days, especially since she's getting so tall.

It's hard to believe they are the same little girls who moved into the White House just a few years ago. I can't imagine having to grow up in the public eye like that, but I give the President and First Lady credit for managing to create as normal a life as possible for their daughters.
