According to Right Wing radio host, it hurts God's feelings if we don't drill for oil. NO, I am NOT kidding!

Courtesy of Raw Story:

The Cornwall Alliance’s Calvin Beisner, who has previously said that believing in climate change “is an insult to God,” explained on Thursday that the Bible said it was also very rude to not use oil, coal and natural gas.

“The wicked and lazy master was the one who buried his talent in the ground and didn’t do anything to multiply it,” Beisner explained. “That’s essentially what those who say we need to stop using oil, coal and natural gas are telling us to do. Just leave those resources buried in the ground, rather than pulling them out and multiplying their value for human benefit.”

Fischer likened the situation to a birthday present he was given at the age of six.

“I opened up a birthday present that I didn’t like, and I said it right out, ‘Oh, I don’t like those,’” the radio host recalled. “And it just crushed — and the person that gave me gift was there. You know, I just kind of blurted it out, ‘I don’t like those.’ And it just crushed that person. It was enormously insensitive of me to do that.”

“And you think, that’s kind of how we’re treating God when he’s given us these gifts of abundant and inexpensive and effective fuel sources,” Fischer added. “And we don’t thank him for it and we don’t use it.”

“You know, God has buried those treasures there because he loves to see us find them.”

You know I have heard some truly stupid things come out of the mouths of these Right Wing lunatics, but this one really takes the prize.

God "buried those treasures there because he loves too see us find them?"

So I assume that drilling for oil, mining for coal, and searching for natural gas reserves is all a cosmic game of hide and go seek? Or perhaps a holy Easter egg hunt?

Seriously, WTF?

Is that ALSO why it was okay to drive the native population of their land? Because they were hurting God's feelings by not raping the planet? Well that's an interesting rationalization for the continued use of fossil fuels.

You know using this same line of "logic" it kind of makes me wonder why these idiots don't consider the possibility that God may have never wanted them to crap all over this beautiful planet we live on and would like them to find a way to clean up its oceans and rivers, reduce the population currently devouring its resources, and return it to the pristine shape that we found it in originally?

Or did I just read the Bible wrong?

You got it ! It's the same old "Manifest Destiny" crap all over again. Religion and greed were the driving forces behind that slaughter too.

The Kill it and drill it crowd, dominists 7 mountains....if god didn't want us to kill wolves (for fun) he wouldn't of made traps and guns.

Now I just read about a huge sinkhole in Louisiana, believed to be caused by fracking...WTF is god trying to tell these idiots?

“You know, God has buried those treasures there because he loves to see us find them.”

That might be why God has buried Trig's birth certificate. Imagine the joy when we find it. Also, too, the hidden truth about those "tight abs".

There must be a desperate need to throw money at loons like The Cornwall Alliance’s Calvin Beisner. They should have been run out of business long ago.

o/t During Bristol's ill fated excursion into wannabee a teevee starlet didn't Sarah Palin, in a broadcast public way, bring up the following reward offer?
      http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uW-BSLgBIgU/ULutqyMxDFI/AAAAAAAADVs/JXTshKB6ku4/s1600/SCHARLOTT+$+10,000+proof.jpg

Now it is revealed that in a dark and shadowy way she had her attorney try to get the author silenced and possibly fired with a six page letter. Sound familiar? The $10,000 reward should be reinstated and more attention to her methods must come out. The Palins have a history of bullying and intimidation. They always seem to get by with that. Is there no way on earth to call her out? Wasilla has been silenced, Alaska is uber corrupt, must all the lower 48 just have to lay down and shut up? Why can't the peeps get an investigation going when there is blatant criminal activity shown to us?

Bryan Fischer is one of the most hateful, bigoted, and viciously militant fools on the face of the planet.

He rivals even Ted Nugent or Todd Akin in his blind allegiance to Christian supremacy and insane ignorance:

A few of his choice quotes, VERBATIM, and no these are NOT made up, he really said all this and there's a lot more on the web of his verbal shit.

The First Amendment was designed to protect only Christians

People who criticize his bigotry are enemies of free speech and religious liberty.

Progressives are unpatriotic, un-American, enemies of God

I blames gay people for the Nazi Party and the Holocaust.

I thinks gay people should not be allowed to hold public office

    African Americans "rut like rabbits."

Native Americans deserved to be killed or forced off their lands because they were not Christ

There's always someone to set themselves up as THE ONE WHO KNOWS WHAT GOD WANTS.

...and there are always those who are just stupid enough to believe them.

And that's religion in a nutshell.

  7. If god really wanted people to drill for oil, why didn't people discover the technology to do so until recently?

On the other side of the coin, this is what they call Intelligent? If they keep THIS up, 2014 and 2016 won't be a problem for Dems.

Then again, it's right up a Fox viewer's alley!

God didn't give us fossil fuels: they are dead plants and animals.

"abundant and inexpensive and effective fuel sources"

Aside from the blatant disregard for basic grammar rules, fossile ressources aren't abundant, expensive as fuck and certainly not effective.

  11. This is probably a dumb question, but I'd ask those guys to think about for a minute before just rattling off some bullshit answer that pops into their magic brain.

Ever wonder why God gave us all that oil that was in the ground for so many years, but he waited for us to develop our own internal combustion for until the late 19th/early 20th century? It might've come in handy somewhere along the way. Oh, I guess we would've needed tires and shock-absorbers and transmissions and tinted windows and satellite radio and shit like that before we would bother building refineries and whatnot. Was that the plan? Never mind.

They make that shit up on the fly in order to justify whatever preconceived position they have. Either that, or they must believe that God was just fucking with the little human peoples on the 3rd rock orbiting this particular star to get a laugh, kinda like he did by telling Pat Robertson last January that Mitt Romney would be elected POTUS.

Talk about going over a cliff... these types have long left our world of reason, and why I let their platitudes bumfuzzle me is my own stupid fault for bothering to listen to the whack jobs. Shame on me.

Somebody sure as hell read it wrong: It was the lazy servant, not master, that failed to use the talent he was given. It never fails to amaze me when the thumpers talks so authoritatively about an old book they say they have read, but if they read it, it is misread at best.

Doesn't Sarah use this same argument when she advocates tearing up the entire state of Alaska and letting energy companies rape the land she purportedly 'loves.' Of course, she allowed boys into her daughters' bedrooms too, so I guess Palin and rape (and Toad) are pretty close. But I know she has equated drilling with God at times.

it must chap their hide to know that oil and gas is found using the geologic record which is based on a much longer earth history than the bible is interpreted to show.
