Final picture of the day.
Through the Make-A-Wish foundation eight-year old Janiya Penny made a wish.
This is her reaction after having that wish fulfilled and getting to meet President Barack Obama.
What a great picture, and a testament to hope and dreams.
I think I just saw the worst violation of anyone's rights by a police officer EVER.
And guess what state it was in? Texas, of course.
The women were not arrested, not charged with any crime, they just threw a cigarette butt out the window of their car.
The story is on the left sidebar tonight, and I hope that the police involved in this are fired. No one in their right mind could ever agree to rape like this, which is exactly what this was
Thoughts- The female officer is probably under major pressure to "BE A "REAL" COP"
ergo - she does what the MEN tell her to do or else SHE will suffer the consequences, much like Female members of the military who attempt to speak out vs. injustice.
They are shitting where they eat, and they are viewed as Evil Turncoats, not people desperate for justice.
The female cop was conveniently up the road? If this has happened to others, these two have a sick little game going. Unbelievable that this happened and that these two suffered such abuse! Take 'em to the cleaners. But please stop throwing your cigarettes out the window! That really drives me crazy, it's so irresponsible, disrespectful, and potentially harmful so I'm a little less sympathetic because of their actions.
It's appropriate that Abraham Lincoln's portrait is watching that little girl's dream unfold. He would never have dreamed such a day! Gives me reassurance that we are going in the right direction.
Told ya the Prez had that Laser-vision like Superman. He just forgot to turn it off.

For people who have "everything" but still deserve some heartfelt recognition, we have over the years made a donation to Make-a-Wish in a special employee's name, and they might get a nominal recognition gift like a certificate or something small. But over the years, people really appreciate the ability to help someone else in a big way do something very special like this.
I've seen a lot of tears of happiness when presenting someone with a certificate acknowledging their service. People are PROUD when they are able to help someone else achieve a dream, and I've been told that it means so much more to them than gift cards, etc.
I've saved this for "special" occasions because it is so tear-jerking, and a boo-hoo fest usually shuts down any productivity for hours when we've done this. About 10 years ago, I had our CEO bawling like a baby, and I had never even seen this guy even blink, most less even get misty-eyed. He said it was the most thoughtful gift anyone had ever given him. Ten years later, he has the certificate on the center of his "wall of fame", and I'll bet he spent as much $$$ having it framed as the donation that I made. I was so humbled, because it made me look a lot smarter than I really am. A lot of folks really warmed up to the chief executive that day after seeing he was a warm, thoughtful human being just by showing his emotions.
