In "news that you probably could have figured out for yourself," Republicans are becoming increasingly fearful.

Courtesy of Politico:

Nearly three-quarters of Republicans are fearful about their own lives in 2013 - a huge jump of over 50 percent since 2006, according to a poll released Monday.

By contrast, three-quarters of Democrats are hopeful about their own lives in the coming year, as are half of independents, according to an ABC/Washington Post poll.

A whopping 72 percent of Republicans are fearful about their own lives, and 79 percent are fearful for the world, the poll found. Only 20 percent of Republicans were fearful in 2006, a gigantic 52-point leap. In 2008, those numbers were already rising as President Barack Obama was elected. Then, 54 percent were fearful.

Gotta hand it to Fox News, their tactics of constantly misrepresenting the facts and claims that Obama is the worst thing to happen to American since disco, have certainly had the desired effect.

Well I'm certainly glad that I am on the side of hope and change, and not fear and cringe,

I guess while I am opening presents and spending the day with loved ones, the Republicans will be stocking their fallout shelters and loading their AK47s in preparation for the Zombie Apocalypse.

They ought to be fearful...their asses were handed to them in November..and their love affair with the NRA isn't winning them any new intelligent, thoughtful people.
It's bringing in the usual Ted Nugent, Sarah Palin nutcases...nothing new there..those bastards are 'stockin' up' their weaponry..but that was going to happen anyway...what with the re-election of that fake, black president...
These regressives are holding back this country from advancing.. or as Sister Sarah says...'pro-gressing' the country. Cause she's so fucking bright and intelligent..

Malcolm X said it best: White folks are threatened, shaken to the core by the possibility of a "brown tide." They fear obsolescence, the unknown, and the complexities of life in the 21st century.

Suck it, Jesus freaks. The world is moving on and leaving you behind.

They are shaken by the possibility of a "brown revenge". Guilt tripping themselves.

They are a sorry bunch of negativism!

Love having our wonderful President Obama and VP Biden who are optimists. Thank God they are in office! Can you imagine if it had the 'other two'?

I remain positive - voted for Obama/Biden two times - suspect more of the Republicans in office are going to be voted OUT in the next election cycle (U.S. Congress/House especially!) - think those horrible guns, bullet packets and the NRA will go down - and, I'm having a wonderful Christmas!

Hope you positive people are too!

  6. How can they compare bush's ruins, wars, lies, crashed economy, incompetence and proven all around fuck up to President Obama's recovery, restored/restoring faith, goodwill and growth? How does that work? Uh um, aint gonna happen. No way no how.

I can't find any comparisons, outside the title President.

    Politico yuck.

    Merry Christmas IM!

I could have predicted that. A quick scan at the cforp will show that that they are praying like crazy over there because the end of our country "as they know it" is imminent. They think Obama is plotting a dictatorship just so he can destroy the nation. So they are stockpiling weapons, food, etc.

Sound sane to you? Yes, they are paranoid.

I truly wish we could (Constitutionally) do something about Fox News. We would be a far healthier country without them.

For the record, I spend a lot of time thinking about what I'ld do in a zombie apocalypse...but only because I'm obsessed with the Walking Dead and it's kind of fun. Plus -- WHY DON'T THE PEOPLE ON THAT SHOW JUST GO TO TARGET!!!

I agree about the role Faux news, however I think that many churches are also part of the problem. I guess I was taught that churches weren't suppose to be political, but it seems now days that many of them are promoting a very radical agenda....

Sunday at lunchtime in a local restaurant I overheard a lady in the booth behind us say how worried she was that this country would become a "socialist state" and she added that she may have to move to another country. Hmmm. And just where will she go? Virtually all successful industrialized countries have universal health care and very restrictive gun laws and social safety nets that put the US to shame. Republicans who feed on Fox News are such silly people.
