Mitt Romney ponders the reasons for this defeat.

Hey, we warned the Republicans about the youth vote, but did they listen?

Nope.

The youth aren't the only ones who got President Obama reelected. He got the women's vote, the majority of Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Jews, and every other ethic group. The only group Romney got the majority of is white males, slightly.

Romney was never going to win. He was never leading. It is hilarious his people kept lying to him, making him think he was winning.

Poor Mitt- he is actually pathetic in defeat. This proves to me that he is indeed a shallow man with no vision and no self-awareness. He had unlimited funds at his disposal to run a convincing campaign aimed at all levels of our society. But no- he was and is only interested in the privileged class- those like him immune to tough times and lack of opportunity and acceptance. He was more excited about the height of trees in Michigan than its citizens! He demonstrated zero compassion for the "47% percent" struggling to get by in this harsh economy. He was unable to even have a normal conversation with anyone not of his social class. When a respected bakery presented him with a spread of cookies they thought might appeal to his sweet tooth, he questioned whether they came from Seven Eleven! And I don't think he even knew- or cared- that he had offended regular, hard-working people. He rudely asked people their ages, never stopping to consider their feelings. He showed no warmth towards children not of his own blood- and even there he seemed to be almost indifferent. He has so much of everything- wealth, properties, investments, grandchildren, etc. that he seems to take all of that for granted. In short, he never could have been a man of the people- never! Him stature in the Mormon Church alone makes him almost immune to criticism in his view. He clearly put himself first even when he was in public view. When asked if he bullied a boy in school, he "couldn't remember". When asked to follow the tradition of providing several years of tax returns he felt it was not necessary for him to do so. He bragged, or had others brag for him, about the extent of his business prowess, humanitarianism and charitable donations (note to Mitt: there are places other than the Mormon Church that could use money!) He flagrantly lied or misrepresented facts so many times we lost count.

To add insult to injury, his wife Ann seemed to be his hand maiden- expensively coiffed and dressed- but just there to embellish his persona- not even a person in her own right as is our First Lady. She clearly demonstrated that she, like Mitt, had no core beliefs and, shockingly, no real empathy for women. She was totally unable to connect with real people. She was hailed as a baker of cookies and Welsh cakes, flipper of exceptional pancakes yet when Thanksgiving rolled round, she ordered in from Boston Market! So it was a myth. All of it was a myth and thank God the great people of America made the correct choice on Election Day.

It was never meant for Romney to win. He had all the money in the world, being backed by billionaires. BUT does not have the right stuff to be president. It's that simple.

President Barack Obama has ALL the stuff as Commander in Chief. He is the real deal.

Very well stated, 4:08AM, and his BFFs Adelson and Norquist are still whining about the big raspberry sent in their general direction. Welcome to democracy, boys!

Astonishing, isn't it? He has been running for president for the past six years, had a billion dollar budget and ran a horrible campaign.

I guess he thought it was not worth the effort to have a few years of "clean" tax returns or a budget plan that made sense to anyone.

Nearly every week he would say something that would imply that anyone not rich, white, male and straight were second class citizens.

When he noticed that he wasn't polling well with women, he trotted out Ann, and she was worse than he was! Her "You people" comment and saying how they had "lived on the edge" because they only had a $400,000 stock portfolio to get them through college (which was a gift from Mittens father).

I bet Karl Rove told them it was in the bag for them from day one. All they had to do was look good and give speeches. Then Ann was surprised at how hard that was, and how everyone kind of laughed at her and thought she was ridiculous.

Their Thanksgiving was pathetic. Four kids and four adults and they couldn't throw a turkey in the oven, mash some potatoes and heat up a can of green beans? I bet their kitchen staff had the day off.

I picked up an Enquirer that said Mittens told Ann he was thinking about giving it another try in 2016 and she blew up and told him no way. He is not comforting her; he hates losing and does not want the game to be over. I'm guessing their household is a miserable one as he tries to wear her down.

In as little as 25 years ago, it would have been his too. He thought he was due, he thought it was his right. The lack of hubris in him, his wife and family was astounding, considering how every other barometer told the Party that he was a stinker as a candidate and a no chance victor beyond the Primary. The Romney candidacy, as much as McCain, should be a lesson to the GOP but it hasn't been.

I think he had an excess of hubris not a lack.

Hubris is arrogance, which Mitt the Shit was not lacking in.

Mitt telling people to ask their parents for college tuition was insulting. Darn, we people must not have considered how much parents or elders can contribute! He is convinced people want "free stuff".
I don't think anyone could get through to him that 98% do not have tens or hundreds of millions in their name or sticks to cash in from trust funds.

I'm still aghast at how well Romney did, with 47% of the votes going for him.

My non-political wife usually stays out of such things, but in his case, spat out that she can't even stand to LOOK at his face, as it is SO evident he is a swindler.

How could THAT many people get conned?

Okay, Mitt, you've had your time in the sun- now go away and stay away. Love your wife, love your sons, love your grandchildren and your church- just leave the rest of us the hell alone. Thank you.

Bored huh? He should be the one experimenting like Booker. Attempt to see how the other 47% live $4.00 a day. Maybe he will learn why he didn't win the US Presidency. Of course he won't he is just wealthy. Go away and be wealthy.

It's amazing that in one short month nearly EVERYONE has forgotten Mitt and nearly EVERYONE is thanking their lucky stars that he was not elected.
