My gosh..what a powerful sign. Please, Gryphen, write about this tomorrow. It's that important.

Burying these young children and their teachers is a hard lesson for all of us. Congress, and the leaches that inhabit it, need a wake-up call. That these innocent lives had to be taken is beyond heartbreaking.

Those that disparage the president and his remarks only pile onto the garbage that the NRA produces. The Second Amendment has been used to justify the murder of innocent people and children in this country for too long.

Times have changed. A well-armed militia was needed back in the 1700's, but my gosh, we have a well-armed militia.. it is called the Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard (in every state)..

Guns? OK, keep your gun that can take down a deer or a squirrel, but for God's sake why do these people need semi-automatic weapons to do this???

I'm tired and I'm tired of watching these funerals.

I had to have Christmas this Saturday with my 'brother in law' who is a rabid conservative with a carry permit who loudly stated that if the teachers in the Sandy Point school had had weapons, none of this would have happened. I bit my tongue several time now or I walk home!"

Gryphen, don't let up about this. We appreciate your thoughts, comments and postings about this.

The NRA is holding Congress and the Senate hostage. They are pointing their own version of a deadly gun at the heads of our politicians-- the threat of withdrawing support (money and political backing) and choosing to support a rival. The politicians are so weak that they given in to the demands of these thugs. The children and teachers in Newtown didn't have a chance to negotiate with their killer. The NRA will literally kill the politician who does not obey.

It may be a coincidence, but these are the same politicians who claim to be pro-life. If they are pro-life, then they must do everything to support life. Assault weapons are anti-life. It is as simple as that.

The teachers tried to protect the children in their charge and the principal and staff tried to reach the shooter...makes me wonder how many of the GOP Congressmen and Senators who are backed by the NRA would risk their lives for others in a similar situation. I see them as cowardly men who only talk tough but when it comes down to the real nitty gritty they would cringe in fear.

Most of them would have shoved the kids in the way and run like hell.

Before his rampage, the Newtown shooter smashed his home computer’s hard drive, a law-enforcement source tells Christine Pelisek—evidence that the shooting spree was planned in advance.

“It was pretty bad,” the source said of the smashed hard drive. “If he destroyed the computer, that means there are things on there that would concern him. It is going to be awhile before they can decipher the information.”

The FBI’s computer analysis response team is still trying to put the pieces of the hard drive back together, said the law-enforcement source, who asked not to be identified because of the ongoing investigation, “The kid knew what he was doing,” the source said. “This was a planned event. There is no question about it.”

That sign sums it up succinctly. Congress folk don't care, they got their dream jobs, pay and influence. They got their blood money from the NRA. They're all cowards.

We also need to address the teaching profession and salary scales in comparison to other fields. This tragedy showed the world the true mettle those who educate possess. I imagine any teacher would do the same.

On the awesome news front, California Teachers group threatened to move their business away from private equity giant Cerberus after discovering they invested $751.4 million in Bushmaster / Freedom Group - the manufacturer of the AR 15 rifle used by the shooter in the Newtown, CT killings.

The invisible hand of the free market won't be on the trigger for Bushmaster.

Chris Matthews guest who revealed his perceived need for weaponry to intimidate government officials
and prepare for a revolution as if they are establishing a new country away from the mother country was enlightening.

Their cause is not the right to own guns for defense from an intruder, nor hunting, nor sport but to mass murder citizens for independence in opposition to law and rule the likes of Schaeffer Cox. IMO such people suffer delusions fueling conspiracies to justify their acting out. Some people pretend and role play reenactments of war.
