President Obama continues attack on Christmas by manhandling elves. Oh the humanity!

Courtesy of the YouTube site:

President Obama and his family attended the annual "Christmas in Washington" concert, which benefits Children's National Medical Center. Before the concert, he presented a basket of books to four former patients, who were dressed as elves.

Yeah the President is certainly waging that "War on Christmas" in a subversive manner don't you think? Here he is standing before a Christmas tree, giving gifts to sick children, and wishing everybody a Merry Christmas, just like you would expect a secret Kenyan born Muslim to do.

You know if you were insane that is.

Damn those are some cute elves!

  1. So sweet! President Obama always seems like he enjoys meeting children almost as much as they enjoy meeting him! What a wonderful First Family!!

    Gawd, that was precious.

    Thank you for posting this.

    I really needed it.

  3. Too cute; I’ve never been so proud of an American president.

I was decorating a large tree on Saturday with “friends,” and a very old Aunt Jemima ornament surfaced. The eager republicans immediately started Michelle Obama jokes, but I shamed them and shut them down easily. They’re not very confident, you know. Michelle has done nothing wrong.

Why would you bother mentioning that joke? It's very offensive and no one needs to read about.

It is great that she mentioned this!! We need to speak out amongst our friends and family and speak out when they think they are just making a "joke." This kind of dialogue is important. You shouldn't shut it down because it's uncomfortable.

Oh get off your high horse and go drink some egg nog. The commenter was making a point -not trying to offend anyone.

LOL! It is because small children have an inate ability to know which adults to trust.....both The President and First Lady have that quality that the most vulnerable amongst us sense by instinct and gravitate toward.

  5. B-b-but he's not talking about JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEzuz.

And if you talk about Christmas without talking about JEEEEEEEEEEEEzuz, then you're waging War On Christmas and should be put in jail. Or something like that.

I used to really love Christmas until the Right Wing got hold of it and turned it into a guilt-fest.

Honestly, I've become so disgusted with Christmas. I never had much as a kid and I don't make much now so the pressure to buy buy buy really ruins the holiday. On top of it, my family is quite dysfunctional so it only highlights some of the more difficult parts of my life. I love the lights and some snow would be nice.

Last year was very painful because I only had $60 to buy my 12 yr old son some presents. The look on his face Christmas morning was heartbreaking. Kids are awesome and resilient and this year he said all he wanted was one video game about $40... I managed to save enough for a game, a video chair and a new controller, about $150 but I think he will be happy. I had a professor tell me once "If you don't have expectations, you can't be disappointed." Hopefully he will get a little more than he expected and it will make up for last year.

      6:40pm.

Love and a nice meal and just some holiday cheer makes more of a happy holiday than do physical presents. I know your son is young, but maybe fire up some of the older holiday movies, "Christmas Vacation", "A Christmas Story", the fun ones. Make some hot chocolate, Chex Mix, and sit and enjoy some of the movies that both make Christmas special and also show just how silly the entire holiday is! Christmas is sooo overrated.

Hi 6:40, your son sounds terrific. It is hard to see the disappointment, but he'll live a lovely life if he's not hung up on "stuff". That is a huge present!

My family is also a mess. I decided the mess stops with me. My kids and I are going to do things differently. Not perfect but an awful lot better!

How did the right wing make this into a guilt fest? I thought they were the ones who thought everyone should wish me "Merry Christmas."

I don't recall the White House "releasing the elves" before, but I like it! Great outfits, especially the shoes. He's really in his element when working with kids - even the obstinate whining ones in Congress.

I felt like my vote for him mattered the last time, there's no word for how proud I am to see him get a second term.

Poor little kid, I feel bad for him since I saw how self-absorbed his mother is on that stupid reality show she had going...didn't really expect much of Sarah's demon-spawn, but that scene where Bristol goes on and on about Levi and never notices how bad she's making little Tripp feel, just broke my heart. I hope he is getting a lot more time with his father now to at least balance it out. Regret is a mean bitch in your old age, Bristol, and not a very good companion. I have a feeling you'll figure that out a little too late :(

  9. I'm glad he does the things he does, the way he does them. It's nice to feel that our president is a decent person who doesn't get caught up in the right's ridiculousness - hell, they were upset that they had so many trees in the white house this year! Ugh.

Wasn't there some complaint about a commie ornament last year? Sent in by school kids or something? Like Michelle and Barack have time to personally screen every ornament.

I'm pretty certain that the person that was complaining about a "commie" ornament would be hard pressed to define what "commie" actually means.

I remember Sarah bitching about the White House Christmas card a year ago or so, and she said something like "Well it figures since they had an ornament on one of the trees that had Chairman Mao on it so of course they don't care about real American values blah, blah, blah"...turns out one of the MANY volunteer-decorated White House Christmas trees had an American Art theme, and some of the bulbs had some Warhol paintings silk-screened on them, one of which was a portrait he painted of Chairman Mao. But Sarah has no interest in truth of course and instead tried to make it seem like the Obamas personally commissioned the bulb and placed it in the center of the tree and were making people bow to it or something. Whatever makes the idiots hate the President and his family a little more works for bird-brain Palin, bless her little black heart.

Normal people wonder how anyone could be gullible enough to fall for the "War on Christmas" malarkey, year after year.

Maybe this will help those of us who cannot understand that: Rachel Maddow just did a report about how many of the millions upon millions of dollars bilked from hopeful Republicans, made their way NOT to any actual candidates, but instead to the pockets of those scam artists who convinced the feebleminded that if they would just mail in $2,500 to someplace like "Freedomworks" they'd make sure Obamacare got repealed.

Or that gay marriage would never destroy the American family.

Whatever hot button could be pushed to part silly people from their cash.

The truly sad part is that no matter how much reporting is done to expose such evil doings by the likes of Dick Armey, Mike Huckabee, and other charlatans, there will always be a huge amount of eager fools ready to empty their wallets.

Its hard to feel sorry for people THAT stupid.
