Final thought for the day.

I simply could not allow that last story be how we ended today.

I think considering the occasion this is much more appropriate.

being one of the greatest POTUS's ever.

That's why the trolls so mad, although I heard many, many complimentary Repubs comment on his speech, his family, and his common sense!
And on MLK day to boot?

It was a good day for progressives.
Today we celebrate, tomorrow we continue the struggle for equality and justice, one step at the time. The above is reminder that it takes courage to stand and speak for the rights of the disenfranchised.
    Thank you...

Anita, and just to prove to myself that I shall continue to speak and act, I paid my 2013 membership to Human Rights Campaign. Today the cost is $20.13 to join and they even throw in some touch screen friendly gloves. Did not need them.
Anyway, I thought that will be a good start for the new year. Also renewed my membership with Southern Poverty Law Center. It all works together, and as we have seen in the campaign, many small contributions add to some big money.

I'm with you, fromthediagonal. SPLC, HRC and Credo are three of my favorite causes.

My favorite moment, if I could pick just one, was when President Obama took time to look back and scan the crowd because he wouldn't see this again. That spoke to this man's character and vision. This speech wasn't for him, it was for all of us.

The presence of Reverend Martin Luther King's spirit was palpable during the ceremony and within the words of his speech. He referenced LGBT movement, marriage equality, women and global warming for the first time in one speech. I got goosebumps while watching it unfold.

“Just danced to “Let’s Stay Together” with the love of my life and the President of the United States. I’m so proud of Barack,” Michelle tweeted.

Aw, isn't this just SO sweet. I love our President and first lady.
