Yeager said he knows he's considered a radical in his views, but he's is not backing off comments that he will defend his right to bear arms in spite of getting death threats by email.
"It will be time to shoot people when the Constitution is set on fire," he told Channel 4 News. "If somebody comes to take my guns, I will shoot them."
According the Tennessee Department of Safety, Yeager is not a certified instructor. When asked about that, he said he allowed his license to expire.
The state also said Tactical Response is not a department-certified school.
What would George Washington do?
I'm pretty sure he would NOT shoot law enforcement officials, acting on laws passed by duly elected representatives, for doing their jobs.
I am not an expert on Washington, but that seems a reasonable assumption.
You know these guys are REALLY only helping those of us who want stricter gun laws make our case. I mean the very idea that they are building an arsenal in order to kill law enforcement personnel that they fear might come to take their guns is, in and of itself, more than enough reason to limit the number and types of weapons that they have access to.
After all for what purpose does an individual like this purchase armor piercing bullets and high caliber weapons if not to render the bulletproof vests of law enforcement officials useless?
Are they concerned that the local deer population has access to Kevlar?
But hey you gun nuts, you keep on talking. You are changing the possibility of passing stricter gun laws from impossible, to incredibly likely.
Thanks. the more level headed among us are in your debt.
When both sides refuse to consider the obvious flaws in American society that causes these shootings, it quickly becomes obvious that nothing meaningful will come out of government that will help to change things. If one listens carefully one will be able to discern that already even before Biden's attempt is made on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteWhile it's true that the NRA types are selfishly motivated in making their suggestions, it has to be unsettling that their idea of armed guards encircling schools is the only hope for a short term solution to keep the children safe.
Is it time yet to come to grips with the questions that need to be asked?
...it has to be unsettling that their idea of armed guards encircling schools is the only hope for a short term solution to keep the children safe."
Delete--------------------------------
It's only unsettling if you are foolish enough to think that that is the "only" way to keep schools safe, letting alone that it would make schools safer at all.
Suggesting that "both sides" are ignoring flaws in American society is just stupid.
I think the NRA should pay for it if by some slim chance that is what they end up doing.
DeleteI'm not sure exactly what you're saying. Plenty of people on the side of gun control are in favor of more (and more affordable) mental health treatment and anti-bullying programs.
DeleteWe "keep the children safe" by not ignoring warning signs and by funding our schools to the degree that teachers can attend to all their students and there are school counselors and psychologists.
To play devil's advocate, it is incredibly hypocritical for people to listen to this guy "threatening violence," disagree with him, and the threaten violence against him and his family. Then again, this is what idiots do when the have anonymity on their side.
ReplyDeleteThat said, this guy is still crazy.
-Rob
Rob: I disagree with this man vehemently, but wouldn't physically touch him...not in the least. Wish him harm? No, I just wish people like him wouldn't get the attention they do. But he's got it, and he's going to run with it. Right now, I would guess he's actually reveling in his 15 minutes..
DeleteIf he's been questioned by the Secret Service well, he brought it on himself, didn't he? He's no different that Ted Nugent.
Yes, he's crazy.
He's a harmless coward who craves attention, and he's getting it too. His behavior is being encouraged by the media. But he's not the type who will pick up his guns and go shoot up a school, muchless even go shoot another person. Albeit, his tough talk could be encouraging some others to take that kind of action. Would that be disappointing to the media if they found that they were at least partly responsible for violence being perped by his admirers? No, they would not find themselves complicit and would relish the great news it would make for them. This is America! This is the mindset that is fostered by continuous wars. It's the cycle of gun violence that won't be broken until the slaughter of human beings in other countries is stopped.
ReplyDelete"He's a harmless coward who craves attention, and he's getting it too. His behavior is being encouraged by the media. But he's not the type who will pick up his guns and go shoot up a school, muchless even go shoot another person."
Delete--------------------------------
How the hell would you know?
Does he have any unemployed kids at home? They might get tired of hearing their old man rant and rave and think the only way he'll pay attention to them is to go shoot up a school or shopping mall. I hope someone is checking out his whole family and circle of friends.
Delete10:24 - what planet are you posting from? The Palin living room?
DeleteHARMLESS coward?
DeleteYeager was a mercenary in that sandpit overseas... shooting up civilians. The families of the dead and wounded might disagree with your definition of harmless.
He'd go shoot up anything and anyone if he was paid enough.
You really have no idea, 10:24. Someone with that much irrational anger? Let's just say it wouldn't be surprising if he's physically assaulted a few people in his day.
DeleteThis dude could do us all a favor and shoot himself.
ReplyDeleteNew gun law restrictions will be passed. You have an ex-Congressman talking about spilling blood.

Why aren't they in jail?
Reposting a comment from HuffPo that I placed on the previous piece here about this RWNJ:
ReplyDelete"The media inflates this guy's importance by labeling him a "Tennessee CEO." He is essentially an unemployed ex-cop from rural Tennessee who is scraping around trying to make a living without holding a real job. He formed two "companies" of which he is the sole employee in order to create a revenue stream which can charge expenses in order to avoid taxes."
How many bites of the seditionist apple does one get?
ReplyDeleteAnd why do I get the feeling that if this clown were black or Muslim, he'd have been behind bars two days ago?
I expect he just landed himself on the FBI's Domestic Terrorist List. He'll be on the No-Fly List too, but I expect he doesn't venture too far out of his lair.....
DeleteIf he were black or Muslim, he would have been SHOT by now, not jailed. Or tied up behind some souped up Monster Truck and dragged down a back road until he fell apart.
DeleteThis man will run for public office in Tennessee and will be elected. I can see it coming.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolute ignorant idiot! I wished he would have explained what rights he feels have been taken away from him, and what he thought of Newtown. I would have also want to hear what he thought our founders meant in the 2 Amendment, and how today's culture has changed now that we have a standing Army. The interview did not go deep enough for me.
ReplyDeleteThey can never articulate what rights they have lost. I'm surprised there isn't a standard wingnut talking point making wacko false statements detailing the rights that they have lost.
DeleteI said it last night and I'm gonna say it again.....Dude got those CRAZY EYES!
ReplyDeleteHe has that prision white power look about him. I wonder if he has any tattoos.
DeleteYes, I wonder if he's related to Michele Bachmann...
DeleteDISARM THE CRAZIES!!
Is that moss growing on his chin? Yes, I'd have to agree. Meet the new senator from Tennessee.
ReplyDeleteAnyone believe he will quit carrying now that he no longer has a permit? Anyone?

Sorry, but 'testing' security by bringing a gun into a school should net you just as much jail time as talking about hijacking an airliner in an airport.
DeleteWow! If anybody did that at my kids' elementary school, I'd be livid. That moron is just lucky he wasn't tackled and beat up by teachers. This is the height of idiocy.
Deleteif the 2nd amendment is lawfully changed in some way he does not like, will he still obey the law?
ReplyDeleteor 'no, this is the way i like it'.

I see only TWO differences between this yapping yahoo Yeager and the psycho cases who've turned our movie theaters, shopping malls and kindergartens into shooting galleries:
ReplyDelete1. He's at least had the "courtesy" to warn us before opening fire.
and
2. The way to stop him is painfully obvious: poisoned tatoo ink.
Small penis, getting smaller with each video.
ReplyDeleteThat interviewer did not do the subject justice. She should have asked him what freedoms were being taken away and what has occurred to make him believe the Constitution has been eroded.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can't understand why journalists refuse to do follow-up questions when these idiots claim that their freedoms are being taken away and that the current administration is eroding the Constitution. It's infuriating when so-called professionals don't do their job.
DeleteExpanding domestic spying, eroding your right against unreasonable searches for starters.
DeleteI love this quote & thought--
ReplyDelete"Allow for the unrestricted ownership and use of guns and ammunition as they existed in 1789, when the Constitution and its first ten amendments were written. This would conform EXACTLY to the intent of the framers. It would satisfy the 2nd Amendment freedom to “bear arms,” without allowing for any deviations from ‘strict interpretationalism’ that would excuse the weaseling in of ownership of semi-automatic and automatic guns, and anything beyond ball, shot and black powder for ammunition: no full metal jackets, no nitrocellulose propellant, no late 19th century cordite-filled cartridges, not even percussion caps (from about 1830). Just flintlocks.
If it was good enough for the Founding Fathers, it’s good enough for you."
~Manuel Garcia jr.
You know, if gun control advocates were working only to keep guns out of the hands of crazy people, we could all work towards that goal. The problem is, they don't want to stop there. They want to take guns from sane law abiding citizens. And that is always going to be a sticking point in the gun control debate. It's a non starter with reasonable minded law abiding gun owners.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 1:03, the problem with your quote is that the 2nd Amendment was intended to give citizens a method of protecting themselves from a tyrannical government, which at the time was armed with muskets and cannons and swords. The founding fathers never dreamed of airplanes, nuclear subs, aircraft carriers, automatic weapons, or missiles fired from drones either. So using this logic, either citizens need to be armed with fully automatic weapons, jets with missiles, and nuclear weapons, or the military also needs to go back to muzzle loading weapons and swords.
ReplyDeleteThis ex-lawman is just a bully in a small charming old Southern town with less than 5000 people. If he passes out business cards with his CEO title on them at the little diner where all of the farmers and business people congregate there at lunchtime, I can only imagine the laughter and heckling he'd receive for putting on airs that he is anything more than a one-man shop with part-time hours.
ReplyDeleteOh, BTW, I've heard that Baldy looks just like this guy without her lego road kill wig with gorilla glue applied libeally for windy conditions. Except Sarah plucks the hair on her chin and above her lip daily. THAT must waste a few hours every day.

I think this guy's biggest nightmare would be a mandatory psych evaluation, more than anything else that comes from his lips. He's stuck on stupid, and no one's going to change his mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased that he and his ilk have volunteered to "brand" the pro-gun people, and I think they are as well, because no "sane" gun right people have come out against them.
I guess for me it's like "gun people" vs the people that I know and associate with. I don't know any "gun people", I don't get why they would own firearms. It makes no sense to me why anyone would own a gun. I don't understand the mentality and I never will. Us vs. Them, once again.
ReplyDelete"What would George Washington do?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure he would NOT shoot law enforcement officials, acting on laws passed by duly elected representatives, for doing their jobs."
All of those Redcoats, following the orders of their god-appointed leader were just doing their job.
Ditto the SS.
I'm not saying that we don't need to get a handle on firearms in this insane asylum of a country, but pick a better argument, please.
