Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Yep, that about sums it up.
That is also why her viewer numbers keep rising, while his are fading fast.
No wonder Hannity's viewership is falling - Rachel is far better educated than he, she does full research of her daily subjects and always tells the truth!
There is no comparison between the two. Dr. Maddow excels way beyond the capabilities of Hannity!
The Hamster is smug and self-assured with no apparent reason for either. His racialism is constantly exposed as he races to the side of any white who is supposedly the victim of reverse racism while totally ignoring true racism in our society. A friend to many neo-nazis(google HalTurner Sean Hannity) and wears his lack of education like a badge of honor.
I posted a reply to you on the Tulsi Gabbard thread, but Gryph hasn't cleared it yet.
You wrote: "When will we get our first Muslim or Agnostic Congress person?
Not it my lifetime."
Not to worry - it's already happening. Outgoing Pete Stark (D-CA) was an open atheist. Newly elected Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) is a nontheist.
There are two Muslims in Congress. Reps. Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Andre Carson (D-IN).
Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is the first Hindu only because the 2nd Hindu had to wait longer for his election to be confirmed. Ami Bera (D-CA) was raised Hindu, now associates with Unitarianism. A good Hindu can be a good Muslim, Christian, Jew, or whatever. It's a pretty broad way of thinking. For example, some Christians, such as Mother Theresa, are Hindu saints.
And our Buddhist Senator Hirono (D-HI) chose not to be sworn in with any religious affiliation. Rather, she took an oath of office. She has stated that she “believes in the precepts of Buddhism”, but doesn't practice it daily. If you research Buddhism, you'll see that it's more a state of being or attitude than a religion, in a Western sense of that word.
Perhaps what is more interesting is that all of the people mentioned above are Democrats?
Thanks, I learn something new every day, that's why I love IM'ers. I have a friend who practices Buddism and remains a member of the Catholic Church. Yeah, I doubt the GOP can/will ever change their ways.
Wonder if Hannity is also taking money from Freedom Works and their ilk to promote lies about Obama and lies about the true intent of the GOP? Since his main goal in life is money and not integrity, it wouldn't surprise me.
Hannity is disgusting. I only ever watch him for the disgusting factor, same as Palin. They both pile it on, disgusting disgusting disgusting, every time they appear. All talking points, all hate, no journalism, no fair and balanced. Gryphen's blog drew my attention to Rachel Maddow first (since I am overseas) and since then every single show of hers I have watched proves she is switched on and articulate and clearly knows what she is talking about. May her ratings continue to rise!
It's not just Hannity's lies, it's that smug smug look on his face as he tells them. He also tries to 'catch' people in his spider's web. He lures them into a sense of 'trust', then pulls the plug and bang, he's attacking them for their views and when they're trying to defend what they say, he stops the dialogue, saying there's no more time.
He puts the distortions and lies out there hoping his guest will play his game. When the guest tries to clarify Hannity's distorted facts, Hannity just shuts them off. Am surprised he doesn't have a switch under his desk that instantly sends his annoyed guest and the chair down a shaft to a feeding pool of sharks.
Rachel does her homework, dutifully researching the details of her subject so she gets the facts right. Anytime she has given incorrect or ambiguous information, she issues a correction.
Hannity, on the other hand, is completely full of shit, playing the monkey role to Roger Ailes' organ-grinding GOP propaganda machine.
I'm an independent whose politics lean just a little to the right of center, but I know who speaks the truth out of these two talking-heads, and it sure isn't Hannity.
In summary, Rachel is a left-leaning journalist who represents the truth and facts in her work, and Hannity is a lying shill cocksucker, regardless of the topic.

ReplyDeleteThere is no comparison between the two. Dr. Maddow excels way beyond the capabilities of Hannity!
Hannity does not know how to do anything but spew hate and lies. Hannity and Palin two peas in a pod.

ReplyDeleteHannity is a sociopathic entertainer like Limbaugh et al.. The knuckle draggers who follow him/them are the problem. They vote.
ReplyDeleteNOBODY can shine a light to the quality of Maddow's show, quality research and integrity in reporting.
ReplyDeleteThat sums it up perfectly! I can't compare the two, I never watched an entire segment of Hannity, but I know the game plan.
ReplyDeleteGo, Dr. Maddow!

Heh heh... the palin curse strikes, again.
ReplyDeleteI trust Rachel Maddow as much as I trusted Walter Cronkite.Hannity shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath.

I agree with you, but you stated it too nicely.
