Ellen scolds the Boy Scouts for not allowing gay members.

You know what I like about Ellen DeGeneres? She can get very upset about something but always seem so reasonable.

It seems she is constantly under attack by one fake million member group or another but she just stands there saying completely reasonable things, and asking people to be reasonable with her, and it just makes those on the other side seem...oh what's the word for it? Oh it will come to me later.

And of course this time she is right again.  None of us can truly rejoice in our many freedoms if they are not shared by ALL of us.

  2. How ironic that the founder of the Boy Scouts, Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell (raised to the peerage as Lord Baden-Powell), was, most likely, a repressed homosexual.

    Here's just a tidbit:

"Young “Stephe” was a sensitive boy who liked playing with dolls, and as he grew into a young man he formed deep attachments to other boys. Once in the army he made a name for himself playing female roles in army theatricals. Throughout his life he openly admired muscular men and pretty boys, while attractive women sent him into a state of anxiety; he was much more comfortable with plain, companionable ones. He was 55 before he decided to marry, but he panicked soon after his union with the lovely young Olave Soames, developing agonizing headaches that were relieved only when he left the matrimonial bed and returned to his ascetic soldier’s cot." --NYTimes

    O/T

Nancy Pelosi went on Fox News Sunday and absolutely destroyed the false premise that video games, not guns, are the main cause of gun violence.

Off topic. The Catholic Church claims to be 'Pro life' and pro family and all that sh*t. Time to confess some more sins. Babies sold and exported. More on the abuses the Catholic church is accused of in Ireland.

    ***Sinead O'Connor statement:
"Church must account for ‘stolen babies’ Saturday, February 09, 2013

SinĂ©ad O’Connor’s response to the published apology by the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity concerning the treatment of women in their care": http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/church-must-account-for-stolen-babies-222179.html

***"Up to 2,000 children were illegally exported from Magdalene laundries in Ireland to adoptive parents in the U.S., mainly to wealthy families.

Many of those children are now demanding justice for their birth parents and an apology from the Irish government who they say were totally complicit in the cover-up of what went on." http://www.irishcentral.com/news/2000-Irish-children-were-illegally-adopted-in-US-from-Magdalene-Laundries-189789961.html

***One of the Republican lawyers who helped implement the modern jerrymanders was one of those stolen Irish babies. From the Magdalene Laundry to the R.N.C. to the White House as George H. W.Bush's Chief Legal Counsel. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1216191/Stolen-mother--sold-highest-bidder.html#axzz2KX0S9P2J

It's time the Boy Scouts came around to the ways of the nation - gays should be allowed in their midst. It would teach the other boys acceptance, humility and not to be judgmental!

Gays are in their midst, has always been. This is just a formality. And pathetic.

I absolutely LOVE watching this woman get tickled. She is so relaxed and happy she just looses it! And best of all, she isn't embarrassed by it. She just LAUGHS!

I don't recall who said it, but it's so true. (paraphrased) "When justice is denied for oldne, justice is diminished for all"

Who, exactly, would a policy of inclusion in the boy scouts, hurt? Wouldn't teaching acceptance help these boys when they join society as a whole in the workplace?

I admire Ellen, she's very generous with her time and money. She tells jokes that are funny without hurting other people and she's an excellent role model for all people.
