I guess it is never too early to indoctrinate your children into hate.

Did you hear those "Christians" cheering?

I certainly hope that there are no children in that audience who are going to have to grow up hiding who they are from these hate filled religious zealots.

But you know statistically speaking it is virtually guaranteed that there are.

I couldn't watch anymore after the song, and the clapping and woo-hoo-ing. I'm so disgusted with this. Although in my years of church experience, I've never seen or heard anything like this. They are proud and pleased of themselves aren't they?

They're teaching those kids to look down on others and curse them to hell. I'm telling you folks, these people are not 'christians' in any sense of the word. Anyone who reads through the 4 gospels can see that these people haven't yet got the revelation of who Jesus is.

You'll never convince them hating others is not Christian. Of course, they would say they hate anyone, but what else could you describe this as being anything other then teaching their children to hate those who don't fit their narrow view of what is a "Christian". It's very sad, and it seems Fox and other media outlets are giving a disapportionate amount of attention to the religious far right.

My God, that's disgusting. There's so many things wrong with this, and to begin how about psychological child abuse?

That is a perfect illustration of the bigotry, hatred, ignorance, and vicious xenophobia first turned me away from the church I attended as teenager, many moons ago.

Also, please note the bible verse that they roll after they're done inculcating this young boy with their hatred, prejudice, and condescending bigotry.

It's a verse from Corinthians, written by the most dogmatic, rabid, and legalistic Pharisee that ever came down the pike.

Paul of Tarsus, is personally responsible for much of the blindness and suffering that people have endured over the millenia since he penned his militant screeds.

His writings, arbitrarily included in the bible at the Council of Nicea in 325 AD, were deemed "inspired"

Many don't realize that the Catholic bible has 7 more books than the 66 in the protestant bible. These old men in 325 AD decided the fate of billions based on their already fossilized tradtions.

Once his biased letters made it into the final cut of the 66 books, they suddenly became absolute truth, instead of just the opinion of one narrow minded and pedantic old man.

He's the guy that decided that women couldn't be pastors, or teachers, and that they had to cover their heads, dress modestly, and be good little sheep while their husbands strut about like peacocks lording over them.

He's the guy that decided that slavery was a good thing, and slaves had to obey, or die trying, because Paul said so.

He's the guy who touted celibacy, and let all others know they MUST marry if the can't be celibate, bringing a bargeload of good Christian guilt to everyone in the world

The people in that church should be completely ashamed of themselves

I agree. And you know children at that age...when they do something that gets approval or laughter from adults they keep doing it because it feels good to get the attention from adults. He doesn't even know what he is saying - just that the big folks like what he's doing.

I am sure this church is filled with Republicans keeping fear and hate alive. When these children are free from their parents, Fox news and this horrible church....they either discover the world as it really is and become atheists, or they keep the tradition alive for their children. One hopes there are more of the latter which explains why more and more people are leaving the bible thumpers. Critical thinking is what they fear the most, how truly sad this video is.

Sharon, did you REALLY mean to say you hope that there are more of the children that RETAIN what this one is being taught? I sincerely hope you meant to say that it is your wish they become atheists - and that would mean you SHOULD have said FORMER, not latter.

And why is this group not classified as a hate group?
Any idea where this was, and don't just say the south 'cause I already figured that one out. No, I am not picking on southerners. I am one and a liberal one at that.

Teach a child to hate, and guess what happens?

The kid learns to hate and grows up to be a narrow-minded bigot, ust like mommy and daddy, and Brother Rufus, their preacher and pseudo 'spiritual leader '.

Those adults in the video probably learned to hate from their parents and pastors. Why they would continue the process, I don't know, but they seem to be awfully proud of themselves and the job they've done in successfully indoctrinating those poor kids into their own hateful mindset.

Ignorant bigots and proud to be that way. Welcome to Tennessee. Glad y'all can see how the other half lives. Actually, I'd estimate these folks make up 20-25%. The same number might agree on many of the social and racial issues, but they're more adept about keeping a lid on their own bigotry, or are perhaps a wee bit more intelligent than these rednecks.

Reminded me of the last time I attended a church service. 1968 Toronto, Canada. I'd done something the night before that made me feel guilty.

I cleaned myself up nicely, but my hair was still long, so a couple of "deacons" ran up to block my way into the building.

I must have come off peaceful enough, as they let me in. I sat alone on a pew, as the minister launched into a 15 minute "comedy" set on how terrible hippies are.

Wow, I thought to myself...THIS is what has become of the Protestant "faith" in just a few short years?

I left, afraid the next part of the show would be that they'd hand out pointy headed sheets for us to put on, and go out to burn crosses on lawns.

I kept looking around the congregation, hoping to spot at least ONE person looking sane, who was not liking this any more than I was. Saw nothing but "tombstones in their eyes" as the song goes.

    Sad.

That's child abuse of the worse kind. Those kids have no clue what "homo" means, can you imagine growing up gay and knowing the people who profess to love God hate you?

Typical of IGNORANT white fundie churches. Teach your kids to hate and get them early. I'm sure Sarah Palin would love this church, these are her people.
