Leave it to Stephen Colbert to have the best take on the Rubio water grab EVER!

And if you like that, you are going to LOVE this!

Oh my God, that was hilarious!

You know I was watching Rachel Maddow yesterday and she essentially pleaded with the Republicans to NEVER put one of their politicians in the position of giving the response to the SOTU speech ever again, as it is the kiss of death for them.

I disagree. In fact watching them fail so spectacularly may be my FAVORITE part of the SOTU night.

Rubio is lucky that people are talking about his Big Gulp instead of his finances:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/13/marco-rubio-finances_n_2678744.html

Here are some quotes from the article:
Virtually broke, the 31-year-old lawmaker began campaigning to be House speaker in 2003 and created a political committee -- Floridians for Conservative Leadership -- to help elect other Republican candidates and curry their support.

With his wife serving as treasurer, Rubio did not wait for the state to authorize the committee before accepting campaign donations.

The committee listed its address as Rubio's home, a modest place he and his wife bought in West Miami in 2002, but reported spending nearly $85,000 in office and operating costs and $65,000 for administrative costs.

Over 18 months, nearly $90,000 went for political consultants, $51,000 went for credit card payments and $4,000 went to other candidates. That's less than the $5,700 that went to his wife, Jeanette, much of it for "gas and meals.'' (Mrs. Rubio does not work and the couple file joint tax returns.)

Pretty spectacular take-down of Rubio’s SOTU response

    Rubio’s Pathetic, Exhausted, Vapid Response

...This was an intellectually exhausted speech that represents the intellectual bankruptcy of contemporary Republicanism. It was a series of Reaganite truisms that had a role to play in reinvigorating America after liberal over-reach in the 1960s and 1970s. It had precious little new in it. If reciting these platitudes in Spanish is what the GOP thinks will bring it back to anything faintly resembling political or intellectual relevance, they are more deluded than even I imagined.

OT -- the pee pond is up in arms about a blog post at Field and Stream. Seems ol' Sarah's being criticized for her lack of shooting skills.

Would you call this home "modest"?

    Typical bullshit on Huffington.

His income is $174,000 which is above "middle class" also.

Always remember. Marco Rubio is to republicans as Perez Hilton is to the LGBT people. Or Cuban-Americans to Latinos. Just a bunch of wannabe's.

Oh, yes it was! Both of these clips made me laugh, but that second one with the mis-generated translations was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time.

    Colbert was hilarious!
And yes, 10:08, Rubio should be happy that everyone is talking about his water grab instead of his finances.

  7. I haven't heard anyone mention the similarity between Rubio's water-grab and Ryan's constantly drinking water during the Vice Presidential debate. Maybe serious dehydration explains the impaired mental capacity of the young Republicans, or maybe it's Freudian, all that lying causes their mouths to malfunction.

Rut Roh. Field and Stream. They gave her a kick now when no one is watching.
    http://wonkette.com/501546/field-stream-gun-nuts-columnist-zapruders-sarah-palin#more-501546

"Ms. Palin is an extremely inexperienced shooter.

First, she allows her dad and the guide, who are both apparently nitwits, to jabber at her continually throughout the performance, make suggestions, swap rifles when it turns out that the first one has a bum scope (!), and allow her to blaze away at a moving animal.

An experienced shooter knows that when he (she) picks up a gun, he (she) is responsible for it, and the way it works. If you have doubts about its safety, you don’t use it. Before you shoot at something living, you check to see if it’s sighted in. Period. No excuses.

If nitwits are yammering at you, you tell them to shut the f**ck up because you can’t concentrate. No experienced shooter would put up with their nonsense.

An experienced shooter would not ask if a rifle kicks before using it in the heat of battle. That would not be uppermost in their mind; getting the animal down would be. "

    Countdown to FB rant begins.

Here's Sarah's "retort" according to Chuckie...

As Sarah explains, “He’s the typical lying SOB-type that I’ve been dealing with since 2008. I’m very disappointed in Field & Stream for printing his garbage. This made-up fantasy of the columnist ranks right up there with yesterday’s report in the Washington Post that claims I’m working for Al Jazeera. My retort to that one was: ‘Uum, right… and tomorrow I’m having coffee with Elvis at the Mocha Moose in Wasilla.’ Really, these silly people need to get a life!”

I couldn't stop laughing, both were over the top funny, but the second had me in stitches! The rebuttal wasn't anywhere near the substance of the SOTU speech delivered by the President, but all everyone's making fun of was his big gulp moment. Can't wait to see what SNL does with it!
