Bill Maher takes on food in America.

"If we don't fix how we grow food and don't stop turning our oceans into a carbon sink for coal... your grandkids are going to grow up dreaming of getting some horse meat while they munch down on their McPlankton sandwich."

Do I really need to remind you that this is NSFW?

Poor people do not have access to fresh fruits and vegetables - cannot afford them and are eating the wrong types of food, which lends to our obesity throughout the US.

We are the most screwed up country in the world and it makes me sick to my stomach literally.

Our oceans are polluted therefore so are the fish and other products we eat. The oil industry is making a total mess of things (Gulf of Mexico) and I make sure I buy zero fish products that come from down there!

It's all about the almighty dollar and our government and corporations could give a shit less about the people that are on the earth.

I just finished watching Maher's show and when I came to IM -- here you have a post.

It was a good show this week. I didn't feel like stabbing a knife in my eye listening you some Rethug spew more BS.

I do have to say, I laughed at Steve Schmidt's question and his responses in Overtime about Palin. When Maher asked him if she's learned anything -- NO.

I can hear the knives coming out on twitter & FB.

We all know that Schmidt still hasn't told everything about Sarah Palin and the campaign. Sure, it was brave of him to come out with what he did, but he still has a lot of secrets that could bury Sarah (and McCain, too, which is probably why he's censored himself).

"Oh, and Mr.Schmidt take note of the links in the above OpEd as they are just a small glimpse of the documentation we have on you, should you attempt yet another campaign to smear Governor Palin and her record in order to cover your own failings and disastrous management skills please be advised that not only are we armed with facts we are also loaded for bear and entirely trigger happy where you and your ilk are concerned.
      You've been warned."
Wow,talk about frothing at the mouth..I have no doubt that if Mr.Schmidt had been in front of this Mary Beth House c4p moderator and zealot Palin disciple, she would have shot him first and asked questions later.
      Wow..just wow.

    He is so right on.
Except for the CA voted no on that. They were "snookered"
snookumed? by ALEC propaganda same as Prop 8 bullshit LIES that this was going to increase the Cost of FOOD! LIES
But some old people don't have the internets and fox news plays in the Senior centers.
So yes, some of CA were
"snookumed" (Right Sarah?) into voting NO on that. Everyone I talked to voted YES! We always look at what's in our food and won't eat HFCS and crap like that.
Bill's totally right as usual, just like when he called palin a cunt!
    You go Bill!

Bill Maher: China Requires GMO Labeling, But America The Land of The Free Does Not

Bill Maher was talking about how Americans are outraged by the horse meat scandal, but the majority of us appear not to care about what is really in our food, when he said, “Fifty other countries require GMO labeling including most of Europe, Japan, Australia, India, Saudi Arabia, China. That’s right, China. A country that puts Melamine, a chemical fire retardant, in their baby formula. Which sounds irresponsible, but come on, when was the last time you saw a Chinese baby catch on fire? But hey, let’s look at the silver lining. It’s actually a good thing that Americans don’t care what they put in their mouth, because in the future thanks to overpopulation, and over fishing, and global warming, and Chris Christie, we’re running out of the food we do like to eat.”

Dairygate the grift that keeps on giving?

"Cheese war: State dumps tons of cheddar from defunct Mat-Su dairy"

    http://www.adn.com/2013/03/01/2807739/cheese-war-state-dumps-tons-of.html

""We thought the cheese that was stored in the cooler inside, that a good portion of that would be acceptable. But after looking closer we found mouse droppings around and on the cheese, cheese where mice had burrowed into the cheese.”

Dairy board member and investor Jake Libby calls McFarland's description of the cheese "complete and utter BS.""
