Rachel Maddow brilliantly demonstrates how the gun manufacturers are using cigarette manufacturer's tactics to fight new gun control laws. This is a MUST see!

As a rule I don't like to post two MSNBC clips in one day, as I think it can be seen as a little lazy on my part, or because the shows often cover similar topics.

However what Rachel did last night was a masterpiece. and is SO clearly true that it should be seen by EVERYBODY who is paying attention to the gun violence debate in this country.

Hopefully we will soon see the day that gun manufacturers are forced to pay for advertisements declaring the inherent danger of their products just like cigarette manufacturers do today.

It is so telling to see them side by side like Rachel did, Brilliant!
But...the gun manufacturers are immune to be held responsible? That has got to change and be retroactive.
We should probably contact Gabby and see what her org can do about getting this changed.

Is it just me or does Wayne LaPierre look like the separated-at-birth twin of Martin Mull?

That made me laugh. I didn't see it before because the old whack job never smiles. Good catch.

What a brilliant comparison, Rachel brought up the gun industry's immunity from prosecution and this has got to change! Every other industry is held accountable for what their products do, why did the Republicans give them immunity? Follow the money...

The Cig Lobby pioneered astro-turfing that mainstreamed the anti-tax movement and came in handy in building the toxic assets culture. Tea Party took to it like a hardy spore.

NRA sponsored irresponsible gun headline: TV show trophy hunter & Guns & Ammo editor shot dead by jealous wife beater

(Guns don't kill people, good men with guns kill bad guns with men or something...)

41-year-old Wayne Bengston, “came into the house, immediately shot Mr. Rodríguez and killed him almost instantly...... Bengston beat his wife before leaving with her 2-year-old son.

  7. Which red, white & blue freedoms were protected by the wife beater's gun?

In other news provider -- Rodriguez met the pistol whipped woman, who is a firearms manufacturer, at a trade show. The force of irony strong with this shiny twinkly new gun death.

Karma is a mother...just not the one who bakes cookies: trophy hunter is being stuffed & mounted in the animal afterlife after learning what it feels like to be gunned down..

    1. since no option to edit/update will reply again --The loud proud NRA member & dead trophy hunter, Rodriquez has been virulently ranting against gun control/regulations because guns don't kill people?

      His karma is whiplash, squared.

Gryphen....thank you soooo much for posting this, you consistently keep this blog current and relevant. There is one thing that Rachel does like no one else....her attention to detail and facts are second to none. She begins with a time line on one subject and flawlessly slides into the current topic exposing how history repeats itself. This story needs to go national...viral, it is sickening how Congress screws us time and time again. I sure hope the Dems use all of this in 2014.
