Christians mock the idea of gays coming out to their loved ones.

I don't want to be mean but couldn't they have found some more attractive people to use in this video? (I think the man's mustard stained shirt really set the tone.)

Here is how the video is described on the Faith2Action website:

Here’s the latest clip from the documentary footage. Please take two and a half minutes to see why loving someone doesn’t mean you have to embrace everything they do. We just completed 20 more interviews for the Criminalization of Christianity documentary–with your help, we will make the case for marriage before it’s too late.

The documentary they are referring to is the one that insists that gay marriage will destroy Christianity

So apparently these "loving" Christians are perfectly okay with you being a homo and all, just so long as you live a life of celibacy and loneliness. After all why should people who are grossed out by your sexuality have to deal with knowing about it?

The lack of critical thinking skills with this group is really apparent in this issue. Just what exactly can two same-sex people enjoying the same legal rights as two opposite-sex people do to "destroy" marriage for heteros? Prove how boring and colorless their own marriages are?

Didn't you hear about how the legalization of same sex marriage caused thousands of traditional marriages here in NY to be destroyed and the entire state to be swallowed into the fiery pits of hell?

      You didn't hear about that??

Maybe because NOTHING HAPPENED to all those heterosexual couples! Not a single one of them was harmed in the making of this civil rights legislation.

And I know that nothing happened to me personally unless, of course, the fiery pits of hell look remarkably like a western NY suburb!

Ewww. These hypocrites are even bad at playing gay (considering so many of them are in the closet.)

They aren't playing gay; the man is playing a cheating husband, one woman his dumb wife and the other woman his FWB.

I think the whole point of this stupid video is that if heteros should be forced to accept gay marriage then cheating would be hunky-dory also.

All-in-all, it's amateurish and dumb, missing the point altogether. I'm glad they have each other.

These ugly, vile and hateful people aren't worthy of family love either.

And the baby Jebus weeps for these lost people.

There is a 50% divorce rate in this county, they should be working harder to keep their christian marriages together and stop worrying about how others would like to live their lives.

Dude needs a "bro" or a "mansierre", just saying, his man boobs are grossin' me out! I guess I feel the same about fat people as they feel about gay people.

Thing is, these people have made a conscious choice to eschew exercise and healthy diet and they are fat and gross; that is their choice. Some who are homosexual don't consciously choose to be homosexual, they just are, they are born that way.

These gross fatties choose to be that way, and society judges them pretty harshly for their choice. They cost us more in medical care and they demand that airlines give them seatbelt extenders because they are too fat to buckle up. The ick factor on this video is so high I can't even properly express my outrage.

Also too, they choose to be sanctimonious christians that often can't even live up to the standards they hold others to. These people are just gross, in so many ways.

Let's just roll them in flour and let god sort 'em out :-)

  8. At first I thought I was watching a parody of a John Waters film from his early/nasty Pink Flamingo days. Then it hit this was the real thing. Those obese, ignorant people will never further their crusade to win over anyone who has an ounce of critical thinking skills. Rick (Frothy Mix) Santorum summed it up perfectly in one of his speeches when he said, "We will never get the smart, elite people to join our party."

That has got to be the most ridiculous video I have ever seen!! How extremely ignorant these people are. Clueless, just clueless.

Christians are destroying christianity all by themselves by exposing their ignorance and hypocrisy. They can't blame it on homosexuals, immigrants, or anyone else.

  12. I was inclined to laugh at first, but it got worse and worse until I felt revulsion, and finally shame on their behalf. The man who brought up the warped alcoholism analogy was probably the worst of all. What kind of universe do these people inhabit?

In some sense, they are more to be pitied than scorned. The film was made for people who share the same badly-skewed world view. They must know that no one with any sense will be swayed by the video. The "actors" probably have IQs in the dull normal range. Gryphen noted what looked like a food stain on the man's shirt, and all of them were morbidly obese.

Rabbi Saunders in Chaim Potok's "The Chosen" counseled his son, when encountering ignorant bigots, to "pity them the pain of their ignorance," difficult as that may be.

Using this failed logic, the following would be my response to Peter La Barbera of "Americans for Truth" (Whose truth?WTF?)

That would be like a friend coming to me and saying "I have a Bible Problem" and me saying, "Gosh, I love you so much, I'm giving him a Bible every month."

    That's not how it works.

You don't love the behavior just because you love the person.

There's some really messed up stuff on you tube!

For the better part of ten years, I was an advocate and spokesman for what’s known as the “ex-gay movement,” where we declared that sexual orientation could be changed through a close-knit relationship with God, intensive therapy and strong determination. At the time, I truly believed that it would happen. And while many things in my life did change as a Christian, my sexual orientation did not.

    1. If you are indeed John Paulk, you have blood on your hands through your actions and advocacy of the ex-gay movement. How many suicides and broken lives is your ex-gay movement responsible for? Like the Phelps woman who left Westboro Baptist you have a lot to answer for.
Your past shows you to be a grifter in the Sara Palin class in my book.
It will take some pretty strong actions to get any compassion from me.

My daughter is gay. I love her and I love her partner. However, the fact that she isn't hetero bothers my stepson and his wife tremendously. They think they are being "tolerant" but that means they haven't completely cut her out of their lives. Thanks a lot, right?
I know for a fact that my daughter and her partner haven't done a thing to threaten my stepson's marriage, and I know I don't spend 10 seconds thinking about what they do with their private parts. Why are they so worried about what my daughter does with her's?
I am so pissed off about their reaction at discovering my daughter was gay ("disappointment") that I'm having a hard time being around them. The marriage equality debate has brought their bigotry right out in the open and it's caused a lot of friction in the family to say the least.
They probably have this video posted on their facebook pages.
