I just finished watching the news conference, and above is the video they provided and the images we need to exam can be found here.
The FBI was adamant that only THESE photographs should be used to help identify the suspects and that all other photographs should be considered suspect.
I do not want to read too much into these, but one thing I will point out is that they are certainly NOT the brown skinned people that John King identified on CNN.
Update: Here are the suspects for those having trouble accessing the FBI page.
Update 2: If you do recognize them please call 1-800- CALL FBI (225-5324)
Update 3: It looks like the folks on Reddit may have already identified the hat worn by one of the suspects.
Look familiar?
Update 4: Here is link to all of the photos.
If I were these guys I would be crapping myself right about now.
Those guys are obviously members of Friends of Hamas.
ReplyDeleteSure, whatever, you just keep going on your racist way and keep bringing America down.
DeleteI;m pretty sure that Anonymous 1:56 was joking.
DeleteAt least I hope they were joking.
And you are obviously a very sick and foolish person.
Delete@1:56 PM:
DeleteRight, because white people never blow up shit, right?
OMG, don't you people keep up with news that don't involve Palin?
DeleteYes Gryphen, it was a joke. I'm the OP at 1:56.
"Friends of Hamas" doesn't exist. It was all part of a big (hilarious) screw-up reporting job done by Ben Shapiro at Breitbart. Oh, just Google it.
Calm down, folks. It was sarcasm.
Also: Sarah Palin is a soulless harpy.
Guys, Friends of Hamas is the fictional organization made up by Ted Cruz during the Chuck Hagel hearings. Anon is definitely joking.
DeleteI think he was joking. But Hamas isn't anything to joke about. They are terrorists who teach their kids to hate and use innocent people as human shields. I'm sure they have nothing to do with this bombing. Weird comment. Strange thing to joke about.
DeleteAnon 2:24-- pointing out that Hamas are terrorists isn't racist. They are terrorists. The person joking is an idiot but racist? ??
DeleteMost Muslims want nothing to do with Hamas. Please do not speak in defense of my people (Arab Muslims) and assume we are offended by comments against Hamas. Just like you hate the fringe RW in your country, we hate Hamas and aren't the same as them.
1:56 & 2:49 -- totally forgot about virgin Ben's role in the whole Friends of Hamas. Thanks!
DeleteThe most hunted men in the world. I hope they're scared like little boys. They will soon be arrested.
ReplyDeleteThey are walking dead men. Good job FBI!
DeleteHow do you know? The picture of suspect #2 is clearer. Suspect#2 looks like Timothy McVeigh (who was white), to me!
ReplyDelete@1:56 PM:
DeleteHow do you know? The picture of suspect #2 is clearer. Suspect#2 looks like Timothy McVeigh (who was white), to me!
You do know that McVeigh is dead as a doornail, right?
DeleteYes, I know Timothy McVeigh is as "dead as a doornail." But, that doesn't mean that Suspect #2 can't resemble a dead guy. I wasn't saying the suspect IS Timothy McVeigh, I was saying he looks like him.
Delete2:29pm
DeleteWell, I guess there is something to be said for seeing one domestic terrorist's face in the face of another. These images seem to be burned into some people's consciousness, however, I don't really see it.
2:41 PM:
DeleteMy real point is, that some people are saying things like, these people are "obviously members of Friends of Hamas." My point is, that there are
a lot of white men that look just like both of those guys.
When the media was saying that the suspects were dark-skinned, they were calling them terrorists, now that they look like they could be white, the media is now calling them "gentlemen," or "young men."
Now, that the two suspects aren't dark-skinned, a lot of people (especially the media) are scrambling to determine if they came from anywhere else in the world (including Northern Europe), and are anything, but white Americans.
<< this is 1:56 again.
DeleteGryphen, I am sorry... I honestly did not mean to "troll" your site. I actually thought that "Friends of Hamas" blunder was more widely known, and that my sarcasm was painfully obvious.
Sigh. I think I'll stick with Twitter for a while.
Don't fret, some of us got it! Pretty good one, BTW.
DeleteSo much for the "dark-skinned" darkie in the hoodie CNN was pushing.
ReplyDeleteIt is very obvious to me that the backpacks they are carrying are heavy by the way they are leaning over slightly and walking carefully. Well done, FBI! Now I hope someone identifies them very quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe one on the right looks like he has a disguise on. His nose doesn't look right. It could be some shading, though.
ReplyDeleteHis nose doesn't look right? What do you mean. Like a Jew nose? Maybe it's Jews trying to blame this on Arabs. Could that be..?
DeleteNo, I didn't mean anything like that...I meant that it looks several shades lighter and it looks like he's wearing a disguise. Just like I fucking said. Geez, jump to conclusions much?
DeleteMossad is always a possibility, acting on behalf of the Neocon Zionist perpetual war-mongers. . But not as a representative of the Jewish people. These kids are more likely to be stooges if they are the real perpetrators---like drug mules bringing the goodies across the border from Mehico. In other words, doing someone else's dirty work at arm's length. I hope the FBI solves this soon.
DeleteHaven't you ever seen two girls kissing? Then you know what them Lebanese look like, doofus.
DeleteIf Sarah Palin had her way and the government stayed out of this, we wouldn't have this much information.
ReplyDeleteThank you United States of America government employees. We appreciate your hard work and dedication.
Yes indeed, thank you. And yes it's good to pay taxes to support good government.
DeleteI give those assholes just a couple of hours before someone recognizes one or both and makes the phone call.
ReplyDelete~Canuck~
I shared the photos of the suspects on facebook and one of my father's teaparty friends messaged me "does that guy look AMERICAN!!!! He looks Lebanese to me!"
ReplyDeleteSigh.
I responded by telling him about how I've gotten hate mail on facebook with strangers calling me a Muslim devil, so obviously I don't "look American" either. (and for the record, I'm native american and caucasian).
What does a "Lebanese" look like? Is it different than "Syrian"? Sheesh!
DeleteTime to block your dad's friends from your FB page!
I know, that's what I wanted to ask. Like, did you just pull "Lebanese" out of your ass?
DeleteIt looks as though the pics are clear enough for someone to ID them and I'm guessing someone will come forward. The cap is a Bridgestone Golf cap which should make it easier to ID the one guy through sales records since I doubt there are many sold. I don't see a Timothy McVeigh look alike here at all The two appear to be the same age...perhaps mid to late 20's but the ethnicity from these pics is hard to discern other than the fact that neither look Asian or Black.
ReplyDeleteSheesh
I want to reach through my TV and strangle the mother-fuckers.
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking about Columbine. The two young men walking single file into the school.
ReplyDeleteThat awkward moment when you're scratching your balls the entire time the Boston bomb suspects walk by:
ReplyDeletehttp://cdn.theatlanticwire.com/img/upload/2013/04/18/boston-marathon-suspects-gif-3.gif
What I find odd is the guy in the khaki's and what appears to be dress shoes. I don't think this would be a fashion choice for someone in their 20's. So that may help someone ID him faster. I hope they are caught today!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the law enforcement community has combined the use of the latest and most complex technology with the use of social media to identify and (hopefully) catch these people.
ReplyDeleteCompare the way they used to hunt for criminals...pictures sent to police agencies with tens of thousands of LEOs looking for them. Now, in a matter of minutes, there are tens of millions of people looking at these pictures.
I hope these two men are as terrified as the people who were at the finish line on Monday. And I hope they are identified and caught quickly.
I looked at these several minutes and wonder if they are 'for real'? could they be wearing those fancy vinyl masks like they show on that reality show about movie makeup?
ReplyDeleteas noted above, suspect #1 outfit seems off; and #2 just seems too cocky...knowing they are on CCTV.
and what about the young woman in bright yellow, carrying a heavy pack, following them in all three shots?
I watched the footage several times and wondered about the woman in the yellow too. Curios. Very curious indeed.
DeleteI certainly don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but come on. These two people? They are SUSPECTS. Maybe they ARE guilty. But maybe they aren't, too.
ReplyDeleteWe have gone backwards a lot in the past couple of decades what with all of the attacking we have done and the wars we have started. We have lost a lot of "high ground" the US was known for. Yes, most of that was due to assholes like Bush and Cheney (ESPECIALLY those two!), but I don't recall any SERIOUS complaining done by the American people about it. There were some voices, but not that many compared to what there should have been. No big demonstrations like the Vietnam war. While they might not have done any good, they existed and forced a lot of people to THINK.
So here's what I suggest. Let's just stop with the name calling and the race "identification" and the "reaching through the TV" to strangle them.
There IS a chance they are innocent and these guys - if they ARE innocent - are going to have a really tough time from now on if their names are released.
Why don't we sit back (unless you are a person who CAN tell the FBI who they are!) and let them do their jobs. Then when charged we can give them a completely fair trial.
If they are found guilty?
THEN we can hang them, publicly, in Boston Square!
Okay. Rant over. You can jump my bones about it now.
Let's just throw them in Guantanamo or rendition them to one of our Eastern European "facilities" and torture them. Or maybe we should just have a drone drop a bomb on them, and their families. That my friend is the American way; public hangings are so 1800's.
DeleteAhh, modern technology! Cell Phone Cameras, Security Cameras, ATM machine cameras. Imagine the sheer volume of raw data the FBI must be getting!
ReplyDeleteYeah, if they're smart, they'd walk into the nearest Police Station and give it up.
I cheered when they caught the killers of the Sheriff , his wife and the DA, then the Elvis Impersonator who sent the ricin letters.
Let's face it, once you're on reddit, you're basically toast!
I wondered about the hat and I'm glad it has been ID'd. Also, as we have learned here: look at their ears. A great identifier. Nothing unusual about either except, to me, the one in the white cap is either pigeon-toed or bow-legged. Has an unusual gait. So average looking really. Could be anyone.
ReplyDeletehere is an enlarged photo that shows a clearer picture of Suspect #2
ReplyDeletehttp://img.gawkerassets.com/img/18l25zqgfs7gvjpg/original.jpg
See him there in the white ball cap to the left? What's more interesting is the OTHER man in the background toward the center of the photograph. He's to the right of the woman wearing all pink... hat look familiar? Methinks it's Suspect #1
This apparently is the guy in the white cap:

Update: Second suspect identified as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, not missing Brown student

ReplyDeleteBingo.
