Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

My favorite Catholic priest Father Guido Sarducci explains life and heaven, and for the first time it actually makes sense to me.
Okay now this almost makes me wish there was a heaven. I totally understand the whole pay your own way system.
I am just happy the penalty for masturbation seems so reasonable.
Religion is like masturbation. When its done in the privacy of your own home it just doesn't matter, when you take it out in public and do it in a group setting it gets real sick, nasty and perverted.
I've just returned from a late-night tour of the major Palin spots, which I do irregularly (thanks to Gryphen, who keeps us up-to-date). Harking back to the fact that Sarah didn't understand the primal importance of Easter vs. Christmas when she started bleating about a "war on Christmas" in December, I discovered that on Good Friday, an immensely solemn day of silence and reflection, she was chipper and up-beat. "Happy Good Friday!" she proclaimed to one and all. Sarah, it's moments like this that reveal to us that you haven't a clue about the religion you claim to believe in. Easter Day is a day of celebration for Christians, because "He is Risen." It's the most crucial element of a belief in Christianity. Likewise, the day on which he died, Good Friday, is a day of quiet contemplation. "Happy Good Friday!" indeed. Please go to church and learn what it is you're talking about.
The walk taken by Palin and Brewer was most unfortunately, and blithely, named "Strike Out" against child abuse. Sadly, the idea of someone "striking out" is engraved in my mind as the most violent form of child abuse. What a strange, unconscious signal to be sending to the public.
You mean to say that it's entirely reasonable to have a penalty for masturbation at all??
ReplyDeleteYou're just happy it's a 'cheap' one?

ReplyDeleteYou nailed it!
DeleteWell put! May I borrow?
DeleteMy second favorite clip, ever, of Reverend Guido Sarducci. I wish he'd come out of retirement, would love his "take" on today's culture.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first -
