Rachel Maddow on the lies Republicans are telling about changing their policies on social conservatism. "Look at what they are doing, not what they're saying."

Rachel Maddow on the lies Republicans are telling about changing their policies on social conservatism. "Look at what they are doing, not what they're saying." Rachel did so many great segments last week that I did not get a chance to post them all, but this one is too important to leave out.

  1. OT/ over at Malia Litman's, they're saying they have video of Palin's latest and greatest update on the Wild Ride 5.0 (given at the Terri Shaivo event).
Apparently Sarah is now saying she didn't even KNOW she was pregnant until she was almost 7 months along! I think they're working on getting the video uploaded.

Sarah Palin is a piece of work - a shoddy one at that!

Someone (that has all the video connections) should put them ALL up for everyone to review where she discusses her supposed pregnancy, the wild ride and the miracle birth in Wasilla, AK.

The lies would be so, so apparent.

For most of my adult life I've been watching couples get divorced. Where I live we have no-fault divorce (evidenced by one year's separation) and what I see during that one year is this:

A couple breaks up. It's horrible. It's heartbreaking. They're shocked. They're angry. Their feelings are raw. They cry. They do crazy things while trying to keep their KIDS sane.

Then the year is up. Both of them have adjusted to their living circumstances, they've stopped crying, they're not crazy any more, and their kids have survived.

Then the divorce rears its head, just like picking at a scab - and all the progress they've fought to make during the previous year is gone and it's back to crazy, pain and crying, for another year while the custody, support, property and divorce proceedings grind on.

This is what I've seen time and time again, it's never been any different. (I don't think any of my friends are over-emotional, I think marriage break-up can make you temporarily insane.) It got so I asked a divorce lawyer why the legislation doesn't require two years of separation, to give couples enough time to heal so that they could withstand the emotional onslaught of divorce. He told me that statistically a couple that haven't reconciled within one year is not likely to ... and the legislation was based on facts and research, and not common sense.

I agree, Divorce is never easy, but at least both people realize that living a lie "for the sake of the kids" isn't healthy nor living the truth.
The worst part of this post, to me, is being forced to stay married to someone who physically, emotionally, or spiritually abuses their partner. That's beyond the pale.

Thank God for Rachel Maddeow and her researched, in depth reporting to all of us. I try never to miss her show because I ALWAYS learn so much. So hope other Americans across the nation are watching her too as the Republicans are NOT to be trusted.

Vote them out when you can fellow citizens on all levels of government.

I usually don't watch Rachel Maddow in order to stay calmer here in Texas. Texas is right behind North Dakota, Alabama and Kansas. Even my Republican friends who have had abortions support Bush and Perry. How do you always vote against your daughters and your best interests? My girls are my main concern when I vote.

    PS I love Austin!

Thanks for including this. It's been kind of hectic these past few weeks and I haven't gotten around to watching my recorded shows.

I'm from NC and this makes me sick to my stomach , However the media attention has taken them aback, This morning they announced that the Media got this all wrong, All they were looking to do was for Rowan Co to be able to open their public meetings with a prayer, They've said they are going to do it anyway

The North lost the Civil War. It's that simple. The shit hole that is the South should have a wall around it keeping its creeps out of the rest of the country.
