Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

This, we need more politicians like this!
Once again something that should not have to be celebrated, and yet we find it to be a breath of fresh air in an otherwise religiously poisonous atmosphere.
Speaking of Bible Thumpers, accidentally found myself at Twitchy (don't go there!) and ran across this bit of hypocrisy:
Geraldo tweet: "Regrets to my Muslim brothers/sisters. We know how Boston will aggravate life's friction-Now's the time for patience pride & understanding"
Obviously I can't print the ensuing attacks on Geraldo and Muslims, (and yes, even Puerto Ricans) but someone lumped Jews into the hatefest and suddenly all hell broke loose. One shocked poster:
"Man, I was OK until I saw this attack on Jews. It really bothers me when someone has to attack all Jewish people for all the evils of the world. When I see something like this, I know the person who wrote it has not read the Bible."
It was ok with the religious crowd as long as you disparaged Muslims. Unreal. I can only hope most of these idiots are really old geezers.
He's great! Saw him at Equality Forum and he's pro marriage equality, pro lgbt issues and pro women's rights. Check out his site, especially the videos. We need more like him!
We need more like him in the U.S. Congress!!!! Many, many more!
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of having all sorts of groans thrown my way, I say:
ReplyDeleteAMEN, BROTHER!
It's okay, Leland, I didn't groan. I agree.
DeleteHallelujah and Amen!!!

Hopefully he will continue to resist the inevitable corruption that comes with politics and politicians in the US.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's time to stop the swearing on the bible, and actually swear on the Constitution?
ReplyDeleteMy evil side wants to see some official, somewhere, bring in a statue of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and swear on that.
