President Obama visits devastated Oklahoma. Update.

Courtesy of USA Today:

During a first-hand look Sunday afternoon at the devastation from last week's violent tornado, President Obama praised Oklahomans for their resolve while consoling victims and promising continued help.

"I'm just a messenger here today, letting everybody here know that you are not alone, that you've got folks behind you," Obama said. "Obviously, the damage here is pretty hard to comprehend. Our hearts go out to the families who have been impacted, including those who had loved ones who were lost."

Obama, who flew from Washington to nearby Tinker Air Force Base, spent several hours in the area. He walked through one of the hardest-hit neighborhoods in the Oklahoma City suburb and toured the ruins of Plaza Towers Elementary School, which was destroyed by the tornado. He later visited a local fire station that has been used as a command post. There he thanked first responders and met with families of seven children who died at the school.

I swear not since Bill Clinton has a president been this effective at comforting hurting Americans.

Even if he were NOT doing all that he has done for the country in the last four and half years he would probably still be remembered for this alone. I personally have great respect for those that can demonstrate compassion for their fellow man, and President Obama is EXACTLY the guy that I would want to show up and offer support if I were dealing with devastation the likes of this Oklahoma Tornado, or Hurricane Sandy, or any other disaster one might imagine.

Update: Wiping away a tear.

I doubt that the people of Oklahoma
    Wanted Barry Obama to visit.
Just trying to turn another tragedy to his advantage

Did you look at the pictures? They seem very thankful to see him. Inhofe and Coburn on the other hand might not get such a nice reception.

You mean like noun verb 9-11? Or Bush using wars to scare people into voting for him?
No,President Obama cares about all Americans. Even you.

    3. Fuck off, dirtbag. The President is a patriot unlike you and cares about Americans unlike you.

And you'd criticize him if he didn't visit. Stupid bigots like you are so predictable.

He should be addressed as your President of the United States Barack Obama.
He hasn't been "Barry" since he was in school. Just the way many people have nicknames until they become adults. You may think it's clever to diminish him by using his old nickname, but you only embarrass yourself by doing so.

Unless you live in Moore, Oklahoma, I doubt you can speak for whether they wished to have their President visit them in their time of need, to focus national attention on their tragedy and give them moral sustenance in a terrible situation.

He doesn't need to turn a tragedy to his advantage. The majority of Americans already support him. Please refer to the latest polls, as well as the election results for 2012. You're in the minority.

In the meantime, please let us know what you are doing to help these Oklahomans, in addition to your sitting on your backside and sniping at your President.

Oh Sarah, just because a few more of your PAC $$$ will be shuttled off for yet another climate related disaster doesn't mean you need to get all prickly at the POTUS. Hey, maybe you can bake'em some of your special disaster relief cookies? Those were such a comfort (in lieu of any real state aid) to the Yupik who were starving because of an early freeze. Yeah, unlike the Pres here, you looked ignorant and callous in your photo op.

As an Oklahoman, I invite you to go fuck yourself.

I would very much like to meet you in person and see if you have the balls to spit your hatred out to my face.

Oklahoma very much appreciated the President coming. We also appreciate all the donations that have come in from the rest of the country.

People like you have no place in this country other than trolling the internet. Please either stop or leave.

Why do you even bother reading this blog? I NEVER go to any of the Palin's numerous attempts at getting publicity. I do not care what they do, say since it is always the same old CRAP. Go back to their blogs, facebooks or whatever. Stay away from this one, especially when you disrespect the BEST President this country has had since Clinton.

President Obama is an outstanding Commander in Chief - in EVERY job he is handling for America (in spite of what Republicans have constantly tried to do to him!)

    Love him as no other!

    President Obama in Moore, OK

President Obama “Moore is going to come back stronger”

MOORE — President Barack Obama met with family members of those lost in the Moore tornado as he stopped in Oklahoma for about three hours Sunday to survey storm damage.

The president met at Moore Fire Station No. 1 with relatives of those killed at Plaza Towers Elementary School.

Not long before that meeting, the president toured the wreckage of Plaza Towers, where he was greeted by Principal Amy Simpson. He hugged Simpson and spoke with her for several minutes. He also met with Moore School District Superintendent Susan Pierce and Briarwood Elementary School Principal Shelley McMillin.

“They were on the ground when this happened,” Obama said of Simpson and McMillin. “Because of their quick response, their keeping a level head, their putting kids first, saved a lot of people.”

I've always felt that he is one of the most genuine people in political office I've ever witnessed when he comforts those in pain.

He's not just offering the gesture expected of all Presidents...he truly feels deep compassion for the people who are hurting.

'And when we say that we’ve got your back, I promise you, we keep our word. If you talk to folks in Alabama who have been affected over the last couple of years; you talk to the folks at Joplin, who I know have actually sent volunteers down here to Moore; if you talk to folks in New Jersey and New York, they’ll tell you that when we say we’re going to be there until you completely rebuild, we mean it. And I want everybody to have that confidence.'

    1. So, let's recap. Sarah Palin is posing for photographs at the Indianapolis 500. Her elderly aunts flew had to fly to Alaska to care for her elderly parents, recovering from hip replacement and heart surgery (with complications).

Meanwhile President Obama is in Oklahoma, comforting, serving and governing.

But it's Sarah Palin who, in the view of Brianus at C4P, is "REAL [with a] quality [that] appeals across the entire political spectrum. . . . A LEADER . . . a fearless, devoted, patriotic PERSON, not a list of issues."

And that racist bigot, MaMcGriz, cloaked in pseudo Christianity, has this to say at C4P about the Air Force regulations prohibiting the proselytizing of ANY religion:

      Subjectivity and "discomfort" be damned.
We are the majority and WE are uncomfortable.
I want barack obama out of my life. Period. Out of my government, out of my faith, out of my military and IN lockup.

      AMEN x1,000, Ma!!!!

      Ya got that right, Ma.
The fricker can't even produce an AUTHENTIC birth certificate, rails against this country getting in the face of other countries, all the while GETTING IN OUR FACES with his Commie Transformation.
ALL LIBERALS are INSANE HYPOCRITES and EVIL to the CORE.

Note how "Ma" refers to the President as a dog . . .

Jesus would weep at "Ma's" delusion and at the hell that she and the others who worship Sarah Palin want to establish here on earth.

If ever I could exchange hugs with President Obama, I would break down in tears of sheer relief and gratitude. His loved ones obviously benefit from his ability to comfort as do those Americans who are suffering from unbelievable catastrophes. He must have been loved a lot when he was growing up as compassion like he exhibits is learned early in life.

Every day, every single day, I am grateful that President Obama is in the White House as well as in places like Moore, Oklahoma, when he's needed.

If you want to make yourself shudder, imagine Mitt Romney in Moore ("Can't you people just move into your vacation house while you rebuild?")... Brrrrrr!

I truly love our President, his beautiful wife & kids. President Obama, the First Lady are the real deal & no one can take that away from them. They are honest & caring people. That is why the GOP, Right Wing Nut Jobs and the media are doing everything in their power to try to destroy them, but it won't work. President Obama will go down in history as the best President ever. I wish he could have a third term.

President Obama has demonstrated much patience, grace, intelligence, compassion and genuine concern for his fellow man. He always finds the right words, then backs them up with action. And he makes it look so easy. I don't think I've seen any president with these qualities.Bill Clinton came close, but his overuse of the term "I feel your pain" rang hollow to me at times.
