My favorite show has been preempted tonight. Perhaps this will serve to tide us over.

That doth barely serve to slake my thirst for the clashing of steel and intrigue of the Lannisters, but will do for now.

Thou would doest well not to forget...

I want to know when the next book in the series will be released! Winds of Winter, and then, the final, Song of Spring.

HBO has done a pretty good job of condensing and bringing to the screen Game of Thrones, if you don't get too nitpicky.

Very disappointed to not get another peek of Dario Narharous tonight!

Winds of Winter Release Date: Next Game Of Thrones Book Due In 2014... Probably

Winds of Winter release date news time. By news I mean "mostly speculation," but to ease up your delirum thronems, I've taken the liberty of gathering up everything we know about when the next book will come out. George R. R. Martin is not a machine. But it is nevertheless possible to put the Winds of Winter release date in 2014 with some certainty and only a good bit of optimism.

OT: I hear Cousin It from Wasilla is at the Miami Heats vs. Indiana Pacers game & Miami is spanking Indiana's ass. (Palin Curse?)

Also, tweet from @NotBillWilton: "Sarah Palin is at the game. Last time she went to a Heat game she ended up giving fellatio to Glenn Rice in the locker room. #ItsTrue" LOL!!!

Don't say that, my Pacers have enough to contend with with LeBron. The Palin curse - that's just too much.

That's so immature. You libtards really need to get with the fact that the Palins will always outclass you.

Out of the Mouth of Babes: 9 Year Old Saves His School

...So I admit no little thrill listening to Asean Johnson, who revved up the crowds in Chicago protesting the closing of 50 schools. Johnson, who attends Marcus Garvey School, which was slated for closing, actually was able to get officials to change their mind.

When Garvey was slated for closing, school officials asked Asean if he would be willing to speak. With the help of his teacher, he came up with a short speech. He said he told the teacher what he wanted to say and she typed it for him, giving him a little help with the grammar and structure. "The words were all his," said the teacher, Lori Harris.[..]

Over the course of several months, he spoke at a half-dozen rallies and public meetings.

He quickly caught the attention of many on both sides of the debate. At a meeting in April, Chicago Public Schools CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett smiled broadly and wiped away a tear as Asean made his passionate plea. Later, she said Asean was "an articulate, learned young man, and that is exactly what we want for all of our students."[..]

For some events, Asean prepared speeches, which he would try to memorize and deliver without looking at his notes. But it was an event Monday, when he spoke off the cuff, that was videotaped, uploaded to the Internet and soon made him a sensation.

In the video, Asean climbs on a metal folding chair so he can see over the lectern. After greeting the crowd and introducing himself, his tone turns serious as he accuses Mayor Rahm Emanuel of "not caring about our schools." He is poised. His voice rises in anger as he says, "You should be supporting these schools, not closing them."

Noting that the action will affect mostly African-American children, he calls the closings racist. But he quickly strikes a chord of inclusion, saying: "We are black, and we are proud! We are white and we are proud! No matter what the color is, no matter if you're Asian or Chinese, it doesn't matter. You should not be closing these schools!" The crowd roars in approval. The boy pumps his fist in the air and leads a chant: "Education is a right; that is why we have to fight!"

How can you not love this little boy? It's not often that you see the birth of a natural leader, but there's no question in my mind that's exactly what we have in Asean Johnson.

Gryphen! Did you see this outcome?

US couple – Herbert and Catherine Schaible – were under investigation for failing to seek medication attention when their seven-month-old son Brandon fell ill and later died, it has been confirmed that the parents, who believe only prayer can heal, have been charged with third-degree murder and other offenses.

This was the second time the couple lost a child to illness. They were sentenced to 10 years probation after the 2009 death of their 2-year-old son Kent. Kent died after contracting pneumonia, an illness prosecutors said could have been prevented with basic medical care.

With Brandon’s death, prosecutors allege the couple violated their probation by not taking the baby to the doctor.

The Schaibles, according to this report, are members of the First Century Gospel Church in Philadelphia. Founded in 1925, it is an offshoot the Faith Tabernacle Congregation.

Families who attend Faith Tabernacle Congregation in North Philadelphia and First Century Gospel Church in Juniata Park have lost more than two dozen children to illness since 1971, according to non-profit Children’s Healthcare Is a Legal Duty, Inc. (CHILD, Inc.). Both churches believe in the power of prayer over modern medicine.

If you haven't already, you MUST check out this site. Along with several other time wasters, it also has Games of Thrones as if everything were happening on Facebook:

If anything, it's even better than the episodes. Be sure to read the fine prints, i.e. likes, etc.

Sarah Palin sits courtside at Pacers/Heat game three, gets booed

"One of the star-studded celebrities that attended game three of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Pacers/Heat was former GOP Vice Presidential candidate/governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. Palin attended the game with her husband Todd and apparently, she was shown on the Conseco Fieldhouse videoboard during a stoppage of play in the fourth quarter. How do Indiana fans react to Saint Sarah? Well, let the fine folks over at the Daily Thunder tell you: Sarah Palin showed on the big screen and booed LOUDLY. — Royce Young (@dailythunder) May 27, 2013 Oh well, at least she can see Russia from her house…."

This skit was funny...and appropriate considering the Tonight Show history. For those of you that havent read the series....the next episode is a doosey with the final week tying up loose ends. There is a great website with a few videos explaining the history of some of the families.
comicbookgirl9.com is well worth the effort...she also reviews movies.

Serious withdraw tonight. I guess I should have checked the listings. Ended up watching Magic Mike to get my fix of bare ass. I wonder if HBO did that intentionally. Too funny.

And really the point is that McDonalds doesn't sell junk food. They sell food that gives shit a bad name. Pink slime until that got publicity.

Excellent...Game of Thrones is one of my faves, Jimmy does it proud. I hope some of the other commenters are right...there are a lot of loose ends so far this season. When the fuck is Dani ever gonna cross that sea with her dragons already?

Anon at 10:28PM, you missed an excellent film if you switched channels. Behind the Candelabra was truly wonderful. I met Liberace when I was about 9, he was at Disneyland coming out of his dressing room. I had never seen anyone like him, I was about the same age as the Matt Damon character in the film.
As a young girl, he just blew me away and was so gracious and kind. He made us feel like we were the most important people in the park just by waving and shaking our hands. I can close my eyes and still see him to t his day, gorgeous in the sequin, blazingly white outfit he wore for the performance. I asked for piano lessons that afternoon!
If you get a chance do watch it, if not for Michael Douglas' superb performance then for the sumptuous costumes and sets. You won't be disappointed.
GoT starts up again on my 55th birthday, what a treat!!!
