Hot mic catches NSA Director telling FBI Deputy Director "Tell your boss I owe him another friggin' beer." You're NOT helping.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

The director of the National Security Agency was overheard offering a round of beer to the FBI's second-in-command following Tuesday's congressional hearing on the NSA's controversial surveillance programs.

The three-hour hearing had just wrapped up around 1 p.m. when NSA Director Keith Alexander turned to FBI Deputy Director Sean Joyce and praised him for his testimony.

'Thank you, Sean,' Alexander said, according to a clip of the exchange that was first reported by Ben Doernberg.

'Tell your boss I owe him another friggin' beer,' he added.

'Yeah?' Joyce responded.

 'Yeah,' said Alexander.

'Tell him to give it to me,' Joyce said.

Joyce repeatedly praised the programs as 'essential' tools for fighting terrorism in his remarks to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

He also described four specific cases where the FBI used data obtained by the NSA programs to thwart terror attacks, including a bomb plot against the New York Stock Exchange and another against the city's subway system.

Now I don't necessary think that this means the FBI was lying to protect the NSA program, but I will say that this kind of thing is going to provide unending fodder for those who have suspicions about these programs. And yes I am still one of them.

Oh come on! Seriously?? It was a tough hearing. I would want a beer too. If he was lying, he would want more than a frigging beer!!

    1. you -say- that, but what you really mean is "I'd better get on top of my network access management before the NSA knows i was reading about their beers"

You know darn well that every country with the capability is doing the same thing. We just upped the ante because we tend to get the lunatics who think bombing the US is a great idea . Not to mention our homegrown militias who want to fight the entire government with their precious assault rifles. I stay off Facebook because things are tracked. I don't make phone calls to Yemen. If we want this stopped, we have to convince Congress to stop it. Good luck with that.

  6. Let's just blame President Obama for everything the US has done since FDR was President - because THAT is what these hearings are all about. The congress GOP will do ANYTHING to find SOMETHING to let them have another discussion on bringing down a democratic President. It is their favorite topic - next to, of course, the "lady parts" of women's bodies.

Spies have been running around gathering information since forever. Today it can be done while sitting in the armchair - but let's blame the black man - he can't possibly be trusted with the information. GWB was given free reign with the data - see how that turned out.

      "let's blame the black man"

Well, as our tee party friends like to say "it's all right there in the damn bible, ya zip dang fool!"

And so it is written in Fellatians 6:9

"Let he who is most pious cast the first stone. Never pay the asking price for a camel, yak or goat. Fearest thou the man of black who resideseth in the house of white."

      Words to live by...

4:35 Wow! I've never heard or read that about Fell 6:9 (is that how you write it???)

What does the verse mean in context?

Hmmmm. First you have Fox making a correction at all, plus making a correction in regards to something to do with the White House and Obama. That in itself is big.

I wonder what gives? Why would they even air the piece if it had so many mistakes in it?

Did they do that just so they could point out her mistakes?

And it is even better that they never used to correct her.

So I ask again...what gives? What exactly are we seeing in the current dynamic?
