DeleteI heard that Zimmerman is suing NBC for their misleading editing of a tape that made Zimmerman look like a racist.
ReplyDeleteI agree NBC was totally WRONG. unethical. immoral. dastardly. I would like NBC to pay as a deterrent to other INFOENTERTAINMENT producers. I believe those involved have been fired. That's a good start.
The part I have trouble with is - where is the damage to Zimmerman. In order to prevail in a tort case, you don't have to just prove the act, you have to prove that it harmed you. How did it harm him? Does anyone think less of him because of the tape? Has it cost him a job? cost him money?
You don't need to edit a tape to make him look like a racist, just look at his MySpace page:

ReplyDeleteMuch of the reason police do not want a vigilante approach is the person is not physically qualified one on one and therefore uses weapons, while this was a teenager he was very tall thus a threat , had he been a five footer, as am I, doubtful I would have paid the price, Florida mano / mano view needs serious corrections, recall the Ohio State University player a few years back who was seriously injured by a sucker punch in a restaurant that had a concrete floor. This attitude in Fl involves long term vs newer citizens being viewed as 2nd class citizens, while race is involved in perhaps this action it is also involves the way the "true Floridians" look at us others.

My hope is that Zimmerman's life is so fearful, full of suspicion that someone is "out to get him" that he eventually wishes he HAD been put in prison. We will soon read that his wife left since the marriage was already in trouble. He will become a paranoid recluse. He might think he got away with this, but it will never, ever leave him in a peaceful place.
