The Wendy Davis story.

This is an incredible video that they made over at HuffPo, and it REALLY shows just how heroic State Senator Wendy Davis was, and I found it very inspiring. And the brutality that the protesters endured in the attempt to have their voices heard.

This is the kind of leadership that we need in the Democratic party, and this is the kind of dedication that it takes to hold the Republicans at bay.

There is of course every chance that this law will still pass, but Wendy Davis has opened the eyes of the women of Texas and re-energized those who perhaps felt they could not stand against the Republican juggernaut in that state.

Winning a battle does not win a war, but if women want to maintain control over their own reproductive organs they need to start turning out to fight every bill that would turn them back into breeders and strip them of their right to control their own destinies.

Wendy was a single mom living in a trailer. She foolishly spent money she earned to go to college.

Why was she so stupid? She could have bought a $68,000 pontoon boat and lived a vibrant life.

The misogynist, bigoted, theocratic, paid-for legislators of Texas have awakened a sleeping monster. They, and others like them, will live to regret it.

Women around the country, however, will be eternally grateful. And so will the men who love and respect them.

Please everyone-read the Handmaids's Tale by Margaret Atwood. What she predicted in this novel is coming true for women if we do not support courageous women like Wendy Davis.Connect the dots and see the pattern emerging: voter suppression, suppression of women, proliferation of privately owned weapons and suppression of minorities. The so called Christians do not care a fig for these children after they are born-witness the food stamp cuts and lack of medical care for children. The attitude of women by these legislators is no different than how the Taliban views theirs. They are not Christian- Christ would disown them.

Wendy Davis is an intelligent and classy woman. It's about time we get rid of the "good ol' boys" here in the State of Texas. For the last decade, things have really gotten worse for most of us, inspite of what Gov. Goodhair is spouting. I hope Texas women unite and put an end to his regime. We need women like Wendy and Leticia leading this state...can't wait until Texas is blue again.

Gov.Perry is quoted as saying that it's a good thing that Wendy's mother didn't abort her. http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/07/07/2261781/rick-perry-doubles-down-wendy-davis-should-be-proud-that-her-mother-didnt-abort-her/ What a stupid thing to say!

At the time that Wendy was conceived and born, Wendy's mother was married. Why in the world would she think of aborting her baby? Wendy's mother was divorced when Wendy was 11. That's when Perry is referring to Wendy (and her siblings) as the children of a single mother. No! It's not as if Wendy's mother was never married and had children with no father in the picture-- like some famous teen aged mothers we know. It's a false argument meant to still up the emotions of low information people.

It reminds me of another person who made the same sort of claim. Sarah Palin claims that people told her that she should have aborted Trig. No one could have told that to Palin because Palin didn't announce that she was expecting a baby until it was the 7th month of her "pregnancy." The word "expecting" is appropriate here because Palin was expecting to claim a DS baby as her own in order to solidify her VP nomination, but she couldn't have been pregnant. Photos of Palin taken at that time show a slim woman with no protruding abdomen. Nobody ever said, "You should have aborted Trig." It's a straw man argument, a false argument, like Perry's statement, meant to stir up the low information crowd.

And, Wendy was also married when she had her daughter.

I like Wendy Davis and think she should run against Perry (who is an idiot and jerk!). What a woman! I agree, we women across the nation should follow her example and go after the Republican men that are taking this type stand.!

Rick has no right to use her personal story and warp it to fit his agenda, but that's the difference between educated Wendy and ignoramus Perry. Having Cecile Richards announce the Lieutenant Governor's decision had to leave a mark!
