Has Texas become a police state? If anyone doubts there is a War On Women in Texas, this is proof positive. It is evident from the videos that the police officers think this is standard procedure as they acknowledge they are on video. They do not believe they are doing anything wrong. They have been conditioned to believe that a woman’s person is subject to whatever laws or actions they deem reasonable to them at any given time and for any reason.
In a state where a Congressperson believes a rape kit can be used to clean out a woman after a rape when passing a draconian anti-women, anti-abortion, anti-contraception, anti-family planning bill, this should be expected.
In the above video near Dallas, the two young women are cavity searched while not under arrest and there was no change of latex gloves between women. One of the women defeated and humiliated by the search said the following.
"This has been an eye-opening experience for me OK. Never been pulled over. Never searched like this. I was like totally violated over there a few minutes ago. I had a finger in my ass and a finger in my pussy. I am, this is so embarrassing to me."
The officer implied that this was done because of the smell of marijuana? Then he tells her to be on her way.
Apparently after one of the women got a lawyer and went to the media the female officer was charged with two counts of sexual assault and fired while the male was charged with stealing prescription medicate out of the purse of one of the female "gropee's."
You know after watching this (And cringing while doing so.) I have to believe that this is NOT an isolated incident. It appeared to me that this was something that the female officer did quite often and seemed quite comfortable with performing.
At remember, these women were not charged with anything nor were they read their rights. One of which would have been to be molested on the side of a public street.
Keep it up Texas and you will no longer be the Lone Star state, but after the women get tired of being treated like hookers and breeding stock you might well be the "Lone Woman" state.

I'd move if I could, but I'm very ill, fighting for my life daily and can't afford to leave anyway and my husband won't leave either. So thanks for the compliment, we are not all fucking morons here. I despise the governor and the state legislature,, the senators and most of the reps, but sadly some of us are stuck. Some people are stuck and literally can't leave for many reasons out of our control. Every state has idiots, yes we do have our share, but again I find it unfair to brush everyone with the same brush. The big cities generally vote blue,but the small towns and suburbs are unfortunately red. Maybe some day that will change.

This is unbelievable, grotesque, and those officers deserve everything coming to them. I had to undergo an exam for medical reasons that included gloves and both holes, but at least I had a nurse who understood how fucking traumatizing something like that is (especially for those of us who have been attacked in the past) and held my hand through the whole thing.

And it would be a pretty good idea for their attorney to put out the word to contact all the other women who have been groped like this. If these incidents don't point out the need for an ERA, I don't know what does/would. Unfortunately, the courts still do not view women as equals before the law in every circumstance; this is true even in cases where statutes have been enacted. (just think how long it took for women to obtain the right to vote.) What's worse, I can't imagine that Texas has any sex-based legislation on the books prohibiting this, and can't imagine that the feds do, either. Suit would have to be based on assault, deprivation of human rights, abuse of authority, etc. – but, as women per se, there is no sex-based protection from this and other outrageously sexist legislative decisions we are witnessing all across the country. All of which point to the need for a Constitutional Amendment protecting women as equals in all situations.

I have read about another case like this, ALSO in Texas, about a year ago. In both instances, the women first got groped in their a$$, and then WITH THE SAME GLOVE, in their vagina, and in both cases no gloves were changed between either body location OR woman. Fecal matter in your vagina can cause some NASTY infections, and fecal matter as well as vagina fluids from one woman into another woman... YUCK!!!

My bet, they and others perform these assaults often, and with the knowledge of the department's leadership. That officer should be up on charges, and punished. Losing her job isn't all she should have to face.
I hope these women went to the doctors after this assault. Contaminated gloves - OMG!
There's another news article on Huff Post or Yahoo about a town in Texas that confiscates stuff at random. They pull you over, claim to smell marijuana, search your car and then take anything of value; cash, cameras, jewelry, etc. Then they tell you if you sign over your stuff you won't be charged and are free to go. If you have kids, they'll threaten to take your kids away and put them in foster homes if you don't sign.

If you're driving across country, I'd suggest bypassing Texas but I suspect Oklahoma and other red neck states do the same thing.

ReplyDeleteI seem to recall at least one other incident, also publicized on the Net, also involving two women. In both cases, I believe they were women from out of state, driving through Texas on their way to a different state. Seems there might be a pattern.
I hope, all these groping/penetration victims get together and file a HUGE CLASSACTION lawsuit.
