There are SOME events that Sarah Palin simply should not weigh in on. The 50th anniversary of MLK's speech is one of them. Update!

The above graphic was found over at "So Sambo beat the Bitch's" Facebook page.

As most of you know today is a huge event celebrating the historic "I have a dream" speech given by Martin Luther King Jr. on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial back in 1963.

Today it will be commemorated by the very FIRST African American President in this country's history.

The same African American President that Sarah Palin has ridiculed, insulted, and undermined, since the day he took office.

Sarah Palin was one of the first to try and link our President to Bill Ayres and suggest that he was "Palling around with terrorists." One of the FIRST to suggest that his association with Reverend Jeremiah Wright made him a racist who hated white people. One of the first to suggest that he was too inexperienced to lead this country. And one of the first to imply that he was actually working against American interests, not for them.

And she based these attacks NOT on any of the President's actual policies (She started her attacks before he ever even took office), she based them on the fact that she perceived him as unfit for the job due to something else.

And what was that "something else?" The color of his skin.

And her attacks, and those of other Right Wing nutjobs, fanned the flames of racism into such a white heat of outrage that this President has received more death threats than any other President in American history. And don't forget that four of THEM were assassinated.

No today Sarah Palin should simply, if you will excuse my language, shut the fuck up!

She has NO right to say anything on this historic occasion. In fact her very existence demonstrates how far we still have yet to go before achieving the dream that Martin Luther King Jr, so eloquently  described fifty years ago today.

I will give Palin the tiniest bit of credit for showing enough restraint NOT to paste the Sarah PAC logo on the graphic up above. But that is the ONLY credit I am willing to afford her today.

And like I said, for the rest of the day she needs to shut the fuck up!

Update: Holy shit! I totally missed the SarahPAC logo.

She actually DID put it on there in order to use Martin Luther King Jr. to drum up more donations.

What a bitch!

    2. She deserves NO credit anywhere, anytime, for anything. She has the most hateful rhetoric of anyone I have ever heard in my lifetime - & I have heard alot in the past 60 years.

NO republicans took part in the events today - NONE - shows how much they care about MLK and his words and his legacy.

    3. Any credit Sarah ever deserved for being a decent person has been depleted in the past five years in which she's done nothing but bitch, moan and groan. And lie and complain. And grift. And steal from the treasury of her home state and the US with her tax evasion strategies... I could go on for days, but instead I will wait for her perp walk to remind her few remaining supporters that I tried many times to warn them to save their pennies, but they wouldn't listen.

"Sorry, Palinbots, but I told you so."

I seen Sarah Palin's facebook post and laughed. Some flunkie posted that picture on her page and right below it was only about five words supposedly from Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin has said more about sodas and cookies than she did about. MLK Jr.

    Totally not genuine.

Five words for MLK Jr from Sarah Palin? Why that's good. Sarah is a busy woman. Sarah is raising needy children in her hanger, chasing boys from the upstairs bedrooms, hunting, houseboating, going to the Kentucky Derby, Indy 500 and NBA games, trying out different size breasts..... I'm just tired thinking about all she does for SarahPac and for America.

However, she is a user who recently is trying to attach herself to the reputations of Martin Luther King, Jr., Noam Chomsky and Ashton Kutcher. I sense a desperation on her part to broaden the base from which she grifts, since it's obvious her SarahPAC resources are dwindling.

Chris Matthews burst out of the gate on Wednesday with a staggering display of anger after he was asked to frame the events which will mark the 50th anniversary of Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Matthews railed against Republicans who refuse to acknowledge what he sees so clearly – the subtle racism which is ceaselessly aimed at President Barack Obama in an effort to delegitimize him.

Matthews says he expects “heated rhetoric” from the speakers who will mark the half-century anniversary of King’s inspirational speech. Instead of a message of hope, Matthews predicted – or rather hoped – that anger and resentment would be the dominant themes Wednesday’s commemorations.

“This country’s divided today — heavily divided, sharply divided — between the ‘noes’ out there,” Matthews began. “The ones who reject an African-American president , have rejected him from the day he was elected and the day they heard he might be elected.”

“The other half of the country rather disillusioned,” he continued, betraying his own sentiments. “Rather disenchanted; almost pouting with disillusionment right now.”

“Frustration and rejection are going to clash today,” Matthews added, anticipating the tone of the speech he would give. That is, if he were invited to speak.

MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts asked Matthews for his thoughts on a quote from former President George W. Bush who praised King on this anniversary effusively and said that the erecting of a monument to him in the nation’s capital reflects “the promise of America.”

This noble and inoffensive sentiment moved Matthews to an expectorating rage. Though he praised Bush for issuing a “nice statement,” he returned to the theme that today’s racism directed at the president is so subtle that only a select few mediums (himself among them) can channel it.

“They never say their problem with Obama is that he is black but look at the pattern,” Matthews continued. “The pattern is rejection of his legitimacy at the first point saying he is not really here illegally.” Matthews insisted that some Republicans in Congress are insisting that Obama is a “crook” because he is here illegally and that talk of impeachment – a staple topic of discussion among opponents of second term presidents – is an expression of their racial hatred for the president.

“At least in the old days they were honest about it,” Matthews insisted. “Today, they are not. That’s how rough it’s going to be today, I think.”

Black And White Poverty: 1963 Vs. Today

Today is the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. We've made a lot of gains in improving racial equality since then.

But a chart from Pew shows that that only goes so far, showing poverty rates by race since 1963.

After four decades of gains for blacks, we are now moving backwards (that is, upwards).

Today, 28% of African-Americans are below the poverty line, compared with just 10% for whites.

And then there was Rocky Delaplaine, who was all of 10 years old when she attended the 1963 march with her mother. Even so, she remembers the details of that event vividly.

"There were buses and buses and buses kept coming, we could see buses parked, people streaming in," she said. "We could see people from labor unions, auto worker signs, government worker signs and the teacher's ed signs, and there were lots of members of churches, of synagogues, of mosques, of people who were representing the religious community."

She sat on the southern side of the Reflecting Pool that day, envious of those close enough to cool their bodies by dipping their feet in the water. Over the speaker system, she listened to Joan Baez singing "O Freedom" and 'We Shall Overcome" and Peter, Paul and Mary singing "Blowin' In The Wind." The only speech she recalls, however, was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s.

"I remember it was his very sonorous voice, very powerful voice, the fact that he repeats phrases," she said. "His voice filled me with hope. That was my feeling. I don't know how many of the words I understood but his voice filled me with hope and just being there in this sea of humanity filled me with hope."

    WOW! A Republican said this?

...Republican congressional candidate Jason Thigpen is speaking out against North Carolina's new voter identification law, characterizing the measure passed by the state's GOP-controlled legislature as a "turd."

Thigpen, who will challenge Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) in next year's primary to represent North Carolina's 3rd District, said the measure signed into law by Gov. Pat McCrory (R) earlier this month is "discriminatory."

"You can paint a turd and sell it as art, but it's still a turd," Thigpen said in an article posted to his Facebook page on Monday. "This is 2013 and any legislator that puts forth such a discriminatory bill should be laughed out of office. This is America, not Russia."

He continued, "You have those that honestly believe our country would be better off turning back the clock to years ago, also known as the 'good-old days,' which weren't all that good for everyone. After suppressing the right to vote, what's next? Are these so-called Representatives going to push for preventing our military, veterans, and women from voting?"

When asked by Roll Call about his remarks, Thigpen said he supports requiring voter identification at the polls, but only if steps are taken to make sure the requirement does not discriminate against any individuals.

"I do support requiring voters to provide a photo ID in order to vote, as long as there isn’t any undo burden or expense placed on the voter in order to do so," he said. "Otherwise, it’s considered a poll-tax.. I honestly believe that any legislation which may invariably reduce voter turnout is a bad thing and cannot imagine what argument, not discriminatory in some fashion, could be made to purport differently."

Ed Schultz Exposes Cause Of Racism In The South (VIDEO)

Last Friday MSNBC’s Ed Schultz had a town hall in Alabama. He wanted to go to the Deep South and talk directly to the people. He complained about the right wing talking heads using a narrative of dependency as well as race bating to create a level of angst within the white community. You have to wonder if he expected to have two women in the audience with relevant stories that put it all in a microcosm.

The following is the transcript of the video that follows. The two women made explosive accusations against many white churches in the South and against local Republican Parties. While many may find what they are saying hard to believe I have had many Republicans in our local Baptist churches tell me similar stories.

ED Schultz: Last Friday night I did a town hall meeting in Birmingham Alabama…This is what an Alabama public school teacher came to the microphone and said.

Martin Luther King was NOT, I repeat, NOT a Republican.

He fought Jim Crowe relicts like Bull Connor an Lester Maddox and the rest of the KKK-backed Democrats, but he was a civil disobedient, he enrolled in no party, and he disavowed any political party that did not believe in equal rights

Southern Republicans were about to give racial hatred a new majority in the South in 1968, five months before King was killed.

Eight Ways Phyllis Schlafly And The GOP Justify Voter Suppression

In a column published by WND titled “North Carolina Embraces Honest Elections” by Phyllis Schlafly, the Conservative strategy of suppressing the vote comes clearly into focus. I quote Ms. Schlafly here for two reasons: 1) You need to know what is happening behind closed doors; and 2) So you don’t have to click on the article and unintentionally support this agenda which, if you were unaware, is exactly what happens.

Republicans Hide Their Racist Disenfranchisement Efforts by Claiming MLK as Their Own

...With Republicans, everything is only skin deep. It’s all about appearances. That’s why they ran Sarah Palin to get women votes, and keep desperately trying to claim MLK, Jr. as their own, as if this would suddenly erase 60 years of racist Southern Strategy, actual policies that harm the poor, and racist efforts to steal the vote from minorities.

Darlene 'Adler' Hicks - I think Martin Luther King Jr. ,would turn over in his grave, if he saw how the young black population has become takers and killers in our society! They are the worst racists of all. Now what??

Read King's anti-war anti-imperialism, anti-military industrial complex speech he gave the Riverside Baptist Church in 1967.

"True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. A true revolution of values will soon look uneasily on the glaring contrast of poverty and wealth with righteous indignation. It will look across the seas and see individual capitalists of the West investing huge sums of money in Asia, Africa, and South America, only to take the profits out with no concern for the social betterment of the countries, and say, "This is not just." It will look at our alliance with the landed gentry of Latin America and say, "This is not just." The Western arrogance of feeling that it has everything to teach others and nothing to learn from them is not just. A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war, "This way of settling differences is not just." This business of burning human beings with napalm, of filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows, of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into the veins of peoples normally humane, of sending men home from dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice, and love. A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death."

Even if she did, I'm quite sure they would not agree w/her using his photo w/her PAC logo on it on her Facebook page to promote raising money! Her collection efforts have gone downhill substantially over the past couple of years.

Plus, we all know she is a racist!! That's all we've been hearing about since she ran (in the second position) on McCain's ticket and lost in 2008 to President Obama and VP Biden!

Sarah was taught the Facebook/Twitter like-purchasing game by Newt Gingrich, or actually "consultants" that worked in an unofficial capacity advising both of them. Why would either if them have consultants, with Sarah being a non-candidate and Newt with an org consisting of a "campaign manager" and exactly one contributor (and his wife... okay, that's two) ?

There is a direct pathway of cash that weaves its way in and out of shells, non-profit orgs into other shells and other non-profit board members which ultimately leads directly to individuals associated with Koch money at Heartland Publishing, AFP, Cato Institute, Heritage Foundation, Freedom Works, and several versions of the Tea Party scams. Michele Bachmann was supported through this same network, and some diligent tracking of funds has chipped away at the facade of legitimacy of those front orgs for purchasing shills like Palin, Bachmann, et al. I'm limited on what I can say here because specifics are more strategic in nature than tactical, and we have made serious inroads into oppo research, but if you care to put in a little time to research the spider web or orgs, go to muckety.com and use the relational maps to gain some insight on where the overlaps of power are between groups, some who have reputations as non-biased until internal documents surface, and the corrupt cronyists, some of whom are more vulnerable bc of their greed and relatively transparent aspirations for influence and some level of power they are promised but will never attain. It's more corruption than conspiracy, because the biggest beneficiaries are known entities. But indictments will never go as high as they should, because... that's not how things work.

Would MLK approve of Sarah's tactics? Hell no.

Sarah put crosshairs on Democratic Congressional Districts as a shout out to her followers to use a gun to silence those districts.

    She called for gun violence.

Dr. King called for NON-VIOLENCE, Sarah, you moron.

How dare Sarah use his image? What would Gabby Giffords say to this? And just think Facebook has not banned her yet?

I listened to the speech in it's entirety last night. I've heard often in the past but am still moved every time I hear it. It is a wonderful, iconic speech. To the racist, hateful pieces of dung posting on the fraud's hatebook page: Martin Luther King would be so proud of our current president, the only thing that would appall him would be the hate directed at him by the scum that have the same views as sarah.
Here's the deal, bitch, President Obama will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents and orators in the history of our country. He will be compared to the Reverend King regarding his impact on our country. You, on the other hand, will go down in history as simpering, smug, dog- whistling bigot. The only one you will be compared to is someone like Aimee Semple McPherson, another scamming, opportunistic piece of garbage exploiting the weak minded. I can only hope your story ends as her's did, public humiliation followed by deep depression for being found out and ultimately doing away with herself. Like you sarah, she had the gift of charisma, also like you she used it for evil rather than good...May you rot in hell.

I had never heard the entire speech and I'm a senior! Watched and listened to it twice yesterday. Absolutely loved it and the spirit of Dr. King!

And, I thought President Obama did an outstanding job too! How he handles all that is on his plate right now amazes me (Syria/Republicans) and he ALWAYS comes through. Outstanding job, President Obama!

I also listed to John Lewis' speech, who was head of SNCC at the time. They made him tone down the rhetoric of his speech before he gave it, but the transcript had already been distributed to the press at the time. You can read the text of his speech prior to editing and afterward at WaPo. The Post interviewed him at the time and then again earlier this year about it. Lewis wasn't exactly the docile, compliant type to go along and get along. He was more of a firebrand, but was a good complement to Dr King's style of non-violence.

I have a lot of admiration for both men, and we are fortunate to still have John Lewis with us still. I had to chuckle (in a good way) when Jamie Foxx challenged his contemporaries to be the new civil rights leaders to carry the banner for this generation. I had just made the comment to someone that I thought a caricature of John Lewis has been used for Foxx for the adaptation of Django, which was a hoot, in my opinion. Not because of all the violence and killings of white people (white-ploitation?) --- I'm a white male, by the way, but because of all the little pokes it takes at the stereotypes of all the spaghetti westerns that I used to love to watch, and still do, although it is with a jaded eye sometimes. It was an awesome film. Lewis isn't really anything like the character in reality, just in temperament where there's injustice. He was arrested over 40 times while protesting and marching for civil rights, voting rights, equal rights in the 60's, and beaten by the police more than once, most notably in Selma, AL on Bloody Sunday in 1965 while leading over 600 marchers. This was one of the pivotal moments that led to LBJ signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which the Republicans are dead-set on dismantling today. We can't let them do this or it will have a generational effect similar to Citizens United, which will be harder to undo than it as to push through the a Conservative Judiciary bloc if Koch abrothers ringers on the Supreme Court.

Since me Mini Bristol is trying to stay relevant and keep her name on the internet like mommy does by bad mouthing our president, did Mini Bristol post anything to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr or is she still staying out late bar hopping as reported on the internet?

"On August 29, 1988, she eloped at age 24 with her high school sweetheart, Todd Palin. Following the birth of their first child, in Apri 20, 1989.... wait a second....

So Sarah Heath ran off into the night like a thief without family present and was married end of Aug in front of witnesses who were strangers....

Then Track was born April 20, 1989...

So that means Sarah Palin eloped 4 weeks after conception?

Four weeks after she missed her period?

    Sarah is a Heath alright.

Did they tell the family Track was a premie or something?

But then why would she run off and have to get married in front of total strangers?

Sarah doesn't practice conservative family values. She and track created a child each before marriage, Bristol is still a never married mom. Teabaggers preach "conservative family values" but do not live them.

It's out there, 3:12. Look on flicker. They are sitting on the couch together, and yes, it's obvious she's preggo, so four weeks is likely an under-estimate. I had a set of linens in college with a pattern similar to her top in that picture, if its the same one I've seen several times on the net. Krusty probably has it catalogued if you ask. Haha. I could show you a picture of my sheets and pillowcase from college, but my bed wasn't made so my Mom wouldn't be happy about that. Sorry.

I counted between 5 and 6 weeks after she missed her period, but 1st pregnancy due dates might be off a few days as my back of the envelope math could be off a little.

But two facts are clearly true about her "elopement:
1, She was obviously at least a month pregnant and her appearance was even further along; and
      2. Sarah lied about the reason for their "elopement" in her book and in her fictional personal chronology of perpetual lies in a futile attempt at myth-making.

Arguably the Palin/Heath woman are an embodiment of Red State values. You get knocked up young and married young; no abortion allowed. Hubby goes off to a blue-color job, wifey makes another baby or three, they all go to church, they all live within a 2-mile radius of where they were born, the family unit might be totally dysfunctional but stays intact, everybody gets to feel righteous, nobody gets educated and uppity, nobody's horizons ever broaden, nobody questions the faith, nobody gets rich but most everyone can make enough to raise the kids until they are old enough (16 will do) to repeat the cycle. It was a sustainable model: the Heath/Palin women are multigenerational poster children for this way of life.
And what's gone wrong, in a word, is globalization: an uneducated blue-color wage-earner can't support a family any more...divorce starts to be a possibility...kids might still reproduce young but it's a downward spiral of mobility. This is why the Red State types are mad as heck: they're doing what they've always done, the world isn't holding up it's side of the deal. And, sure, we can see through Grifter Granny in a heartbeat, but none of them ever stepped 2 inches outside their cozy flatlander universe; they eat demagoguery with a spoon, for breakfast.

True to her form, Sarah had her Internet Advisory Team (RAM & Family members) supplementing the racist comments to appeal to her base, which consists of only one African-American, a young lady who will be truly disappointed one day with her naïveté in supporting Sarah Palin. She is George Wallace with big fake titties, ill-fitting, tacky clothing, and big-ass circus clown shoes. Otherwise, she is just like Wallace was, character-wise. Lacking.

Poor grammar, but I'm too damn tired to edit this. Sarah's a racist, bigoted bitch, and that's the bottom line and the take-away here.
