First day of school!
Interesting, we always wondered if Trig would go to school, Now it looks like he is.
It might be worth noting however that kindergarten in Wasilla started on the 22nd.
As for his birth certificate, I am sure he has one. After all he WAS born.
But we will never know what it says, or about any discrepancies concerning birth parents or dates, because the school would NEVER let that information get out.
No the only way we will ever have proof is if somebody makes a copy of the original birth certificate, and that would almost HAVE to be a family member, or an official who did not want to keep their job anymore.
I also think it is worth noting that while Palin spends the majority of her time in Arizona, it is left up to Todd to parent her political prop. Gee, I wonder if he knew what he was getting into when she first broached the idea of pulling off her little scam?
I bet he didn't.
One thing in this sorry mess you can't deny: Todd seems to love his son, and vice versa. Good to know he is loved, by someone.

DeleteI’m torn; the little guy seems really happy around Todd, and yet, I believe the stories of Shailey Tripp. I think both scenarios are possible and likely; a pimp can be good with kids. I guess Trig will get by and progress thanks to teachers and peers, or he will be returned to the home. I know nothing of laws there.

DeleteYou may have a point and I'm sure there's a lot going on in the Palin house we know nothing about, but photos can, in fact be a pretty good clue when it comes to children.
Think about some of the pictures of Trig taken with his 'mother'. He always seems to be uncomfortable, unhappy and trying to pull away. With Todd, he always seems to be relaxed and happy.
Think also about the many photos we've seen of the President with children and compare those to the pictures of babies crying near Romney. Young children instinctively know when they're loved, and don't hesitate to make their discomfort known when exposed to people who don't like them.
Can't wait to put him down, posture tells me.
DeleteI don't buy into either poser parent as showing love in the photos they use in their propaganda. Trig does seem to be more comfortable with Todd, it seems more of a bond. Todd may be one those men that has a good rapport with children. It doesn't mean it isn't mainly like an actor that learns to bond with a child actor for a part.
DeleteIf Todd loves Trig he would put Trig's needs before other things. Todd would stand up for him to have therapy, glasses and hearing aides and all that is important. He may well love him like a cute kid you love when you have a part to play with him, but you don't have anything to do with getting him in the therapy he needs.

To clarify, yes, I agree with anon533: to my eye also, the photos have long said that Todd accepts Trig as his son, and loves him. And that's about the last nice thing you'll hear me say about Todd Palin. Who Trig's biological father is, I get less rather than more sure. I don't see a strong resemblance to Levi as Trig gets older. If anything Trig looks more and more native to me. And no lectures about Down Syndrome and epicanthic folds, please: it's the overall shape of his face, etc, that to my eye suggest more native blood than any of the Palins.

Did Sarah Palin actually say on her Facebook page that Trig was going to public school? No, she didn't. This is one of those "open to interpretation" statements she makes nearly every time she says something.

I've wondered about Trig going to school, too. First there was Gryphen's description of seeing Trig at a basketball game. As the crowd roared, Trig did not respond. We have seen photos of Trig wearing glasses (that look too big for him). And, we have seen photos of Trig with no glasses, as in the photos where he is going off to school. We have seen Trig looking at a book, with the book right up against his nose. So much for the glasses.
ReplyDeleteThis spring, Chuck Heath Sr. gave a radio interview when he described Trig as not being toilet trained and being able to say three or four words. It is hard to imagine Trig being mainstreamed in a regular Wasilla elementary school. I wonder what kinds of programs they have do deal with a child with sight and hearing problems, a lack of vocabulary and speech, and a lack of toilet training.
Maybe Trig is going to a private school that doesn't ask for pesky details like a birth certificate. (All it takes is a nice donation to the school). I wonder what kind of therapy Trig has been getting. The websites about DS kids indicate that they should be given both physical and speech therapy at an early age. Sarah is happy to show photos of Trig playing and swimming, heading off for his first day of school (twice, in June and in August), but she has never described his therapy, which must be a major part of his life. (Excuse me, which SHOULD BE a major part of his life). All that Chuck talked about was Trig watching animated cartoons on TV with a baby sitter, or touching the specimens in Chuck's den of dead animals.
Sniff sniff don't make me cry. If Sarah didn't want him then she should have let some other family love him.
DeleteThe accounts of Sarah Palin's 2008 campaign never mention the busy parents making time for Trig's therapy between campaign appearances and interviews. Even with specialist therapy sessions, family participation is vital. Sarah should have made that therapy a priority because she dragged Trig along the the campaign trail.

I have never seen one, single loving picture of Sarah with Trig. No affection, no joy. For someone who is a professional fraud, it would seem in character for her to at least fake it and post pictures of her loving her son. Nada. She has never spoken publicly about Trig's therapy, if he gets any. She was more than happy to be paid $100,000. to describe a fictional version of a sonogram, leaking, labor, and flying but she never talked about what is involved in raising a child with Down syndrome. In one book, she described Trig running towards some animals on a farm, his hand outstretched, and he followed it as if it was his "North Star." More than likely, he wasn't wearing glasses, and not being able to see well, he walked (or ran) with his hand in front of him to avoid bumping into things. (It's a common gesture. Think about it the next time you enter a dark room and stretch your hand out, fumbling for the light switch).

It also needs to be reinforced by his family on a constant basis. It can't be done if the child is being dragged all over the country or bounced from family member to babysitter and back again.

DeleteTodd wore that one shirt, I guess his dress shirt, almost everyday for a month or two. It never looked clean or ironed after first wearing. Someone probably hid it from him and this is the best he could come up with. I think he sleeps in his day clothes. Levi said he would sleep in a lounge chair. Sarah said he only slept 2 hours a night. That lifestyle is bound to effect your head and sense of self.

Or maybe, judging from the photo of Trig last June, he didn't want to go, and so he didn't go to school, and today was the first day of school, even though Uncle Griffin told us that school started last week. Details.
If the second one is the first, when it was posted he hadn't been there long enough to know if he will stay for that one. They may just be posing him and going through some motions.

Oversized backpack is a horribly inconsiderate thing to do to a child with challenges. Could he even walk on his own into a school? Why would they burden him with that huge thing? He has enough of a load to carry. He is at the mercy of adults who will either see to it he gets every advantage or adults who have other things to do and think prayer groups will do god's will.

DeleteTrig should have been receiving occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), and services from a speech/language therapist SINCE BIRTH. Most Developmentally Disabled children can start formal school at age three in special classes geared to their individual needs. Of course, the appropriate glasses/hearing aids, etc. should be worn at all times, except swimming, sleeping, and in the tub. I'd really like to know if Trig has received any of these services, and if so, for how long.

DeleteWhy did Chuck Heath Sr. say that Trig could only say three or four words? I guess when Trig "answers back" he said "yes or no." By the way, honey, you need to go back to school, too. That last sentence looks like a jumbled word salad. Trig does what's asked without a even a raised voice. Why would Trig raise his voice? Why would Todd raise his voice? Can't the boy hear? Why even say something that silly? Todd has talked to him? Why not just say, "When Todd talks to Trig, he responds."

DeleteI used to work with school records, a copy of the birth certificate is put in the cumulative file. But anyone with money could make a good fake, and the staff at the school would never know the difference. If I worked at that school, I would sooooo be taking a peek!
ReplyDeleteI doubt it is a school. More like "home-school" with no followed regulations. They could pass off a drawing from Tripp as a birth certificate. People probably don't want to know, they just want to say a Palin went to their 'school' and they will go along with anything.
DeleteSchools start at different times. Tripp attends private school. Trig probably would too, and that wouldn't adhere to public school schedules necessarily.

DeleteWho knows what they are trained to say now about Trig. Sarah called him the R-word when she could get by with it. They are all scum not to call her out on all her crap and they all allow the innocent precious child to be used, abused with calling him inappropriate names and other abuse and neglect. If anyone loved him, not just some fluffy stuff, they would see he has the OT he needs and stop the lunacy that is hurting him so deeply. Sure he smiles and is cute. DeleteEmpty nest is probably setting in. Piper is still in school and Trig is now in school, more than preschool, which he was in earlier. But there are still 2 dependents.

DeleteDon't forget Track's dependency. Since he failed with Britta and that family, Track has adopted needy buddies and moved back in so they can all be cared for with parents money and housing. There are many dependents and needy around the compound now.

That's what made Tony Soprano (a fictional character) so interesting. He loved his family so much that he insisted on a family dinner on Sundays, yet he cheated on his wife. He could threaten, beat up and kill people and be concerned about his kids. There are people like that in real life, too.

Anom 6:53 that's not the kind of news we want to hear. Did you see what Track, Bristol and Willow accomplished going to school in Wasilla and their after school enrichments? Early pregnancy, drop out, GED, breaking and entering, sex, vandalism..... it wasn't pretty.
If ever there was a rule that didn't apply to Sarah, it's showing a BC for Trig's school registration. All of AK knew about her pregnancy, she being the governor of the great state, and his birth was plastered all over the news. The whole country knew how old Trig was after that hero McCain tapped her for, ya know, that little job of being the GOP VP CANDIDATE of this exceptional country. She showed that flippin' BC to the lamestream media...not to mention to that Katie Couric who was out to get her from the get-go...so unbelievably many flippin' times, the school administrator would have to be living on Mars to question when and where Trig was born! And, anyway, just by looking at him, you can tell he's old enough for kindergarten.

That's assuming that Sarah's definition of 'first day of school' means Trig's actual first day of public kindergarten or private school and not getting dropped off at a tutor's or caretaker's house while having a pic taken for facebook so Trig can be like his buddy Tripp..
