Bill O'Reilly admits that he was wrong about no Republicans being invited to the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. Quick somebody check and see which sign of the Apocalypse this falls under!

Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly has apologized for incorrectly stating that no Republicans were invited to participate in a ceremony this week marking the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for civil rights and Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

In fact, Republican House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor were invited but did not attend. Former President George W. Bush sent a statement in commemoration. O'Reilly had made the incorrect claim on Wednesday, the day of the ceremony.

"The mistake — entirely on me," O'Reilly said on his show Thursday. "I simply assumed that since all the speakers were liberal Democrats, Republicans had been excluded. So here's the tip of the day: Always check out the facts before you make a definitive statement and when you make a mistake, admit it."

Okay what just happened here?

If Fox News really began to "always check out the facts" before making a "definitive statement," and then admitted when they made a mistake, they would essentially cease to exist as we know them.

Let's face it they would then simply be just another cable news channel. You know one that actually did factual reporting instead of spreading propaganda for the RNC and the Koch brothers.

And if Bill O'Reilly is REALLY going to start admitting mistakes that he has made in the past, then the content of his next hundred or more shows will be nothing BUT that. (Remember this is a guy who once claimed that nobody could explain how the tides go in and out.)

Well I personally look forward to Bill O'Reilly's upcoming Apology-a-palooza, however I somehow doubt that Roger Ailes is going to let that go on for very long. Simply put that is NOT the Fox News business model.

I think he HAD to apologize and say he was INCORRECT because their was ABSOLUTE proof out there that Republicans WERE included/invited to participate.

I suggest that FOX is going to try to look better prior to the upcoming elections. Of course, their HOPE will be that the majority of voters across the nation will forget the lies and crap many of their interviewers projected since President Obama ran against John McCain. They will also try to rid themselves of the stigma of being racists!

(Hannity, O'Reilly and the blond bubble heads -and the radio jocks Limbaugh, etc.)

You think they will try and save the Republican party? Don't think it is going to happen!

  2. Right around the time of Bush/Cheney and the run-up to the Iraq war, I think America went through a Little Dark Ages. Fox News was part of it, 911 was part of it, there were lies about Saddam, religious texts replaced scientific texts, What’s Wrong with Kansas, “If you’re not with us you’re against us,” Rove was part of it, the Koch brothers were part of it, racism was OK, and only Christianity would be tolerated. Liberals got hit on so many fronts, it couldn’t have been an accident; it was orchestrated. Somehow, we pulled out of it. Thanks to Jon Stewart and the young people, I suppose. And blogs like this. Thanks.

Remember when "French fries" in the Congressional Dining Room were renamed "Freedom fries" because the French government wouldn't play along with George W?

    Something nasty is going on . . . .
O'Reilly apologizes for lying (like he normally does and never apologizes).
The Blaze says to chill out wingnuts— republican presidents have put their feet on the desk in the Oval office like Obama does (and they use the google to prove it.
AND—John Boehner agreed with the president on Syria (figures he would on this debacle).

Something heinous is up. The Secret Service needs to be alerted.

I think the strategy is to be so excited about O'Reilly's apology for his "mistake" or, rather, lie that every other lie reported by Fox News as the truth will be ignored. Too many people accept what they hear on Fox News as the absolute truth from on high.

So should we be expecting an apology from FOX News for ever hiring Sarah Palin and that it was a big mistake on their part?

    MAN UP FOX NEWS
    LETS KEEP THIS HONESTY GOING.

I'm speechless as well. But on a slightly different note: "since all the speakers were liberal democrats...". My question: if a conservative Republican had been invited to speak, what would she/he have said? Since they're against everything MLK stood for. Just sayin'.

I dated a pathological liar once for a brief time & he would apologize for something small every now & then only to make the blow softer for the next big lie. He even lied to me about his middle name. Once liars get rolling, they just keep on going!

He, also too, said "O'Reilly said the Republicans made a mistake, too. He said they should have been there."

Does this mean the Republicans actually listened to Billo and didn't show up en masse'?

Chew that soap slowly, Billo. While you're at it, give a bar or three to the Quitter from Wasilla.
