Photograph of the huge Ted Cruz rally that took place outside of the US Senate today.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

A rally in support of Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was planned for today outside the U.S. Senate.

Tremble, I say tremble, at the sight of the overwhelming grass roots support that Rafael Ted Cruz has behind him.

Goddammit! Am I out of popcorn again?

Where is Cruz's number one cheer leader, Sarah Palin? Is she still wiping the green eggs and ham off her face? Or maybe she is discussing all 21 hours of Cruz's speech with Piper, Trig and Tripp.

Or she's fantasizing becoming Cruz's running mate... dumb (despite Princeton and Harvard) and dumber. She may be planning the seduction already. He's hotter than John McCain... but that's not saying much.

And they are explaining to Sarah what he said.

What a gift to the universe that ticket would be. Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin. Only a Bachmann/Palin pairing could be better. Democrats could run anyone, even Weiner or Spitzer, and win.

Is that a real picture of the 'crowd'?

Billy Graham's grandson claims Evangelicals are 'worse' than the Catholic Church on responding to sex abuse claims.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2435552/Billy-Grahams-grandson-sex-abuse-claims-Evangelicals-worse-Catholics.html

Speaking at a conference hosted by the Religion Newswriter Association on Thursday, Professor Boz Tchividjian, the third-eldest grandchild of Reverend Billy Graham, also said that Christian missions overseas are a 'magnet' for sex abusers.

OT Professor Tchividjian is in a postion to know.

Of course they call themselves religious. God told them to abuse those kids. Otherwise, they have to admit the truth, that they are just evil.
That rally looks special. Did Cruz actually show up?
Reminds me of the last Tea rally Bachmann threw for about 60 people. Last gasp is coming for this fake movement. Even the Kochs aren't bussing people in any longer.

Not to be picky, but, he already won a U.S. election in Texas. Unfortunately, that counts :(

    3. He said "U.S. election." Cruz won in someplace called "Texas."

      Sorry couldn't resist.

As a Texan I do have to correct the above poster Rafael Cruz won in ONE district in Texas and would never win statewide.

I just read that Obama declared November, Muslim Appreciation Month. Is he cancelling Thanksgiving because some of the pilgrims joined the Tea Party?

Yes, he's cancelling all national holidays until Boehner gets his House in order and sees the light. The House is forbidden to leave until they raise the debt limit and stop the teeth knashing over the ACA. So, we may see another holiday by July 4. (snark)

Things may look a little crappy right now with intransigent rethugs and an expected shutdown but if you look longer term you can see there are a number of forces coming together that indicate a brighter future. It's 3D chess man and the baggers show 2D thinking.

Cruz and Palin are just alike. They fooled the old tea baggers and made the rest of the GOP look like fools.

Check out this really scary post from C4P to get a look at how Palin and Cruz supporters think:

    Watch out everyone.

The GOP is busy preaching about "angry" Tea Partiers...divisive language...the need for everyone to calm down...fears that the angry rhetoric will escalate...out of control grass roots "on the fringe."

The last time politicians in DC were annoyed with ordinary Americans lambasting them, the Gabby Giffords shooting took place...which than allowed the politicians to weep over themselves, and declare themselves all "heroes" for being brave enough to serve the public (and attend all those town hall meetings, where those "meanies" yelled at them.)

I am not saying that the Giffords shooting was planned...but I do think the Media, The Democrats and the GOP Machine will all be working closely together to find some kind of "situation" they can exploit. Some kind of event they can use to spend two weeks trying to make the rest of us feel "guilty" for not appreciating what extraordinary and heroic people they are.

Indeed, Peter King could barely contain himself yesterday when he spoke of the angry phone calls he was getting...and how TED CRUZ IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HOW HIS PEOPLE ACT.

This is the SAME KIND OF STUFF they were saying about Sarah during the Gifford's affair...and King seemed a little too over eager to plant the idea that the grass-roots was "not like the rest of America."

So be on the look-out for Media stories about Tea Party extremists. The GOP, at this point, would love to be able to shove us into the fringe.

They ARE on the fringe!!! THEY are the ones we should all be watching very carefully.

There a about 4 or 5 of them over there that are chomping at the bit, waiting for the signal to wage revolution.

Next the Pees will say that these are the only two protesters out of 2,000,000 that showed up without their Invisibility Cloaks. Yeah, that's it!

Kinda like the million stealth bikers that surrounded the Muslim gathering in DC a few weeks ago, right?
