Tea Party leader says that "Sex is not about fun." I think I finally understand why these people are so angry all the time.

Tea Party leader Jerome Corsi

This is a quote from Captain Cock blocker up there, "Our founding fathers knew that if we went this direction, there was no more moral compass and you won’t be able to explain to your children — you’ll have to face the fact that we lost holding the line on one of the most principle issues in the Bible, and that is sex is not about fun. If you want to have fun read a book."

Yeah okay, now either this idiot has NO idea how to actually have sex, or he is reading some incredibly good books.  I am guessing the first one.

And does he REALLY believe that the Founding Fathers did NOT have sex for fun?

Has he not read about Benjamin Franklin? Or Thomas Jefferson?  I really don't think they shared his view on sex.

This idiot seems to believe that early Americans were these religiously upstanding monks who were completely celibate unless they were married. When in fact we know that they were simply men, and that many of them drank heavily, gambled their lives away, and had quite a lot of sex outside of the bonds of holy matrimony. (You know the BEST kind of sex!)

Hell if sex were not fun we as a species would have died out long ago.

Personally I feel sorry for this asshole's wife. How much pleasure do you think he ever gave her? (You know, before he slid his bulk off of her and let her finally catch her breath and start dealing with the shame of having to actually touch him?)

Gee no wonder these Teabagger's are always waving signs attacking the President and bitching about everything under the sun. They are sexually frustrated.  I also think it kind of explains that whole fixation on guns as well.

If you know what I'm saying.

(H/T to Liberal America.)

He's talking about sex for procreation...keeping the species alive and thriving - not sex for frivolous, meaningless fun. Virtue, belief in a higher call, moral idea of connecting with another to create another human being and believing in life (even before 20 weeks).

Yes, 4:28, we UNDERSTAND what he means...we're laughing at him, however, because he's so hilariously misinformed...kind of like you!

Your kind puts more emphasis on embryos than you do on brain cells. To you, a two-celled being is more important than the 15-year-old it's growing inside. You probably think, like the idiot Mitt Romney, the Catholic church and Sarah Palin, that a 30-year-old mother of three should sacrifice her life in order to keep a fetus growing inside of her. Even though -- LITERALLY -- in nature, that baby would have died without its mother because...uh DUH...no milk and no 7-11s to buy baby formula from.

You imbeciles who hop around about the sanctity of "life" are probably the same idiots who sneer at women who dare to feed their babies in public. Because...you know...boobies are unnatural!

      Eyeroll.

If you care so much about keeping the species alive and thriving, you should:

      a. Care about global warming.
      b. Be concerned about the proliferation of processed foods.
      c. Be opposed to people having 10+ kids.
      d. Get active in getting the minimum wage raised so that single working mothers can provide for their children.
      e. Promote sustainable, local industries and farms and NOT shop at Walmart and, it pains me to say, Target.
      f. Lobby congress to re-fund programs to promote birth control in third world countries, as studies show that women in these environments who have their first child outside of their teen years tend to have better economic success and more successful women.

But you won't do any of these. You'll just continue to stand on our public streets and hold pictures of fetuses to commuters and you'll continue to elect stupid, ignorant politicians who would raise your taxes and lower your benefits so that CEOs and private equity managers can pay even less in taxes than they do, and you'll justify this by saying that they work hard, even though it doesn't take a brain to see that these people do not, in fact work very hard, but you'll think this because you're brainwashed by your church and your church will no doubt promote this idea because, probably, the pastor of your church probably makes ten times more than you do and really needs those tax breaks, too, because he's in a higher tax bracket, even though he is supposed to be making a living by spreading the word of a man who believed in living in poverty and helping the poor but, hey...your pastor needs his iPhone, too, I guess, probably for "frivolous, meaningless fun" sex because, let's face it, it seems like there's a scandal about pastors sexing ladies -- or dudes -- at least every six months or so, and that's only from big churches and no one cares about your measly pastor.

Also, fun is never meaningless...and I feel sorry for you do thinking that.

In defense of 4:28, I think this person is trying to present the argument, and thinking of the TP in the article. This was the thinking of a minority of the founding fathers, the Puritans. For obvious reasons, the concept never really caught on,

to anon @ 7:05 - regarding point "f": I think that we need to re-fund birth control in THIS almost Third World country now that the religious right is attempting to take over our country, and is winning in many places.

Religion must be divorced from our laws and government. All religions should be respected, but left to those who believe. State and Church were never meant to be married. I do not wish to live in a theocracy where we are forced to follow whichever religious group is in power at the time. We are living in a democracy, or at least attempting to hang onto a democratic way of governing and living.

  3. The founding fathers, particularly Benjamin, loved sex. Franklin disappointed me by trying to maneuver an attractive French woman into having an affair with him, even though it would have destroyed her marriage; I thought that was very selfish. But he let at least one slave just walk away without repercussions. He was a man of mixed values.

I doubt Jefferson had sex with his slaves for any reason except fun.

Their continued attempt to link our country with their Bible is deeply troubling, and also hilarious, as this quote is.

Benjamin Franklin? Lots of children, some legitimate and some not. He liked sex, and he read and wrote books, too! Sometimes he was flying a kite or inventing bifocals or stoves, and then, when his other activities were done, he went to bed -- with a smile.

Thomas Jefferson? Several children with Sally Hemings. Then he wrote books, read books, founded a university, studied architecture. Appeared to have enjoyed all aspects of his life.

George Washington? It's thought that he was made sterile by a childhood disease, but he certainly loved and married and had a fond relationship with his wife, while also serving as the first President and commander of the Revolutionary forces.

John Adams and Abigail? Their numerous letters to each other showed their great affection for each other -- for each other's minds, as well as for their bodies.

Monroe, Madison, Hamilton? People were lusty then, just was they are now, and aways have been. There was no yputube or instagram -- but there is the evidence that there were children being born constantly.
As well as books being read. Just at different times.

The Puritans all procreated...Queen Victoria wasn't a Victorian -- she had many children and mourned the loss of her husband, whom she loved deeply, for almost 40 years after his death. If she hadn't enjoyed sex with him, she'd have been content to read books all that time, without complaining.

Anyway, which part of the Bible tells us that sex is not about fun? What about all those patriarchs who went off with their handmaids? How did mankind go from Adam and Eve, two people, to more than six billion on earth today, if there wasn't something in this sex thing? Didn't God give sex to mankind, to procreate and be fruitful? It can't all have been done as a solemn duty.

Humans were being born even before books were invented! Even when only a handful of people could read the handful of manuscripts available -- the rest of the population had to make do with going to bed (together) when the sun went down and getting up at dawn.

He probably beats his wife so that he can purge the guilt of any pleasure he might have had. Because, of course, it is all the woman's fault. Seriously, more likely he molests children to prove to them how it isn't supposed to be fun.

There is a Colonial autobiography by a man named Byrd or Bird who included a wonderful passage about the delights of bundling his wife on the billiards table. No fun, mah foot! Perhaps the know-nothing-and-proud-of-it Corsi thinks bundling refers to the man's wife folding laundry. As the great-granddaughter of a man whose mother's husband died two years before his birth, I suspect strongly that at least one of the partners, maybe both, had "fun."

  16. Anonymous6:43 AM

G., don't knock fidelity in marriage or in relationships. Loyalty and faithfulness are a good thing; treating others as we would want to be treated applies here too.

Being unfaithful hurts the partner, the whole gamut. It doesn't make the world go round. Love is not just about 'doing', it's also about 'not doing', to someone that will be forever hurt and feel betrayed. If people can't control their impulses, the whole culture implodes - and we wonder why so many young kids are so angry.

Looking at that picture, I have no doubt that his wife wants as little to do with him as possible. He's not an attractive man, inside or out. Therefore, he resorts to claiming that sex for procreation is the only permitted kind. Since I assume his wife is long past childbearing years, it's a great excuse as to why she won't touch him with a ten foot pole.

I have no doubt sex has always been fun for men, but I think it's only recently that women have had the freedom to have sex for fun.

Nothing like a pregnancy every year to make sex seem less than fun. The toll on the body, the very real threat of death during childbirth. Even if one did have fun, then the endless waiting for your period. Of course, being "damaged goods" could also ruin your life prospects.

I'm not sure how "fun" sex was for women before the birth control. Such fun always came at a higher price than it did for men.
