Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

The White House tonight.
Well THAT is certainly not going to help with that conspiracy theory about the President's sexuality.
Thank you! Seven years and counting. Every day is a blessing. If you are a woman, please remember to get your yearly mammogram! Found mine when it was very small but one that grows rapidly and by the time I would have felt it, would have been too late! If "Pink" reminds you, not a thing wrong with that! Now go get one scheduled and hopefully you can count off the days you have been given if the bastard is hiding in there! Komen did my biopsies....two benign, one small and deadly. The doctors and nurses were #1!
Remember, President Obama has 4 ladies living with him under that roof and sure his wife and mother is glad he is reminding the other women in this country are glad he cares about all women as well as his own family. Didn't his mother die of breast cancer or was it his grandmother? I doubt not one of those people in the GOP clown car gives a hoot about the women in the country, let alone their wives and their health concerns. The White House looks lovely in Pink to honor the women of this country.....all of them!
Im glad they dumped the ribbon in the portico that was used in the last administration. This does honor the cause in a meaningful way and reflects well on a President that respects equality and the rights of women and men. (Men get breast cancer as well, unfortunately)
Pete Souza on His Long-Term Photographic Partnership With President Barack Obama
PDN: And anything about your relationship with the President you want to comment on? Does he comment on your photos, for example? Has he said anything to you or anything publicly [about your work]?
PS: Yeah, we hang photos on the walls of the West Wing. He's usually struck by the photos that he's not in, or photos that he's in with his family, or photos that he's in with little kids. I think those are the three categories of photographs that he enjoys the most.
President Obama Responds to Rep. Pete Sessions’ Ugly Insult with Dignity and Grace
...When confronted with a vicious and ugly face to face insult, the president responded in a dignified and heroic fashion. What President Obama has faced from Republicans is reminiscent of what Jackie Robinson faced when he broke baseball’s color line. The difference is that Robinson was a ballplayer. Barack Obama is the President of the United States.
It is unimaginable that a white president — Democratic or Republican — would ever have to deal with members of Congress insulting them in such a disgraceful face to face way. Rep. Sessions disrespected the President of the United States. He disrespected the presidency, and he disrespected Barack Obama as a human being.
President Obama’s response was admirable. His dignity and restraint in the face of such disrespect is something that America can proud of.
The intentional, systemic Republican disrespect of President Obama will ensure that they will be remembered as villains. Whether you agree or disagree with this president politically, his response to this private insult revealed the character of a decent man who is always mindful that he is carrying the weight of history.
Barack Obama has been a good president, but he is an even better person.
POLL: White Conservatives Only Group Opposed To Reducing Racial and Ethnic Inequality
It is an undeniable fact that the United States is becoming increasingly diverse, rapidly heading toward the day when there will no longer be any clear racial or ethnic majority in the U.S. population. You might think America, with its long history of racial panics, might be freaking out.
But it turns out, according to a massive new study of public attitudes about rising diversity by CAP and PolicyLink, that’s not so. Americans are reacting amazingly well to growing diversity — with the curious exception of white conservatives.
...White conservatives were the only demographic group to report majority opposition to new investments to reduce racial and ethnic inequality — 51 percent total oppose these initiatives.
I wonder what the color is for colon cancer awareness? Is the White House going to become an ever changing light show now?
Seriously, you'd think breast cancer was the only one out there (and I'm a woman with a sister who is survivor). I caught a glimpse of a football game last weekend and all the players were wearing pink leg wraps. Enough.
I agree with your post. Breast cancer is not the most common cancer, and it's not the most deadly cancer. But, it's BREASTS and men have a fetish over that body part, so it gets the most attention.
Oh....I was wrong about which way the sloping forehead crowd would go (I thought the reddish hue would revive the red Communist paranoia)
If they see it as PINK instead of red, the natural route is to get catty in a gay manner.
So, we've heard from ONE person, who shows he is scared to death that a gay person will get so close, that he'll lose control and become an instant homosexual.
I'll never do a Koen "Dace For The Cure" again. How soon people forget just what they do with their money.
ReplyDeleteTo all who have lost loved ones and those who've survived, I salute you!

ReplyDeleteOh, this is going to be great: hearing all the whackjob comments as a result of this photo.
ReplyDeleteLike: "I done NUDE it! He's nuthin' but a goldurned commie-nist nazi Muzzlin atheist!"

ReplyDeleteThat being said, I LOVE our "commie, pinko, fag", and I think the White/Pink House looks beautiful tonight.
Me, too, Lynne.
DeleteMajor typos on that original post, Lynne. I apologize to the readership.

Beautifully said and I totally agree w/you, 9:32 PM. I so respect the President for the way he handles this racism and obstruction from the right.
DeleteHe is a far better man than they!
Well color me surprised...NOT.
