CBS has apologized for reporting lies about Benghazi. What do you say Fox News?

Courtesy of Media Matters:

By the end of Fox News' regular programming schedule at 11 PM EST on November 8, the network had acknowledged the fact that CBS pulled its 60 Minutes report in only one 26-second segment. On Special Report, host Bret Baier stated, "CBS is backing off a report on 60 Minutes -- we told you about last week -- that relied on a source whose credibility has crumbled."

I actually don't expect Fox to issue an apology, or retract anything they report, about this, the fast and furious debacle, or the fake IRS targeting Tea Party organizations "scandal."

After all only actual news organizations are directed by journalistic ethics.

OK now the extreme right wing National Review is having issues with Palin:

Is Palin Saying Catholics Aren’t Christian?

Catholics aren't Christians. They're papists. In fact most "christians" aren't Chrisitians because they do not properly understand or follow the Bible. Send me a bunch of money and I'll explain the details along with how to save your sorry non-xitian ass from the torments of eternal hell fire. Send lots of money, pretty much everything you've got should do. Then send me some more, and I'll keep you up dated on how you can be sure to survive all sorts of horrible stuff that's going to be inflicted upon everyone who hasn't sent me a whole bunch of money.

She is not listed as the last, keynote speaker in the program. The change was made at the last minute. Maybe Palin just shows up late so she'll get the last speaking spot.

  5. And that was only a half apology, others have been fired for much less - 12 months they researched & it was proven wrong in 2 days - MSM reporters have never heard of google - still took 2 weeks and the NYTimes before they would even suggest there was an issue.

Lara should be fired. Also the week after it aired, Steve Kroft gave 3 viewer's responses (all positive towards the story, and none which were negative). 60 minutes has really gone downhill fast. Apologies afterwards don't undo the damage they did. Most people hear the original long version of the lie -- a small fraction will listen to the very short "correction"

Sarah, the expert in all things including American history, compares debt to slavery: http://blogs.desmoinesregister.com/dmr/index.php/2013/11/09/in-iowa-sarah-palin-compares-federal-debt-to-slavery/article?nclick_check=1

It doesn't matter if CBS apologizes and says that their witness was not credible, Sarah brought up Benghazi in her speech tonight. Maybe she can get Graham to hold another Benghazi hearing, too.

Indeed - the harm was done well before the "apology". Most on the right will not admit to the existence of an apology

CBS promoted their 60 minutes interview to draw in the viewers of their imaginary story. Fake story will remain the truth in the minds of most people who tuned in.

Fox Cable Channel is an (effective) arm of Republican Propaganda -- they're not bound by ethical conduct or journalistic standards. The only reason they would apologize would be to keep up the act (to their viewers) that they're a real news organization, not because they were sorry for broadcasting bunk -- they're constantly broadcasting right-wing bunk.

The publishing company that published the book from the Benghazi fraud employs Mary Matalin! I think she is an editor or something, and she approved the book. Hopefully her job is on the line, she is nothing more than a right wing HACK.

What else would you expect from a network run by Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch.

They are vicious trolls that care only about money and putting blonde nincompoops like Hasselbck on display for the old white teaparty droids.

Any "news" organization that would allow Palin or Alex Jones to appear as an analyst or correspondent deserves every bit of ridicule and shame that its humanly possible.

It's good that CBS apologized but it was too little and too late. Once their Benghazi episode aired it was out there for the ages. Heads should roll at "60 Minutes." Remember that Dan Rather was fired over reporting a story that was essentially true: George W. Bush has never explained his bizarre "military experience" with the Texas Air National Guard.
