The biggest obstacle to Chris Christie's nomination for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination may come from the classroom.

Courtesy of Jersey Jazzman:

Well, I was in a crowd of all Christie supporters with my sign. They were all eyeing me apprehensively. A few tried to stare me down. Some of them even blocked me from the crowd. When his bus arrived one of his henchmen went on the bus to speak to him. I was right at the door. It was like he was told to deliberately turn away from me when he got off of the bus.

I went to listen to him speak. I stood in the front of the crowd that was standing towards the back. I know he caught sight of me. He stared at me a few times during his speech. I left right as his speech was over to position myself right at the door of the bus. He came out, shaking everyone's hands as he was getting on the bus.

I asked him my question, expecting him to ignore me but he suddenly turned and went off. I asked him: "Why do you portray our schools as failure factories?" His reply: "Because they are!" He said: "I am tired of you people. What do you want?"

I told him I want money for my students. He fought back with the amount that he has spent on education. My response was along the lines of the fact his amount was not actually an increase from the previous years, given the rate of inflation and other factors.

The crowd started arguing with me. He screamed at me to just do my job. The crowd cheered for him. I just looked at them and told them: "Hey, this is my life. I had to do this." I tried to follow him to Atlantic City to continue the conversation but the roads were blocked by police when I got there.

"I am tired of you people. What do you want?"

How about a Governor and presidential candidate who respects education and supports the teachers who provide it?

As we know Christie has kind of made yelling at teachers "his thing." However I have to imagine that the majority of voters do NOT see them as the whiny, over privileged  parasites that he does.

Is the SMILING !! woman standing next to him in the red jacket the elusive wife "Mary Pat" that he refers to? If my husband was being verbally abusive like that to somebody I would be embarrassed. If that's his wife smiling at that spectacle she is as inappropriate as he is.

I saw them earlier today being asked questions by a female reporter (her name escapes me) and Mrs. Christie was smiling like a Cheshire cat. The questions were serious and she just kept on grinning. It looked odd. Just like this picture with the teacher. It makes Mrs. Christie appear clueless. Which, so far, in my opinion, is not far from the truth.

He's probably verbally abusive to his wife too!!!! Wouldn't surprise me one bit. He's too reactive and doesn't seem to be able to control himself when confronted, asked questions of or in disagreement!

He'll NEVER make it to the POTUS!

In that picture, Christie's facial expression, posture and finger-wagging clearly show that he is angry. NO ONE in the picture is smiling except the woman next to him. If that is his wife, she is obviously clueless about the emotion of the situation and is reacting inappropriately.

Christie himself is just an angry, nasty, volatile bully who has no business near any elected office.

Mary Pat and Gov Crispy Creme have been on our television all week long. (Philly television handles the South Jersey Market). She's had that smile plastered on her face the entire time. I think someone crazyglued wax lips from halloween to her mouth. Gov Crispy Creme wants ALL THE ATTENTION.

  2. Correction. The biggest obstacle to Chris Christie's nomination is his oppo file. It's quite juicy. If he gets the nom I hope the primary challengers will have left some for us.

There is no way that guy will win the Presidency.

      Oh, a teacher!

      Insert Sarah Palin eyeroll!

Sarah, who has teachers in her family.

Everybody is a servant but sarah,
And Sarah Looks down on servants, right, Sarah?

Reading comprehension must not be your strong suit.

I was talking about all the skeletons in Christie's closet, nothing to do with teachers or being a teacher. Generally in politics those skeletons are documented in what is called an "Oppo File", short for "Opposition Research". These files are kept by potential opponents and usually the national parties for use in future elections. I've heard Christie's is interesting (well there, I guess I did try to teach something there).

And if you went back and saw my comment history you'd learn pretty quickly there is no way I am Sarah Palin.

Try to cut down on the day-drinking, or get your meds adjusted.

  3. Disagree. The biggest obstacle to Christie's nomination is his uber, gross, morbid obesity. (The times of President Taft are long gone.)

      My darling,

Why do you think he got his stomach stapled, finally?

He's allowing enough time to lose the weight before the campaign.

He sure can be abrasive! I really don't think he'll be picked as the Republican candidate to run for POTUS. I don't think he fits w/many throughout the nation like he seems to in New Jersey.

I don't see him working well w/countries outside of the USA either. Seems to have a quick temper and it would never work when having to negotiate.

    He'd never get my vote!

The only thing that people in deep red states seem to like less than someone from New York is someone from New Jersey. As a NYer who traveled to Alabama each spring for several years, I cannot count the number of times people were amazed someone from NY could, in fact, be a nice person...and they even told me so, as if I would be complimented by that instead of insulted!

Christie may have the novelty factor in his abrasive personality, but when it comes to the ballot box, there's no chance he'll win over the more conservative primary voters.

I also shudder at the thought of him dealing with foreign leaders. He seems to feel that tact and diplomacy are something to be avoided at all costs.

    2. Anonymous4:07 AM

He has no foreign policy experience and probably has no interest in schooling himself in international relation. Why should he, after all? That's not "his thing." God help us if he somehow beats Hillary!!!

Great reality check on Christie. While he's perhaps not as bad as the tea party crowd. It's obvious he has a problem with women and anyone whom in the least challenges Christie or his minions. So much for even him as a GOP Presidential candidate in 2016. He's as bad as any of the tea people in terms of anger and not listening or not letting anyone challenge their incorrect views and statements.

Eight years of "The Decider" would seem like a piece of cake after a couple of months with Christie in the White House.

He's a nasty man who is convinced that he's always right, and that he knows more than anyone and everyone else. NOT good qualities for the President of the United States!

My favorite was when he held a very expensive special election to get another Republican in office- when that money could have gone to something called Hurricane Sandy.Relief.

I challenge bullyboy Christie to spend one month in a classroom teaching full-time. Assclown would be singing a different tune. He has no clue what happens in education. I am sure he is totally blind to how government mandate is eroding education and making it difficult for teachers to actually teach.

As someone who spends every day in a classroom of fifth graders, I guarantee that he would have parents calling the Superintendent's office within a day, demanding that he be fired.

He couldn't deal with basic classroom management, no less trying to actually accomplish some academic instruction.

Make sure it's a BIG class due to increased class sizes and budget cuts.

      Every day for a month.

Make him go to all of the meetings and trainings and give him first year probationary teacher's pay.

Bet he wouldn't last a day before disciplinary action for his inappropriate language and unprofessional demeanor.

I suspect that they've either learned from him that they can get whatever they want by bullying those around them, OR are so cowed by his anger that they are afraid of everything.

I REALLY feel sorry for his kids' teachers, since I'm sure they can do nothing right and are berated and blamed if his little darlings get in trouble for anything.

His children attend Catholic school so they are perfectly safe from budget cuts and teacher abuse.

Chris Christie is one of those GOP guys who are occasionally reasonable so good liberal folks stumble over themselves in their willingness to see "a change." Well, Chris Christie is not such a super guy after all. I trust the people in New Jersey who speak out about his abrasiveness and his meanness. When Hurricane Sandy hit he had no choice but to be nice to President Obama. I only credit him with having been smart enough to realize that he needed the Obama Administration and the support of the American people, all of us. Aside from that, I don't see him as much different from any of the rest of the arrogant, conservative Republicans we have come to know and dislike so intensely.

Amazing isn't it. Chris Christie is abhorant---but some think he's a moderate. He is as bloviating as his teabagging counterparts only he actually has survival skills. But I still I do not understand why the people of New Jersey keep voting for this POS.

I live in NJ and the thinking residents know that's he's a bully and has done nothing for our state. His PR staff are great spin doctors. Sadly, we know that he's going to be reelected, but my Hubby and I will know in good conscience that we didn't vote for him.

The "whiny, over-privileged parasites" in this country are at the TOP of the economic food-chain.

The reason so many people don't see that is because they are told it's not true by:

    Steve Doocy : $2M / $800k/yr salary
    Brian Kilmeade : $1.5M / $200k/yr salary
    Elizabeth Hasselback : $12M / $1M/yr salary
    Sarah Palin : $12M / $1M/yr salary
    Gretchen Carlson : $2.5M / $800k/yr salary
    Megyn Kelly : $15M / $6M/yr salary
    Bill O'Reilly : $75M / $15M/yr salary

Now why would any of those nice folks think the rich are paying too much in taxes and the poor not enough?

Governor Crispy Creme, and his lovely wife, MaryPat are barnstorming New Jersey. The sad thing is, there are people in New Jersey that find his bullying "endearing" and they believe the bullshit that comes out of his mouth. He's raised a lot of money, but I doubt he'll make it as a national candidate for president. Gov Creme's got a lot of 'splaning to do. He spoke against President Obama during the Romney Campaign, but when he needed President Obama's help and Brooooooce Springsteen's autograph, he made damn sure he got the photo ops he needed to do what's right for the people. Then he misappropriated funds to support another candidate for the GOP.
He's not "right" enough for the right wing, and he's not "centrist" enough for the rest of the GOP.
He's got anger management issues, he's a bully, and he loathes teachers and women. He had his stomach band surgery in the hopes of cleaning up his image for the presidential run. It's not what goes in his mouth that's his problem, it's what comes out.

What gives with his wife? The woman Christie is bullying is trying to defend her position and is being disrespected and Mary Pat can only smile? Methinks this is just another cold and calculating GOP couple who is only in it for the power, money and prestige NOT to serve people and engage in civilized debate. The more the public sees Chris Christie, the more they will be repelled: he has so few human moments.
