Jon Stewart's response to Megyn Kelly's assertion that Santa Claus is white, and it's a fact, must not be missed. Update!

"Santa is just white! And who are you actually talking to? Children who are sophisticated enough to be watching a news channel at ten o'clock at night, yet innocent enough to still believe Santa Claus is real, yet racist enough to be freaked out if he isn't white."

So true.

By the way apparently somebody decided to change Megyn Kelly's Wikipedia page today to reflect her new claim to fame.

I understand that Kelly is planning to address her bizarre assertion (Which by the way is completely false.) on her show tonight. I might just provide an update to this post based on what she has to say.

Update: Okay so I just saw the opening of Kelly's show and her explanation for the controversy is that  she was joking, and liberals have no sense of humor.

Oh she also said that she and Fox News were big targets in this country. (Oh yeah, THAT'S the reason you are being mocked.)

I invite you to play the video at the top of this post again and tell me if you can discern if the slightest hint of humor coming from Megyn Kelly as she states emphatically that Santa, and of course Jesus, are white.

What was the change on her Wikipedia page? As far as I can see, it's gone.

Wikipedia's editors are pretty quick. A colleague posted a bogus entry to see how long it would take to disappear- 10 minutes. He was so impressed he sent them a donation.

I've been donating to them for several years now and I have to admit it was because they decided to be really careful about the postings, which is why they no longer have the questionable reputation they used to have.

      And yes, they are FAST!

Why can this group of bigoted idiots never, ever, admit they are wrong? They are the most juvenile bunch of overpaid people I have ever seen. Kelly turned into the female Hannity quite quickly, didn't she? Yeah, Megyn, blame it on liberals. We have no sense of humor. It's been beaten out of us by the complete lunacy airing on your network. We are beyond humor when you think threatening the President is funny, guns are funny, and bigotry is just free speech.Did she do the standard, "if I offended anyone, that was not the intention" speech too?

Sorry to hear Jon Stewart agree that Jesus was a historical figure. Since when is "historical" synonymous with "fictional"? Because there is no evidence whatsoever that the person who has come to be worshiped as Jesus Christ ever existed. There is no physical proof, and there are no contemporary historical records that mention his existence. There are only the (conflicting) gospels written many years after Jesus's supposed death. Now think about how frequently today, current news is misreported, and ask yourself just how likely those gospels are to be based on anything but someone's imagination. Also ask yourself why, if a man was going around Israel working miracles, and was then crucified by the Romans and then rose from the dead, he's not part of the Romans' historical record.

I am so tired of the utter ignorance of the actual FACTS surrounding the total lack of any proof whatsoever for this magical figure who is no more real than the Fox version of Santa Claus.

There are many people who humbly pride themselves on their "faith" in this fairytale, who love to use it to impress people with their specialness. Instead they are just showing off their inability to learn facts for themselves.

      Or perhaps:

An historical person, Jesus, is to the biblical Jesus Christ as St. Nicholas is to Santa Claus.

You may want to check out what historian and atheist Bart Ehrman says about the existence of Jesus.

I don't need to check out what Bart Ehman (never heard of him) said about Jesus. I have studied the topic extensively. Jesus Christ is not a historical personage. He didn't exist. Period. If he did, and did what is attributed to him, there would be some record of it. There is not. He's a fantasy figure.

THAT was funny! Only John Stewart give that 'look'.

They were serious, both Kelly and Crowley, in their righteous indignation that anyone would even question Santa's or Saint Nicklaus' skin color. Heck, even Donald Trump doesn't need to see the birth certificate, so it must be true,

So, the lady from Slate who entertained a black Santa gets the ire of Miss Crowley and Kelly. Two of the whitest blondes with big white teeth have their Christmases ruined if anyone tries to reformat Santa, or a man who lived hundreds of years ago. If the Saint Nicklaus story is true, that he did indeed go to homes to give to needy kids, then what difference does it make what skin color he was? Is that important enough to look grimly into the camera and tell kids, "white kids now, don't panic", or "we're here to set the record straight so you white kids can dream of candy canes and white Barbies and white GIJoes. These women are way below their pay grade, and insulting.

It must be extremely difficult to continue the craziness in light of facts that continually record the truth. But, I guess, not really in Faux world. What America are they defending everyday? Not the one I grew up in.

What can she possibly have to say for herself to change yesterday's show? That her lawn jockeys are white as well? Anything short of an apology or leaving the network is acceptable. What's right for Martin is right for Megyn NOPE. It's a joke, and if liberals and blacks can't take a joke, fuck them.

Jon Stewart's clip really made me laugh, and after today, I really needed that.

Gee, I wonder WHO changed Megyn's Wiki page so quickly? I owe them a debt of gratitude because it reflects the real Megyn.

After seeing the clip yesterday, I recalled one year when my second daughter wanted a "Kenya" Doll for christmas. We're white, and when I purchased the doll at Toys R Us, the old white woman at the register "informed" me that I didn't want that doll, I "wanted" the white version (who's name escapes me at the moment). I told her no, I wanted the black doll, and again she "informed me" of what I wanted, unless, of course, I was buying the doll for a black child.

Of COURSE. It's a fucking DOLL my daughter happened to want, and this bigoted bitch wanted to "educate" me that other white kids would make fun of my daughter. I can't imagine how it feels to have my race and culture constantly marginalized, ignored, or mocked in Society, from the media all the way to the halls of justice.

  17. That's probably one of the biggest fabricated lies Fox has ever said over the air. She most definitely was not joking and Megyn's lie should now be the most talked about topic in the media. By doing so should help point FOX's history of misleading their viewers, but should also point out Kelly's total lack of professional behavior.

Don Lemon Tears into Megyn Kelly: ‘What Your Jesus and Santa Look Like Is Entirely Up to You’

In a CNN segment this afternoon, host Don Lemon and guests mocked a Fox segment in which Megyn Kelly declared that Santa Claus and Jesus are both indisputably white.

After playing the clip of Kelly telling viewers it is a “verifiable fact” that both Christian figures are white, Lemon and guests Jamelle Bouie and Eric Marrapodi did what many American viewers did this week: Laugh.

“I can’t believe I’m discussing this,” Lemon said, introducing the segment as a response to how many opinionated comments he’s received on social media since Kelly’s segment aired.

Bouie explained his Daily Beast column that decried Kelly’s beliefs about Santa being factually “white” as “utterly ridiculous,” while Lemon inserted that “Santa Claus is black” to him and many other black households. But the panel eventually moved off the Santa argument, noting that it’s a “ridiculous” debate because of it being a fictional character.

“Where [Kelly] lost me was with the Jesus thing,” Lemon said. CNN senior producer Marrapodi explained that “we don’t really know” the skin color of Jesus, and it’s highly likely he had an “olive complexion” as a Middle Eastern man in the first century.

“Anyone who has studied the Bible and anyone who knows about the heritage or roots of Jesus knows he was a dark-skinned person and wasn’t a white man,” Lemon asserted. “Not probably wasn’t; he wasn’t a white man. He was of a darker persuasion.”

Ultimately, Lemon and his panel concluded: “What your Santa and your Jesus looks like is entirely up to you.”
