The Boy Scouts, an organization famous for being overtly religious and hating on the gays, working to help county employees in Utah, the home of the Mormon Church, an organization that has worked quite hard to oppress the LGBT community and deny them their civil rights, in order to help gay couples make a life long commitment to one another.
They may be one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

I, also, too, was shocked when I saw this the other day. Similar to Austin in Texas, SLC is an oasis of sanity in the Cult State.

ReplyDeleteI noticed that in photos yesterday! Good for the Boy Scouts in Utah and the legal change that is going on there for the LGBT community. The country is slowly, but surely changing to respect each and every one of us!

DeleteI see that the state of Utah is trying to get it to the Supreme Court, as an emergency, to stop these people in the long lines to get marriage equality. More power to the clerks who are helping the marriages happen and to those wonderful kids who brought the pizza. And Happy New Year to all you people who finally get to marry the person you love!
ReplyDeleteWhat's happening there in Utah? Did a radioactive cloud drift over them and change them overnight? Not all of them. Some counties closed their courthouses rather than issue a marriage license to gays. I thought that the Mormons made up most of the Boy Scout Troops. We know that there is no tolerance in the Boy Scouts for Gays and Atheists. Something must have happened there, what happened?
