Commercial featuring preparation for the Sochi Olympics hits right in the feels.

I don't know if it is just a symptom of getting older of if someone is injecting estrogen in my omelets, but I choke up at virtually every, even remotely, sentimental commercial these days.

This one destroyed me.

I love me some Olympics! I get the warm fuzzies also , too. As a skater, I of course love the winter Os. I remember the absolute thrill of skating in Lake Place for my first competition. Magical!
That said, I am very nervous about Sochi. I just have a vert bad feeling. The venue is a mess, and I think it is ripe for an untoward event - one that couldn't/didn't happen in London as security was too good. Sochi - highest bidder wins. I would not be surprised at all. Totally serious.
    You heard it here first.

Jesse, Dads are included in that. You've certainly been there for your daughter as my Dad was for me!

I totally agree at 5:29. I will be very happy to be wrong. I don't trust certain people enough to have faith this is going to be secure. Those people in the Caucasus's (sp?) are really pissed.

As someone who gets misty-eyed at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (don't ask me why...I just do!) and runs through at least two tissues per Hallmark ad, I also sniffled a bit at this ad.

I always watch the Olympic Opening and Closing ceremonies and simultaneously cheer and cry. I've been fortunate to work on two Paralympic Games and several other international sports events, so watching these kinds of competitions always brings back special memories for me.

I hope that all of the athletes, families, staff, and spectators are able to enjoy these Winter Games in safety.

Happens to me a lot. And it happens to Dads too!. A few weeks before Christmas, a young man whose been dating our daughter for ages, called and asked if it would be ok for him to bring some gifts before the holidays. Not thinking anything of it, We said "Sure, but you do know she's in school and won't be here:" And he says "Yeah, I know".
Long story short, the reason he came was to ask my husband for his daughter's hand in marriage, he bought a ring and intended to propose Christmas Eve. He sat in the family room while I finished Television, and Mr Winecooler was in the garage tinkering with a snow blower and a box of tissues. Christmas Eve was like a blurr. We kept waiting and waiting and waiting while opening gifts, reminiscing Christmas's past and eating way too much. She said "Yes, but after graduation".

We love the Winter Olympics the best. I just hope they run smoothly and the Ruskies behave themselves.

Sheesh, Mrs Winecooler, you ambushed me with your story and my eyes welled up here. I'm switching to bottled water bc I must be ingesting some female hormones, too, also. I think it's part of Agenda 21 or the pre-op phase to 'soften us up' for an alien invasion and occupation. And it's working. Last weekend I got teary-eyed watching Monsters U and Monsters, Inc. I'm not even going to try to watch this vid right now.

Please do find the time to watch the movie. Feelings and expressing them is what makes us human and life worth living. I just want to know where the past 26 years have gone! It's like walking past a window, admiring the view and moving on.
