My daughter asked me to share this.

And you know she's right. Just wait for it.

    Of course!

And now, after so many years, since no Marxist, Communist, foreign reign of terror has been achieved by that dastardly Kenyan, the far right will have to come up with all-new smear campaigns.
Lots and lots of sexist comments --as gross as they can make them -- are all they have right now. Monica? That was 16+ years ago, and the Republicans had the chance to get rid of Bill Clinton back then, and they failed.
All that took place before Geo. Bush's ignoring the intelligence warning a month before 9/11, the thousands of live lost and the trillions of dollars spent on two feckless wars, and Bush's total lack of ability to deal with Katrina, one of our biggest national catastrophes.
    Bengazi won't stick.
And there is still the clown-car assortment of GOP wannabes.
    Very interesting.

  3. It's missing just one word:
"That awkward moment when millions of racists suddenly become sexist, too.

It needs a word removed, too: "suddenly." Suddenly?

Just because I disagree with their policies, makes me neither racist, nor sexist. Being a conservative female does not make me a traiter to my gender. It means that I agree with what many of the problems are, I just disagree with the solutions. I will vote against Hilary if she runs, not because of gender, but because I think that the person and her policies are awful and that if given the opportunity, she would be bad for the country. (Hi mom-she reads this blog, and usually disagrees with my views).

When I was young, and Mondale picked a female runningmate, I was shocked that a girl would state "I wouldn't vote for him because if he died, she would be like...What do I do?" It bugged me enough to stick with me this long. I don't care about gender, I don't care about color, I certainly don't care about sexual orientation(I wasn't present in your bedroom last night, so I don't give a crap who was!) I care about the people in this country, and who I feel can help them, and my family, get back on our collective feet.

If you are voting for conservatives, you are voting against reproductive rights and equal pay for equal work. In my mind, that makes you a traitor to your sex.

You are also, by the way, voting against equal right for same sex couples.

Yet, you care about the people in this country?

Sorry, to say, but it sounds like all you care about it yourself and your family (except the gay ones and the women who want reproductive freedom and equal pay for equal work).

    Dear 4:35am,
Please share with me and the others here what a conservative has ever done to help the majority of the population get back of their collective feet? I ask because I used to vote conservative and I waited and waited but as you probably know, things got worse, not better. Unless one is a purveyer of war supplies or Bibles I can't imagine what conservative plan you think would be helpful. The bank I work for has cut my pay three times since 2008. That's their plan. Funny, my light bill, grocery bill etc has only risen since 2008. Do you know about a plan I somehow missed? Please enlighten me.

Conservatives don't do shit for anybody but the wealthiest Americans. I lived in the rural south for a couple years and watched as the poor and unemployed consistently voted against their own best interest in the name of their religion and their hatred for non-Whites and/or immigrants.

I would like to point out that the stimulus that Obama insisted on right before Bush was out of office that sent so many mdillions of dollars to the bank obviously didn't help at all.

"Being a conservative female" --- hmm, I wonder how you can support male GOP politicians who will stop at nothing to humiliate women. Bringing up "Monica" is just another step in GOP misogyny. Doesn't that bother you even a little? Do you really think that the conservatives in this country have done any good by maintaining their temper tantrum status ever since President Obama took office in January 2009. How can you find the refusal of House conservatives in February 2014 to pass any legislation for the rest of the year helpful in getting you and your family "back on [your] collective feet"? Doesn't it bother you that GOP congress members have refused to bring job legislation to the floor since the 2010 election troubling? I don't think you care about issues, I think you care about the GOP conservative agenda. That's not thinking, that's supporting the very few (think 1%) and rejecting everyone else (think 99%).

I could not agree more, especially about Monica. The thing that got Bill Clinton impeached was that he lied under oath. The affair itself was between two consenting adults and should be none of anyone else's business, whatever one might think of its "morality".

I use to be rigid about "one and only" "two become one" "monogamous" relationships. But, I have been more relaxed and accepting about my opinion. - In some cultures, legal marriage is arranged and not based on romantic love. - Husbands and wives may have a lifelong lover "on the side". And everyone knows each other, and it is okay. - Yea, weird concept for most of us brought up with "holy matrimony" - but look at Prince Charles and Princess Di, and Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. - I have heard of non-celebrity relationships where the husband and wife's boyfriend are friends. - I know it is a concept hard to imagine. Maybe, it works for some people. - The Clinton affair was definitely intrusive to the Clintons. The way Hillary handled it made me respect, admire her more. - I didn't like the way the feminists wanted her to dump her husband either.

There is no "the feminists," of course. Many feminists understand that two adults can choose the form of their own relationship and if it's mutual agreed upon and beneficial whose to say it's wrong?

Monogamy works for my husband and me (together 20 years and plan to stay that way until we die), but not for everyone.

I agree that Hillary handled the public exposure of Bill's affair extremely well and didn't let it slow her down one iota.

  8. What makes us think that racists aren't also sexist, and homophobic. When one kind of person doesn't suit a racists vision of what all people should be, racism won't be your only -ism or phobia...

We are getting a scary preview of what will happen to ANY woman running as a Democratic candidate, with the way Wendy Davis is being attacked in Texas.

As long as there ARE "conservative voting women" dimwitted enough to vote against their own interests, those who feel they can get away with demeaning women running for office, will succeed.

THE VERY MINUTE that is no longer the case, will turn the tide. Not only are there more women than men in America, but they are willing to stand in line to vote, more often, and for a longer time.

Wendy Davis misrepresented herself, then changed position on issues more times than I can count without taking off my shoes! THAT'S why she was attacked. It has nothing to do with gender.

Also, she stated she was part of Progress Texas, until they started bashing her opponent, and don't forget the group that openly commits voter fraud, supports Wendy, yet not a peep from Wendy to condemn this. She's a flip flop, and won't get far.

Just how old is that picture of Hillary? Reminds me of looking at Canadian coins made in the 1960s. Can't you get an updated photo?

It amazes me to see how Americans vote against their own best interests.

I will vote for Hillary Clinton should she run. She is probably going to be the ONLY woman who will be able to handle the bullshit the Republicans will throw at her. She has so much to her credit - education, political experience, a long-term marriage not w/o problems that she's handled so well - fast on her feet - good in debates, etc.

The Republican party does not have one candidate that can win against her and they know it!
