Latest Congressional Budget Office projections say that cost of Obamacare will be over 100 billion less than previously predicted.

Courtesy of TPM:

In its latest projections for Obamacare, the Congressional Budget Office has lowered the law's costs over the next 10 years by more than $100 billion.

Most of the change can be linked to lower spending on tax subsidies for coverage purchased on HealthCare.gov and its state counterparts, which can in turn be linked to lower-than-expected premiums.

CBO projected that the federal government would spend $164 billion less than previously expected on Obamacare subsidies by 2024. It appears that a number of factors contributed to that change. Premiums, especially in the near term, are expected to be lower than previously projected: The office estimated premiums would rise on average by about $100 in 2015. They are still expected to rise over the next decade, but at a lower rate than previously thought.

It's a combination of rising medical costs, a healthier enrollment population in 2015 and the make-up of the Obamacare plans, which have narrower provider networks and lower provider payments than their counterparts in the large-group market, that contribute to the CBO's calculations on premiums. Other changes, such as a smaller under-65 population, also factored into the revisions.

More good news for the Affordable Care Act.

News by the way that can be used to help defuse the Republican attacks against Democrats in the 2014 election cycle.

  1. Apparently it took the polyester addled-mind of King Kombover to reveal recently that, in addition to the president not being born in America, Obama's not terribly good at counting, either. Trump 'figured out' that there were never any 7.5 million Obamacare signups, but thru typical bureaucratic bumbling there were only 7.5 individual signups in total. SEVEN AND A HALF! No wonder the estimates of costs have declined. NOBODY SIGNED UP!!!

Since it will still cost $1 trillion to provide healthcare to those 7.5 social parasites, Trump's ingenious plan is to have large angry mobs of severe conservative tea party patriots (and sympathetic mental defectives, also too) hunt these Obamacare subscribers down and tear them limb from limb until not even dental records can identify their remains.

How's that hopey changey thing working for you NOW, libtards?

But seriously, that man hasn't been right about anything since his 3rd bankruptcy and 5th divorce. (Or was it his 5th bankruptcy and 3rd divorce?)

And now Trump wants to purchase a major team. (football, I think!) Can he actually really afford to do so? I'd be absolutely horrified if he owned anything I was affiliated with!!!

    Gee...

maybe if we tell the Republicans that by doing so they can make that number worse for the President they'll expand Medicaid and cover another 8 million people.

So, let me see if i understand. When the #ACA rolled out, Obama was black, now that it's successful, he's white?

The Right's New Scam: Feigning Anger on Behalf of People They Encouraged to Skip Obamacare

...No, now that enrollment is closed, they're clamoring to flood the existing insurance markets with high-cost beneficiaries and send premiums skyward. Failing that, they want the people who didn't enroll—including those who didn't enroll on the advice of ACA opponents—to be angry at Obamacare for leaving them out in the cold. In a more sane country, everyone would be pulling in the same direction, so that the end of open-enrollment didn't leave as many people stuck with nothing for months on end. But we don't live in a country like that. We're stuck with a system in which one of the two major political movements spends the months before open enrollment trying to discourage as many people from signing up as possible, and the months after complaining that all these people don't have access to insurance.

Medicare's so-called cost growth factor, calculated in February at minus 1.9 percent, is now calculated at minus 3.4 percent.

Every once in awhile I reread the following text. The absurdity of parents these days is laughable. They plan every second of their kids' lives and create their fun. KIDS create their own fun.

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE
    1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!

First, we survived being born to mothers
Who smoked and/or drank while they were
    Pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing,
Tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs
covered with bright colored lead-base paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles,
Locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode
Our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads. (and rode down huge hills)

    As infants & children,
We would ride in cars with no car seats,
No booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no
    brakes.

Riding in the back of a pick-up truck on a warm day
    Was always a special treat.

    We drank water
From the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends,
From one bottle and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon.
We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar.
    And, we weren't overweight.
    WHY?

    Because we were
    Always outside playing...that's why!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day,
As long as we were back when the
    Streetlights came on.

    No one was able
To reach us all day. And, we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps
And then ride them down the hill, only to find out
We forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes
a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's and X-boxes.
There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable,
No video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's,
No cell phones, No personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms. WE HAD
    FRIENDS
And we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth
And there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt,
And the worms did not live in us
    Forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
Made up games with sticks and tennis balls and,
Although we were told it would happen,
We did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and
Knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just
Walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team.
Those who didn't had to learn to deal
    With disappointment.
    Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law
    Was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best
Risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever.

    The past 50 years
Have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility,
and we learned how to deal with it all.

If YOU are one of them?
    CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others
who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the
lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives
    for our own good.

While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know
how brave and lucky their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house
    with scissors, doesn't it ?

The Dems running against the nasty Republicans can assuredly use the ACA against them! The Republicans who fought it every step of the way and could care less about the Americans they serve in Congress, as governors of states, etc.

Americans have health insurance - can receive medical care now. Americans - vote Republicans out of office - especially in the U.S. Congress and as governors.

They are anti women as well.

Pay attention and mark your ballots with deep thought and research for those candidates in your cities and states. It's so important!

Current Republicans are not supporting America - they have done nothing but run the nation into financial trouble - are and have always been anti women, etc. Plus, many of them want the U.S. in wars again - middle east - i.e. John McCain - that is his mantra! He is up for reelection! Time to put him to pasture once and for all!

Why doesn't Sarah Palin campaign against FREE NATIVE HEALTHCARE and Medicare that her Family members take advantage of? Oops, she can't touch that. It is o.k. if you are a Heath/Palin. How many Palin babies are paid for by Native Healthcare? The Professional Grifter is o.k. with her daughters getting pregnant multiple times and using the Free Government Services.

Great News, and it keeps getting better. We need the Democrats in Repub held states to use this information and stay up to date on all the benefits of the ACA.
