Young woman films her own abortion in order to placate women's fears of the procedure.

Courtesy of the Emily's You Tube page:

This is my story. This is ONLY my story. I do not pretend that it is anything more or anything less. I do not speak for everyone on this sensitive subject and I respect everyone's opinions as long as they do not force them onto others.

My dearest hope is that someone somewhere will see this and it will provide some guidance, strength, support, or whatever else they need in that moment. I want to tell that person that you are not alone. Having an abortion does not make you a bad person, a bad woman, a bad mother. Having an abortion does not make you guilty. It is simply one step in your reproductive story. You are not alone. I am here for you. We are all here for you.

As you can imagine there has been quite a backlash against Emily for posting this video. You can read more about that over at HuffPo.

Remember nobody is pro abortion, but neither should they feel justified in telling any woman what to do with their bodies. This is an incredibly personal decision, and the fact that this young woman was courageous enough to share it with the world is admirable. Especially considering the hate and vitriol she is about to receive.

A very courageous woman, whose safety may now be at risk from those who profess to be "pro-life" but can not disagree without violence. The ultimate paradox.

    Thank you for posting, gryphen.

  2. I’m pro-choice, and what Emily did makes it clear this is a simple surgical procedure, not a lightning-from-the-sky sin.

I’m a little uncomfortable; however, that she may have coolly planned the pregnancy and abortion with an unwitting partner. I’d like men to weigh in on this.

I doubt very much she planned on getting pregnant just to have an abortion. And I'm a little uncomfortable with your need to question her motives and backstory. What matters is that she needed to terminate a pregnancy and she was able to do so safely and legally.

I had a foolish relationship with a much older man when I was in college and had an abortion at the campus medical center. The only painful part was when I went back the next week to pay for the procedure. I stood in a very long line out in public, at one of those glass payment windows with a little hole to speak into. The woman behind the glass asked what the procedure was (this was before the days of patient privacy) and I said through the hole "an abortion" and she asked again and I said it again a little louder. She couldn't hear me, or maybe wanted to embarrass me, but at last I had to shout "an abortion" at the glass window. Everybody stopped and stared at me.

I give this young woman a lot of credit. But I couldn't watch the video.

Wish you could have written it down and slid it in her face. 3 out of 10 people in that room most likely were there for the same reason.

  4. Not true that no-one is "pro abortion". It is a medical procedure that at times is needed, necessary and/or suitable based on the situation. In many cases I am pro abortion. In truth, I am pro abortion for anyone who wants/needs an abortion.

I am against "coat hanger" abortions by unqualified people, usually brought about through lack of access to a legal medical procedure.

I am so sick of having to deny reality because of those who treat women as criminals whenever they have a reason to terminate a pregnancy.

I am actually against root canals. No seriously. Quit laughing! There are some studies done that some bacteria stays in the canal, cut off from a blood supply that could kill it, and it festers, and causes shag-nasties later. I have had dome, and totally prefer to just pull it.

Nobody is pro-abortion like no one is pro-appendectomy. I wouldn't intentionally plan to have one, but should my appendix become infected - I'm damn glad there are trained docs who know how to remove it in a safe sterile environment.

Nancy French has posted this information on Bristol's blog and facebook. There are many reasons why women have abortions. There can be a severe health risk to the mother. She may be carrying a fetus that is not viable. She may live in a place where she will be treated like a leper if she has a child out of wedlock. (Everyone does not have a mother like Sarah Palin). Each woman should be free to make her own choice, consulting her partner, her family, religious leader and doctor. And, she does not need any pressure from Bristol Palin and Nancy French.

I'm glad Gryphen didn't mention the forgiven Bristol Palin-Palin and her sidekick Nancy French for their judgmental, harsh, cruel attack on this young woman. Guess their "Jesus" only "forgives" the sexually overactive gals who end up single mothers and never worked a day in her life.

I, too, am pro-abortion as a option for women and it's cruel and absurd that the ability to get one that is medically safe is being legislated away. And why? For what? Not so we can support all the additional children this might bring into the world, as funding for everything is being CUT, CUT, CUT. It is the Handmaid's Tale, pure and simple, trying to take women back to the Middle Ages. Guess what? We won't go. Get ready, GOP. You're about to find out! Especially as so many of you are hypocrites, and have had abortions yourselves! One example of that is recounted at the very end of this OpEd: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/25/opinion/sunday/bruni-a-catholic-classmate-rethinks-his-religion.html

U.S. Women Saved $483 Million On Their Birth Control Pills Last Year

Women in the United States saved an estimated $483 million on their out-of-pocket costs for the birth control pill, according to new data from the IMS Institute on Healthcare Informatics. The health care data company found that Obamacare has “dramatically reduced” women’s out-of-pocket costs now that insurers are required to cover preventative care without charging an additional co-pay. Compared to the data from 2012, about 24 million more birth control pill prescriptions were filled without a co-pay in 2013. That means each of the women filling those prescriptions ended up saving an average of $269. Those savings can make all the difference for women who are struggling to afford the reproductive care they need.

According to the IMS Institute’s data, there was 4.6 percent increase in prescriptions for birth control between 2012 and 2013. One of the most common misconceptions about Obamacare’s contraceptive provision is the assumption that women are now getting birth control “for free.” In reality, however, these women are accessing birth control through their private, employer-sponsored health insurance plans. Women do pay for the benefits included in those plans, both by working at their job and by paying a monthly premium. Under Obamacare, the difference is that they don’t have to pay an additional out-of-pocket cost for the preventative health benefits specific to their gender.

Party of moral failures: Why Obamacare foes are about to pay a price

With Obamacare's benefits becoming tangible, opposing it on ideological grounds will create a new set of problems

...The simple explanation behind this is that people really, really like having access to healthcare. They see the unquestioned moral value in it. And while Obamacare opponents might think they’re riding high with their anti-big government sermonizing, it seems inevitable that the need to be insured will outweigh the desire to stick it to the socialists.

Obamacare will be vindicated by history: From JFK to FDR, here’s how the nation’s memory works

...While seemingly difficult to imagine, decades from now history will note that the Affordable Care Act symbolized one of the great presidential efforts to fight inequality in America. Long forgotten will be today’s headlines of a temperamental website, deadline delays and mixed messages about keeping existing plans. Instead, it will be heralded that Barack Obama made a superior healthcare service available to the masses.

We should not be judging others for their decisions as we do not walk in their shoes.

And, Republicans across the nation (especially in the U.S. Congress) should be voted out of office due to their being anti women's rights, anti abortion, racists, against the poor and middle class, for obstructing voting rights and the constant blocking and obstruction of President Obama throughout his terms! They could care less about the American people.

They raise their own income and block food stamps for the poor. They do NOT represent the majority across the nation and do not listen to them/us! Screw them! Vote them OUT!

Chickens are roosting in Texas, where another male Republican lawmaker has said something really stupid and totally inaccurate about women’s health.

Incumbent Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst and Texas State Senator Dan Patrick squared off at WFAA’s studios Wednesday night in the Republican runoff for lieutenant governor. When when asked about women’s healthcare, Dan Patrick — the senator who wants to be lieutenant governor – said, “Look this is a myth that Planned Parenthood has anything to do with women’s health.”

What does 'no one is pro-abortion' mean?
I see it frequently and it always makes me cringe. It sounds defensive and apologetic and conveys shame, the idea that abortion is bad but 'go ahead and do that bad thing if you want.'
'No one is pro-abortion' opens the door for laws limiting access to abortion services.

Imagine if proponents of gay rights regularly used the phrase, 'no one is pro-gay.'
[far from a perfect analogy but it's the only one I can think of now. I hope it makes sense.]

What a revelation for me to see this video. Almost 60 years ago when I was a young RN my exposure to abortion situations consisted of scrambling, begging, demanding help for the very sick, some near death, women who had submitted to criminal abortions out of desperation.

No doctor wanted to come to the hospital to care for them for fear of being implicated, and I was not allowed to assign the woman to a hospital room until they had a doctor. Often they laid in the hallway on a gurney while I begged a physician, any physician to come in and care for them.

If males got pregnant there would be no issue and collecting child support would be a breeze. Even in the 80's my ex-husband, always with a professional job, did not pay child support, got all the property (the judge thought women were second rate citizens so assets belonged to the males) all this after I raised his two older children by his previous marriage.

No man should have a right to govern a woman's reproductive choices - it is she that will be responsible for the outcomes - always!!!!!

I am pro-choice and, if that means pro-abortion when that is the best option available for the mother, then I'm pro-abortion. But in the realm inhabited by the "pro-life" crowd, "pro-abortion" means that you want to encourage all women to have abortions all of the time, not to accept that it is sometimes a necessary procedure. I don't think that any woman is ever "happy" to have an abortion and I don't think the smile on "Emily's" face does much service to the pro-choice cause.

She's smiling because she has the choice to NOT have to give birth to a baby that she doesn't want. Don't judge her because she's happy with the CHOICE that she is making. Women have the right in this country to have as many abortions as they choose to. It can be used as a single form of birth control if a woman chooses that option. There are already too many people in this world, what we don't need is more mouths to feed as we are killing this planet trying to create enough food for the 7 billion of us already here, and we are failing, failing the starving and failing the planet and its delicate ecosystems. Emily should be smiling because she's not contributing to the problem, the human virus rum amok.

Good news for the Adrenaline Junkie. Brancy can stop praising Floyd Mayweather Jr. or dissing Emily and get back to pumping up Bristol's crippled tool. Finally he can look acceptable for the Palin photo ops instead of some sad douche that has to be propped up on a snowmachine. .

Junkie lost the Bristol Palin's Blog support after his idiotic speed demon slam into immovable building. Poor guy couldn't work his fun job. Now he can go back full force to selling Skid-ooz and snow products and Brancy can do something other than double downs on abortion screed.

I'm pro choice. If someone doesn't want an abortion, don't have one BUT keep your nose out of other women whose choice differs from yours. This brave lady realized and said that she couldn't afford to raise a child at this time, she got pregnant while using contraceptives (Some, by the way, stop working when a woman is given steroids and other medication). It's her body, and her decision to make.
My husband bounced from foster home to foster home until he "aged out". The majority of people who adopt look for infants, preferably cute and pink colored. So Adoption isn't always sunshine and happily ever after. Some foster for the money with little or no concern for the child's best interest. If I were young and in this girl's situation, I'd want a safe, sanitary place to get the care that I need. If I gave up a child, I'd be haunted thinking they were being abused, unloved, or adopted out to some rwnj.

Harvey Milk Stamped "Out" Forever !

The Obama Cabal is behind universal GAYety with a "forever" postage stamp glorifying Harvey Milk, a Jewish homosexual predator "attracted to boys aged 15-19," according to WikiAnswers! (Also see Wikipedia.)
Global gaydom was even predicted by Jesus (see "days of Lot" in Luke 17 and compare with Genesis 19).
And the Hebrew prophet Zechariah (14th chapter) says that during the same end-time gay "days" ALL nations will come against Israel and fulfill the "days of Noah" at the same time (see Luke 17 again) - a short time of anti-Jewish genocide found in Zechariah 13:8 when two-thirds of all Jews will die.
In other words, when "gay days" have become universal, all hell will break loose!
Shockingly, the same "days" will trigger the "end of days" - and when they begin, worldwide human government will quickly wind down in just a few short years! For the first time in history there won't be enough time for anyone to even attend college, let alone have a family, save money, enjoy retirement, etc.
One final thought. The more we see gays "coming out," the sooner Jesus will be "coming down"!
For more, Google or Yahoo "God to Same-Sexers: Hurry Up," "Jesus Never Mentioned Homosexuality. When gays have birthdays...," "FOR GAYS ONLY: Jesus Predicted...," "USA - from Puritans to Impure-itans!" and "The Background Obama Can't Cover Up."
