Another sign of the demise of the Tea Party is the fact that Teabagger Pennsylvania Governor is trailing Democratic challenger by 20 points.

Courtesy of Rasmussen Reports:

Republican Governor Tom Corbett trails his Democratic challenger Tom Wolf by 20 points in Rasmussen Reports’ first look at the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race.

A new statewide telephone survey of Likely Pennsylvania Voters shows Wolf with 51% of the vote to Corbett’s 31%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate in the race, but 14% are still undecided at this point.

It is somewhat unusual for  a sitting Governor to trail his challenger by this much, unless he is embroiled in a scandal or two. But in this case it seems that he was simply ineffective at his job, and the Tea Party label that he once wore with such pride is now a black mark against him.

Of course the Penn State scandal certainly did him no favors either.

I am interested in how far into this election cycle the Republican candidates are willing to go while still associating with the baggers, and how soon they will kick them to the curb once they get past their primaries.

I would love to believe that people are wising up to the utter bullshit they've been fed by the far right.

John Oliver does an HBO program in which he sums up the week's news, with an attempt to make it humorous. He reported on how insane Europe is getting, as well as Australia, having elected people who make Ted Cruz look like Che Guevara.

I chuckled a LITTLE over how he turned a phrase here and there, but was left with an overall sense of horror...thinking that the whole WORLD was being overrun by a populace of absolute SIMPLETONS, easily swayed by leaders who use fear and hatred to rile them up.

I mean, its bad enough that in America, we have around HALF of the people, frothing at the mouth with hatred of "Obamacare," thanks to the tsunami of lies and propaganda perpetrated by the insurance companies and other far right maniacs.

If we remind one of them, that it was originally a 'conservative' idea and plan, but was kiboshed the minute Obama and the Democrats supported it, they'll call you a liar...and refuse to do even the three minutes of research it takes to find that out.

I suppose I shouldn't let the comments I see on sites like Facebook make me assume that MOST people have been hopelessly brainwashed...because it certainly seems that way.

While I hope that all of the teabagging governors lose in November (including our clandestine one in Michigan), I want to see Democrats elected in the US House and Senate, so that we can have sane majorities securely in those houses for the next two years. Please vote in November, everyone, and contribute to and work for your liberal candidates! We cannot afford to let the Senate go to the GOP (aka Tea Party). Imagine Mitch McConnell or worse (is there any such thing?) as Majority Leader of the Senate. It's my worst nightmare.

I had a nightmare. What if she runs for POTUS just for exposure and upping her future speaking fees; Herman Cain, Huckabee and Gingrich only run for that reason. She just might, especially if she knows she won't win-- she wouldn't really want to win, that is real work.

Help me, I'm feeling sick at the thought she could be on our TVs day and night for months and months....... ack!

    1. She'll never campaign again.

It would leave her vulnerable to exposure of certain discrepancies she wants to stay hidden.

She may stump for others but she will never run for office again.

      Thank god.

This is MY Governor, Pennsylvania always gets them first. We had Santorum and now this guy. He's bff's with Sandusky and was bffs with Paterno. During his tenure, there was a fuel tanker spill that caused evacuations and environmental damage. Not blaming it on him, could have happened under anyone's watch, but he refused to expand medicare, tried to fight stimulus money from the government (the bridge the oil tanker fell off of was one line item he slashed). And like every other teabagger, he alienated the poor and people of color by going the charter school route, closing public schools, etc etc etc.
During his non campaign ads that flooded the airwaves, the main point was he slashed the budget and his daughter adopted a child of color and he and his wife were now grandparents. His name is Liam. Who's running? Tom Corbett or his grandchild?
I met Wolf a while back and he spoke about the issues clearly in bullet point fashion and explained what he would do and why. He at least tried to speak to ALL people of all parties. He took questions, listened actively, and addressed the main issues the person asked about. I like that in a politician, even if I don't agree with everything they stand for. And it looks like it's paying off.
