CNN reporter sends reasonable and appropriate tweet criticizing Fox Nation.

I personally see nothing wrong with this.

It seems informative,  on point, and appropriately irritated at the fucksticks over at Fox Nation.

However it seems that Weir's corporate overlords made him walk it back like a pansy ass.

Courtesy of Politico:

On Thursday, Weir apologized, tweeting: "The glop of Midwestern guilt stuck in my chest prob won't go away until I apologize to @foxnation for name-calling. Dumb move. My bad."

No, not "my bad." It was "your good" to tell those idiots that they do not understand the difference between the weather and climate.

It is your job as a journalist to educate these fucksticks. Do not retreat from your responsibility simply for fear of being criticized for it.

After all that never seems to stop Fox from telling obvious, and bold faced lies to their viewers every single damn day!

The Word of the Day: Fucksticks. It's more inclusive than M---ffers, Add Ignorant and it says it all. And, Sally Heath and her pals have a new word for Scrabble.

Maybe if he had called them "FoxSticks" he may not have had to apologize. Why? He used that inadmissible four-letter-word that supercedes all reason.

Oh how I wish it were true! They should have let MTP die a natural death instead of picking David Gregory. Tim Russert left a huge void to fill, and David's not even an appetizer.

in my humble opinion, his term was rude, and he represented himself, not his target, when he used it. now it will be harder for him to be considered "serious". what would walter cronkite say?

Well, 'fucksticks' is a rather harsh term, especially when the guy is using his professional identity, and I can see why CNN wanted him to apologize. I bet that he would have been taken to task by CNN even if he'd published this without his prof affiliation noted. That being said, he's absolutely right.

How do we know CNN made him do it? Maybe it is just what he said, "midwestern guilt."

    2. Yay. Sally has a new word for the day. I don't care how many goddam Scrabble points it's worth. I just want the Fucksticks to know what they are!

Just to prove I have a decent vocabulary base in my smartphone, "Fucksticks" was already in there. Way to tell it like it is, Bill Weir.Yeah, yeah, yeah, the corp bosses gotta rap your knuckles, but big fuckin deal. You said what they need to hear, too... some truth.

Fucksticks: those low-intellect idiots who are incessantly willfully ignorant as fuck. Includes baggers, peebots, and Heath-Palins.

S.E. Cupp’s Atheism Rant Is From Another Planet

Conservative S.E. Cupp of CNN makes for one terrible atheist. In 2009, she gave an interview on C-SPAN that would befuddle the finest team of doctors the field of psychoanalysis could offer. During one exchange, she claimed she’d never want an atheist president because such a person wouldn’t believe in a higher power — the very kind she doesn’t think exists in the first place. And if you think that can’t possibly be her position, see for yourself (15:20-17:00).

Now she’s back at it. The atheist who wrote a book called Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media’s Attack On Christianity, stars in this short clip where virtually every single thing she says is just demonstrably false. Not arguably false. But false, as in fact-not-opinion false, up to and including her claim that conservatives welcome atheists.

KKK Calls For ‘Shoot To Kill’ Policy On Undocumented Child Immigrants (Video)

One of the KKK’s Imperial Wizards (he sure plays a mean pinball) told reporter Robert Ray that the people coming to the border are “criminals” and will “continue breaking the law” when they come into the country, not to mention bringing third world diseases. His conclusion:

“If we can’t turn ‘em back, I think if we pop a couple of ‘em off and leave the corpses laying on the border, maybe they’ll see that we’re serious about stopping immigration.”

There you have it. The KKK endorsing the extra-judicial killing of children.

Those are idiots who sound like Donald Trump talking about his "billions" of dollars. Goofy twosome of dumbfucks, one a stupid redneck, the other a mute redneck.

I hope the Al Jazeera reporter wrote down their license plate # and gave it to the popo. They're so stupid, they make the klan look like Don Johnson's klavern in Django.

I suppose calling Fox climagte deniers fucksticks is better than calling them Koch suckers. Though the reality is that calling them either points fingers at the puppets pulling the talking heads strings from above ... conservative fucksticks or Koch suckers.

Sarah could say on FOX that the Pres. had a limp fiddlestick, was an impotent leader and didn't have the cajones to go balls to the wall with Pootie of the hairless chest, Not even a bleep let alone a media filter from the boys at FOX. Did they ever get their fucksticks in a splinter? No. They stood up to her rudeness and crudeness as well as a porch post with a bad case of wood rot.

they didn't say climate was weather
    but actually climate IS weather

    ReplyDelete

    1. No. Climate is not weather. Period. Weather is what is happening right now at a specific time and place. You can predict what the weather will be for only a short time ahead. Weather is measured in minutes, hours, days, or at most, weeks.

Climate is the statistical accumulation over years of weather data. Weather is what you get. Climate is what you can reasonably expect in the future.

A rainstorm today has nothing to do with the climate in a particular area. Today might be rainy, but it may only rain once a year in that geographical location so you would not describe the climate as rainy.

Also, the people who point to snowy or cold temperatures as proof that the global temperature isn't warming forget that for half of the globe, it is summer at that time.

The way I see it, apology or not, Mr Weir got his point across AND came across as a "better person" for his "apology". "Fucksticks" is actually a complement considering the idiocy Fox News showcases.
