Courtesy of HuffPo:
On Monday, the independent expenditure arm of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released its first ad against Iowa Republican Senate nominee Joni Ernst. (The DSCC itself has already put out an anti-Ernst issue ad.) And the ad is hardly subtle in its efforts to tie her to Palin.
“We have faith in Joni…She is the right one,” Palin says at the start of the ad, in footage taken from the press conference she held to announce her endorsement of Ernst during the Republican primary.
“I was just absolutely ecstatic to have her endorsement," Ernst says after. "Those are the types of people we need in our federal government."
A DSCC official told The Huffington Post that the Ernst ad will be “part of a multi-million dollar buy statewide,” and is the first in a series of ads that will run from now until Election Day.
As I mentioned yesterday, Ernst is making some smart political moves, but the Democrats are right in thinking that her association with Palin may be her Achilles heel.
Sarah Palin, helping to make Tea Party candidates unelectable since 2010.
I wonder (and kind of hope) if PayMe will sue for 'trademark infringement, since $he as well as mini-$he have trademarked their names (even though the part came from an obviously public statement)
ReplyDeleteThe Palin Curse lives!
DeleteNothing will bring Democratic voters to the polls in greater numbers than an endorsement from Sarah Palin.
ReplyDeleteAre there ANY Democrats in Iowa?
DeleteThen Senator Obama won Iowa in the primaries!
DeleteI think if you're going to scream copyright you have to be able to prove some legal injury. Since no one is making money from the ad there is no injury. Palin is not libeled in the ad, it's only her own words being used against her. There's nothing Sarah Palin or any of the law firms she employs can do about it.
ReplyDeletePoor Sarah, you're such a victim my heart is breaking for you, waaaahhhh....
I wish the ad included Palin's Paul Revere clip, Putin-rearing-his-head or some other word salad nonsense to dramatize Ernst's poor judgement.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it have been great if the ad had also include a photo of Ol' Thrust Chesticle Out Palin in NYC?
DeleteThat is a great ad. How long will it take before Joni throws Sarah right under the bus.
ReplyDeleteBwahaha!!
ReplyDeleteI have a sister and nephew in Iowa not of their own choosing. Their take on Ernst is "what a MAROON" but also said, "you don't know the people here. They vote for crap like this all the time."
ReplyDeleteIowa was one of the first states in the nation to allow Gay marriage. It propelled Senator Barack Obama on his way.Iowa was for many years the number 1 state in education and it is still in the top 10. Unfortunately it does have it's fair share of morons.
DeleteOne wonders how many potential endorsees have said thanks but no thanks when the Quitter Queen shows up on their doorstep offering an endorsement. Maybe one of several reasons for the spectacular meltdown we're seeing?

Should have made them both cartoons, juggling pig testicles, but it's effective enough as is. Bet poor Joni never saw this coming LOL!
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin IS a useful tool for something afterall! She can't sue, because it quotes her verbatim, and they used a pretty picture of her.
This is going to make heads explode and give much needed comic relief to Democrats everywhere. Can't wait for MSNBC and the late night comedians to rip her to shreds.

ReplyDeleteSarah Palin is not only making candidates unelectable, I think Sarah is making Bristol unmarriagable. Who in hell would want to marry Bristol and have that old bat telling Bristol want to do in the bed, how to raise your children, how to carve your turkey upside down, etc.
We've seen the Palin saga play out along with the Heath branch in full parade. I've noticed tho that not too many of Todd's family are in the mix. Sort of feel sorry for them because it's their family name that has developed a rather toxic reputation due to her antics. I admire them for staying out of it whether they agree with her beliefs and politics or not while watching the Heath clan cashing in for the fast bucks.
DeleteI don't feel sorry for TAWD'S family at all. "That's our boy!" They know who he is.
DeleteIf any Republican or Teabaggers are unelectable because they accepted Sarah Palin's endorsement shouldn't cry when they lose. How many times have those stupid sons of bitches been warned by the Immoral Minority community about the Sarah Palin Curse?
ReplyDeleteThat's why she went to her own channel and media laughs even harder because it's shared on YT for all to see.
DeleteIf Ernst is such a tough fucking pig farmer then you tell me how the hell such a tough bitch was sexually harassed?
ReplyDeleteSome poor ol gay soldier hit on her by mistake not realizing she was a female.
DeleteLOL!!! Good One!
DeleteAnd that Giver Movie that Sarah, Bristol and Nancy were promoting didn't do that well either.
ReplyDeleteI just wonder what happened to RAM. $arah now speaking for herself, and some of the funniest moments here on IM were when comments mistook GinaM for the ugliest woman EVER to be saying such things. I thought I would die laughing! Rock on, $arah, you know you're toast and so do we.
