Courtesy of Rasmussen Reports:
Alaska is critical to Republican hopes of taking control of the Senate, and, coming off last week’s state GOP primary, the Alaska Senate race is a near tie.
A new Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Alaska Voters shows Republican Dan Sullivan with a 47% to 45% lead over incumbent Democratic Senator Mark Begich. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate in the race, and four percent (4%) are undecided.
The Republicans are really pulling out the stops in order to get Mark's Senate seat, and the only thing that can stop them is us.
We progressive Alaskans have to turn out in huge numbers this November and keep the Koch brothers and GOP machine from making our first Democratic Senator in decades a one term wonder.
Just shows may Alaskans never learned after Sarah Palin.
ReplyDeleteThe one time when the Alaska prejudice against those from "Outside" should come into play......
ReplyDeleteOhio Dan only got where he is because of Outside money. Begich has the money, if local Democrats can get the turnout.
ReplyDeleteSo what are you waiting for, Gryphen?
Uhh, for election day?
DeleteSo all you're going to do is vote for him, Gryphen? That's all? You expect that just turning up on election day will get him elected over the efforts of the national GOP with their million$ and their lack of ethics?
DeleteYou think the Republicans are sitting on their asses?
And how could you forget 2008, and how Begich got the seat and how close the results were?
.......The self-styled defender of family values is a female Bill Clinton: Someone who sleeps around. While dating future husbandTodd Palin, the then-Sarah Heath, a sports reporter for an Alaska TV station, reportedly shacked up for a night in a dorm room with a college basketball star in what those close to her say was just one of a string of casual flings by a sexually-adventurous woman.
ReplyDeleteIn college, Palin was known as a wild child who attended five schools in six years. A favorite photo of her from her college days showed a young woman on a bed in a college dorm room wearing a t-shirt that said: “I may be flat broke but I’m not flat busted.”
After marriage, she also reportedly embarked on a six-month affair with Palin’s partner in a snowmobile business and news of his wife’s amorous activities led an angry husband to dissolve the partnership.
Some close to Palin claim that while the one-time vice presidential candidate who became a political joke likes to spend time in bed with a variety of men, those who now sample her favors do not include husband Todd. The Palins, they say, have slept in separate bedrooms for years now.......

How did the idiot Palin get brought into this discussion?
DeleteWe are talking about Ohio Sullivan and Mark Begich. They are far, far more important due to the upcoming election.
What is the best way to get the word out in AK? I see a few comments here and a couple at Mudflats. Is concentrating on Anchorage the way to go? I live in WA and the Seattle area usually decides the vote. I would HATE to see Dan Begich lose that democratic seat.
ReplyDeleteThis is a Rasmussen Poll so you may want to figure in
ReplyDelete"the republicans wish" factor that seems to be weaved into their polls of the past few years. It is still a good thing to do what we can to get the Senator re-elected
Not only that but their polling of "likely voters" probably is limited to "civilization" despite the fact that outlying coastal villages and towns north of the Arctic Circle also vote.
DeleteAnd do any folks in those towns and villages really think a Republican Outsider is likely to represent them? Heck, Lisa Murkowski barely does...
This Rasmussen poll smacks of the kind of polls Karl Rove and Mitt Romney were depending on before the 2012 election.
Sullivan, the carpetbagger, would be the very worst representative Alaska could elect. The guy literally makes me want to puke! Watched is campaign ad today of shooting out the TV screen and thought it asinine! Plus, he has the Koch brothers supporting him and you know those brothers didn't do Alaska any favor up north!
ReplyDeleteMark Begich has represented us for years (Assembly, Mayor of Anchorage, the U.S.Congress) and is the TRUE Alaskan for his continuation in the job!
Vote folks, but don't vote Republican in November! Alaska needs to turn blue!
Don't pay attention to polls! Most of them are usually wrong when the final results come out!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that might save Begich is the pot smokers coming out to vote for their prop. Otherwise I don't think Begich has a chance. I'm a Dem & don't like Begich, I wish he was more like Obama. I saw Sully at the fair working it. Mark better get to work!
ReplyDeleteI hope all smart Alaskans get out and vote AND GOTV with their family, friends, and neighbors to ensure that Senator Begich is re-elected and maybe Dan Sullivan and family will relocate to their primary residence outside of Alaska. This is really up to people voting. If Begich loses, it means that the smart people in Alaska may not be smart enough to vote.
ReplyDeleteGo Begich!
We have gotten survey calls on our land line EVERY stinkin' night for two weeks. After the first couple of questions, the slant is obvious. "Obama's agenda" is a give away.
ReplyDeleteIt has Koch stink all over it.
Does Alaska use Diebold machines?
ReplyDeleteRemember, Begich will have to have a 10% lead to just win.
