This hilarious pro-gay marriage advertisement from Ireland is a must see.

Okay that was bloody brilliant.

Here is a little more about it from the Raw Story.

That was great but I'm far more concerned about reproductive freedom in Ireland than I am about marriage equality there. Marriage equality is important, don't get me wrong, but it's not a potentially life or death issue for women. Reproductive freedom is.

What is the situation you are referring to in Ireland. Abortion? Well that's getting pretty stamped out here in the ol' USA. What's happening in Ireland? The same?

I saw that last night and thought it was very clever. The part about putting the boy in the box had me howling. Such effective mockery of fear and ignorance is an art form, for sure. I'm glad you posted it Gryphen.

Thanks for including this one. It's a mixture of the anti gay/left behind and reparative therapy bs the rwnj's have been yammering about all along. Can't wait for the day when gay marriage is just considered "marriage".
My daughter and her fiancee are planning a wedding and have yet to meet a straight wedding planner worth hiring.

Saying redskins, nigga, nigger, spic, and whatever else is not grounds for firing. These words are in movies, tv, print....

If people can freely use the terms Bitch, whore, mammie , and other words that some women find disrespectful, there is no difference from the "racist" terms.

People need to chill the fuck out.

Is that a fact. Does it make you feel better about yourself? Guess who's the loser here? Not the one you say it to.

There's a big difference when you're in the public eye and you work for a company that relies on more than straight white Anglo males to watch its shows.

Unless you work for a Native American, African American or Latino. Or anyone with an ounce of integrity. Freedom of speech doesn't apply in the private sector. Grow up and watch your fucking mouth.

Be respectful to others. Treat people the way you'd like to be treated. Don't call people names. These are things you should have learned in kindergarten.

  5. Coming from a country of people who over the centuries became Druid- and Protestant-hating Christian/Catholics thanks to St. Patrick, that video is a real surprise.

The "Prtotestant-hating" part of this is a bit backwards in terms of Ireland. The Protestants for centuries forbade the Catholics there the freedom to practice their religion and kept them from being able to speak their native language. That, plus the economics of being an impoverished rural colony supplying the "mother land" with food while keeping little or none for yourselves are the causes of "Protestant hating" among Irish Catholics. Everyone hopes that things have changed for the better now.

Well, I am Irish. I have two sons in their twenties and I can attest to the fact that they don't give a sh*t about whether you are gay or straight.

Recently, I discovered that my oldest son's best friend from the age of 4 has come out. This little guy spent years in my home brandishing Ninja Turtle paraphernalia and being one of the best players on the rugby team. Did I suspect that he was gay - NO. Do I care? No. I wish him the best.

Thankfully my sons regard being gay as nothing much to get your knickers in a twist over - the older generation are coming around too.
