Palin starts off making fun of the computer models the climate scientists use to make predictions concerning global warming, and calls their concerns about our warming planet a "con job.'" Which considering she lives in Alaska is especially egregious.
But don't worry she is no climate science denier (Except of course she is.):
"Look I'm not a denier, I don't doubt that climate change exists. I live in an arctic state as Governor traveling around the coastline, especially up in the arctic you can see changes based on the cyclical pattern of climate and weather, always changing. We can see the effects of changing weather patterns, not only on the coast line, elsewhere on land, but no one has proven that these changes are caused by anything done by human beings, via greenhouse gasses. There’s no convincing scientific evidence for manmade climate change. The climate has always been changing. Climate change is to this century what eugenics was to the last century. It’s hysteria, and a lot of it’s junk science. And when it’s as discredited as eugenics, y’know a lot of people are going to look very foolish and heartless. Why heartless? Because this global warming, climate change hysteria hurts the poorest among us. We hear all the time about how liberals care supposedly more for the poor than conservatives do. But for the sake of climate change? Liberals hold back the poorest parts of the world from the kind of development that we have in America."
Holy crap! Is it even possible to be this disconnected from reality?
She lives in a state where the effects of climate change are negatively impacting its residents every day and entire communities have had to leave villages they established hundreds of years ago in order to keep from being washed out to sea.
But then what can you expect from the woman who did nothing while Alaskan natives nearly froze to death and starved in their homes on her watch?
So yes Sarah Palin is one of the most mockable people on the planet, and that was BEFORE audio was released which demonstrated to the world that she and her family are a bunch of drunken Wasilla-billies.
And thank you Wonkette for reminding us of that fact.
Okay, Sarah, we get it. You're a shill for the oil industry, which throws up the specter of job loss because greenhouse gases caused by fossil fuels are radically changing the world's climate. Here's the dill: more jobs will be created in alternative energy industries.
ReplyDeleteAlso, too, the oil companies and Sarah are suddenly so concerned about the standard of living of Third World countries that they want to make sure those economies keep gobbling up more oil = more oil company profits.
Sarah, it's a sure bet you skipped most of your high school science classes, and it's doubtful you ever enrolled in a college science course of any kind. So please understand when we don't listen to your discourse about "junk science."
You're just a mouthpiece for big oil, which supplied you with your talking points.
Hey, Sarah, why don't you talk about what a great example Nigeria is of a Third World country benefiting from oil extraction? Oh, wait...
DeleteSarah needs to be put on a melting piece of ice in the area of the Arctic and put out to sea - never to be seen or heard from again. Perhaps a polar bear would find her!
ReplyDeleteArctic and put out to sea - never to be seen or heard from again. Perhaps a polar bear would find her!

I wish! To the Polar bear gods hear our plea! Someone should photohop her hangin' off the ice floe instead of the polar bear, heh!
My same thought. I was going to post-would someone please find an ice flow before they all melt and push Sarah out to sea, then we can see how that "junk science" is working for her.
DeleteThis video may be fairly new but the hair is from the era of big hair, and the eyebrows, well, who can say, but -- even though this may seem petty, were they painted with a grease pencil?
ReplyDelete"were they painted with a grease pencil?"
DeleteCould be they're just grease smudges, no pencil involved.

Malia has an article recently posted in which there is a statement by R Limbaugh concerning the "Palin brawl" in which he said it seems Bristol was assaulted and beaten by a bunch of drunken men. Have you seen this? Korey really needs to come out with a statement - irregardless of fears for his job or whatever. He is being made a fool of. The longer this goes on the worse it will get. This needs to stop now.
Pat Padrnos
What makes me even more angry with this bloviating asshole is that he was defending rape a few weeks ago ("Sometimes no means yes; amirite, guys? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge."). If ANY OTHER WOMAN had shown up drunk at a party in a thong dress and later claimed she was sexually assaulted, that hypocritical cretin would have been at the head of the slut-shaming, victim-blaming pack. He needs to be off the air.
DeletePat, no offense but...no one listens to Rushbo! All you have to do is listen to the audio.
DeleteAlthough I hear what you say about Korey, he wimped out and now he's payin' for it.
You are right about Rushbo - my only concern is that other sites will pick up on this as they often do - and then somehow use that as validation for Bristol's version of the truth. I certainly don't listen to him - but his vitriol message still seems to get out there to too many people.
DeleteThank you for your comment.

WHAT SARAH PALIN THOUGHT ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE
ReplyDeleteDear Alaskan, Alaska's climate is warming. While there have been warming and cooling trends before, climatologists tell us that the current rate of warming is unprecedented within the time of human civilization. Many experts predict that Alaska, along with our northern latitude neighbors, will warm at a faster pace than any other areas, and the warming will continue for decades.
We are faced with significant questions: How fast will the climate warm? How warm will it get? What effects will the warming have? Is there anything we can do to slow the increase or the extent of the warming? Realizing that we can’t stop the warming, what can we do to adapt? And, what role should state government play in all of this?
To get the ball rolling, I signed Administrative Order 238 in September 2007, which directs a team of my cabinet members to prepare an Alaska Climate Change Strategy for my consideration. The strategy is to serve as a guide for a thoughtful, practical, timely, state of Alaska response to climate change. It is to identify priorities needing immediate attention along with longer-term steps we can take as a state to best serve all Alaskans and to do our part in the global response to this global phenomenon.

DeleteGryphen,
ReplyDeleteO/T, but I thought you might find this Atlantic article from 7/23/12 interesting if you haven't already seen it:
"A Land Without Guns: How Japan Has Virtually Eliminated Shooting Deaths"
Excerpts:
"In 2008, the U.S. had over 12 thousand firearm-related homicides. All of Japan experienced only 11 ...And that was a big year: 2006 saw an astounding two, and when that number jumped to 22 in 2007, it became a national scandal. By comparison, also in 2008, 587 Americans were killed just by guns that had discharged accidentally."
(snip)
"To get a gun in Japan, first, you have to attend an all-day class and pass a written test, which are held only once per month. You also must take and pass a shooting range class. Then, head over to a hospital for a mental test and drug test (Japan is unusual in that potential gun owners must affirmatively prove their mental fitness), which you'll file with the police. Finally, pass a rigorous background check for any criminal record or association with criminal or extremist groups, and you will be the proud new owner of your shotgun or air rifle. Just don't forget to provide police with documentation on the specific location of the gun in your home, as well as the ammo, both of which must be locked and stored separately. And remember to have the police inspect the gun once per year and to re-take the class and exam every three years."

Thanks for all the links on Alaska and climate change.
ReplyDeleteOn the first--we all know that Sarah did not (could not?) read the things she signed. Nor seemed to know anything about them a short time later.
As proof I offer her answer to the question about what Supreme Court cases besides Roe vs. Wade she familiar with or that affected Alaska, or whatever the question was.
The correct answer just a week or so after the Supreme Court ruled against Alaska's fishermen in the Exxon Valdez case was obvious to ALL Alaskans.
Yet, despite 20+ years in the courts, and her signing the state on as a "Friend of the Court," she did not seem to be aware of the Exxon Valdez case.
Also, too, didn't we see that the Palins who don't fish anywhere near any of the impacted places sign up for and were therefore part of the group fighting Exxon?
Palin screwed Alaska's fishermen and the coastal communities, who to this day can dig on the beach and find oil.

Sorry for this long link below, but the photos are important to see. (Especially since we are discussing Sarah Palin and her bad decisions regarding the environment.)
Sarah didn't think the Exxon Valdez Supreme Court case and its ruling were important enough to mention when asked specifically to list a Supreme Court case that was important to Alaska, as its governor.
Nor was she able to even THINK of it when asked. I mean it wasn't like she ran out of time after listing and discussing so many other cases. As I recall, she couldn't come up with a case to mention other than Roe v Wade.
https://www.google.com/search?q=alaska+exxon+valdez+case&client=firefox-a&hs=Qkt&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=fflb&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=mYNNVL7PDKqBiwLk0IDIBA&ved=0CDMQsAQ&biw=944&bih=401
And YES! I proudly admit that I "have issues" with how the quitter governor handled the Exxon Valdez thing. (As I do with the other governors during these long decades since the spill.)

DeleteTrue AND funny!!
Refers to herself in present tense as governor still, I see. She's really screwed up, no doubt about it--as is anyone who could choke down her blather.
ReplyDeleteYep, she seems to think she is still the governor. That's ridiculous. As everybody knows, she is the Vice President of the United States.
DeleteIn her mind, Palin is the President.

DeletePresident? She thinks she is Gawd.
I remember well when so many people were in dire need of heat-someone-I can't remember, but I probably read it here-set a fund and I gladly gave what I could. With my donation I probably did more for the people of Alaska than that skank ever did.

DeleteHave just resd an article about this on the Huffington Post, and believe me it's scary. Anyone with a brain has noticed the radical change in weather all over the world, everyone but brain dead Sarah. Here is a snippet from the article.
ReplyDeleteDelegates from more than one hundred countries and TOP Scientists will meet in Copenhagen Oct. 27th-31st to edit the report on climate change which they say greenhouse gas emissions are the main cause and climate change will cause "Serious, pervasive, and irreversible damage" Sarah is spouting the Republican line on this , they plan on making it a real issue in future campaigns . She is now and always has been a brain dead idiot who lives in The Bozone Layer, the layer that prevents bright ideas from penetrating.

It is late, I sit alone in my freezing cabin listening to the arctic wind. What could I have done, years ago, when I first encountered her, here, 137 years ago when she first came along with her mate. Victor Frankenstein slept soundly in a feather bed with Elizabeth but we still live with his curse, his mockery of God.
ReplyDeleteThere's no connecting any dots in that spiel. None at all. This woman is mentally retarded. Every time she speaks her "mind," she shows us how chaotic and fucked up her brain is.

DeleteThe name is Bob Tkacz
Delete"“The thing about Palin is she came on — think back, transparency and openness was the slogan of her campaign — and from the start she was anything but transparent and open,” Bob Tkacz, a fisheries reporter and publisher of Laws of the Seas, said.
Tkacz says he requested a transition report on fisheries from the Palin administration and it came with huge sections redacted.
“I saw the Fish and Game pre-censored report and post-censored on, and the stuff they blacked out — I don’t remember specifics, but it was ‘Why in the world would anybody want to?'” Tkacz said. “We’re not talking about AIDS, Social Security, there was no huge controversial issue that anybody ever did. Those reports are just meant to give the governor a heads up on fish or oil or whatever the issue is, and they hid those from the start.”

woohoo!!! I lasted over a minute! A PB!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess the public brawling scandal that will never die and the knowledge that the Palins are less respected than the Boo Boo family have mellowed me. I hope it lasts...
I suppose the stupid twit didn't look out the windows when she went to other countries where there are no restrictions on this so called "climate change". There was a special on NatGeo about just this subject. In areas of China they have what are called "inversion days" where the elderly and folks with respiratory and heart problems are told to stay indoors. Why? Cause you can slice the atmosphere into coal particle filled brownies. I'm not a denier, but since they've changed the laws in regard to leaded fuel and using science to make cars that are more fuel efficient, we've seen a reduction in greenhouse gasses.
ReplyDeleteTo put catalytic converters on all the industrial smoke stacks would help immensely, but because big business looks at the bottom line over air quality, they won't do it.
O BTW, Sarah. Commercial building products are tested at lower levels for radon, lead, formaldehyde, etc because peeps don't spend a lot of time living in hockey rinks. Maybe that explains why that cluster of dependent idiots that live in your nest are more stupid (aka "Stupider or Fucking Stupider") than the average Alaskan.
